  • Save downloaded content when in app purchase is complete

    Hello experts! I have created an app which allows users to buy non-consumable content. The retrieving-ids-payment-process works like a charm. What i can't really figure out is how my content should be saved into the phone. The existing structure is that I have all my current content in Resources/packages/. For every package there is an matching entry in a package.plist. When the purchase is complete it is time to download the content from the server. What i retrieve from the server is a zip file with the new package that I have bought. My observer will call a method named provideContent: -(void) provideContent: (NSString*) productIdentifier { In here I will call my server and download the package } What i need from you guys is some sort of step by step walkthrough or tutorial of how, when the zip is retrieved(is zip allowed?), unpack this zip and add it to my current package structure.     Hello, gcc 4.4.2 c89 I have a function that has to run (config_relays). It make a call to a API function called set_relay, then the code has to wait before continuing until the event for set_relay event has completed. The set_relay is any Async call. i.e. void run_processes() { switch() { case EV_RELAY_SET: break; } } void config_relays() { set_relay(); /* Wait until EV_RELAY_SET has fired */ /* Cannot do init_relay until set_relay event has fired - has to block here */ init_relay(); } I guess I could put the init_relay() in the switch. However, that event is used for other things and not just for initializing the relay. I would really like to handle everything in the config_relays function. In C# you can do this by using autoreset. Does C have anything like that. Many thanks for any advice,

  • Cannot loop through Excel 2003 files in SSIS 2008

    Hi, I am trying to execute a SSIS 2008 package on a 64-bit OS and import Excel 2003 files to SQL Server 2008. I have created an OLEDB Connection to the Excel file with a Connection String that retrieves the Excel file from a variable, inside the ForEach Loop Container. The Run64BitRunTime is set to false. I am not able to edit the SQL Command on the OLEDB Source in the Data Flow task. It returns an error : Error 2 Validation error. Load List Staged Table: Load List Staged Table: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER. The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "List OLEDB to Excel" failed with error code 0xC0202009. There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed. 0 0 Appreciate any help.

    I want to call an ActiveX DLL or OLE2 object from ABAP. I already know the syntax of how to instantiate the object & execute the methods: data: my_object type ole2_object. create object my_object <ole2object>. call method of my_object <objectmethod>. But given a particular application, how do I know if this is supported, what the values/names of ole2object and objectmethod is? Transaction SOLE supplies a table of OLE Applications, among this is Excel.Application which I know can be instantiated as an OLE object, so it looks like you have to add the OLE2 app to this table first, but once again where can I read the data like CLSID & LibType from - is it published as part of the application?

  • Socket Select with empty fd set

    Hi; Suppose you have an fd set which can have zero or more sockets in it. When I try to call select operation on empty fd set, what I get is -1 as the number of fds which are set, meaning error. So what would you suggest to overcome this problem, you might say do not call if empty but I have a loop and any time fd set can hold 0 or more sockets. What is the best approach about this problem? (we are on C programming language)

    I use $.(ajax) function extensively in my app to call ASP.net web services. I would like to write a wrapper in order to centralize all the ajax calls. I found few simple solutions, but none address an issue of passing parameters to delegates, for example, if i have: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://localhost/TemplateWebService/TemplateWebService/Service.asmx/GetFoobar", data: jsonText, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function(response) { var results = (typeof response.d) == 'string' ? eval('(' + response.d + ')') : response.d; OnSuccess(results, someOtherParam1, someOtherParam2); }, error: function(xhr, status, error) { OnError(); } }); The wrapper to this call would have to have the way to pass someOtherParam1, someOtherParam2 to the OnSuccess delegate...Aside from packing the variables into a generic array, I can't think of other solutions. How did you guys address this issue?

  • calling webservice in java servlet

    I have created a servlet which displays a form having some fields and a submit button and also created a web service having methods which are needed in my servlet. I have deployed the web service on Tomcat 5.5.9/Axis and servlet web application on Tomcat ( same instance of Tomcat) using eclipse. Since one is web service and other is web application both are running on separate instances of tomcat, so when i run them separately i.e servlet without the call to web service and a client that access that webservice it works fine but when i integrate them both i get a error like exception: javax.servlet.ServletException I would like to call the web service and return the result when i press the button Please advice me on how to implement that.

  • Does the chunk of the System.Collections.Concurrent.Partitioner need to be thread safe?

    I am working with the Parallel libraries in .net 4 and I am creating a Partitioner and the example shown in the MSDN only has a chunk size of 1 (every time a new result is retrieved it hits the data source instead of the local cache. The version I am writing will pull 10000 SQL rows at a time then feed the rows from the cache until it is empty then pull another batch. Each partition in the Partitioner has its own chunk. I know every time I call to the IEnumerator in from the SQL data-source that needs to be thread safe but for use in a Parallel.ForEach do I need to make every call to the cache for the chunking thread safe?

  • Loop doesn't update listboxes until it is done iterating

    I have a loop that takes file name from a listbox, performs a system() call, then moves that filename to another listbox. Problem is, it doesn't move the filenames over one at a time, but waits until the entire loop is finished and moves them all at once.   • Windows threading: _beginthread vs _beginthreadex vs CreateThread C++

    What's a better way to start a thread? I'm trying to determine what are the advantages/disadvantages of _beginthread, _beginthreadex and CreateThread. All of these functions return a thread handle to a newly created thread, I already know that CreateThread provides a little extra information when an error occurs (it can be checked by calling GetLastError)... but what are some things I should consider when I'm using these functions? I'm working with a windows application, so cross-platform computability is already out of the question. I have gone through the msdn documentation and I just can't understand, for example, why anybody would decide to use _beginthread instead of CreateThread or vice versa. Cheers! Update: OK, thanks for all the info, I've also read in a couple of places that I can't call WaitForSingleObject() if I used _beginthread(), but if I call _endthread() in the thread shouldn't that work? What's the deal there?

  • Javascript form validation - what's lacking?

    I've tried out two javascript form validation frameworks - jQuery validation, and jQuery Tools validator - and I've found both of them lacking. jQuery validation lacks the clear separation between the concepts of "validating" and "displaying validation errors", and is highly inflexible when it comes to displaying dynamic error messages. jQuery Tools on the other hand lacks decent remote validation support (to check if a username exists for example). Even though jQuery validation supports remote validation, the built-in method requires the server to respond in a particular format. In both cases, any sort of asynchronous validation is a pain, as is defining rules for dependencies between multiple inputs. I'm thinking of rolling my own framework to address these shortcomings, but first I want to ask... have others experienced similar annoyances with javascript validation? What did you end up doing? What are some common validation requirements you've had which really should be catered for? And are there other, much better frameworks out there which I've missed? I'm looking primarily at jQuery-based frameworks, though well-implemented frameworks built on other libraries can still provide some useful ideas.

  • Why does GetClusterShape return null when the cluster specification was retrieved through the GetClu

    Suppose I have a virtual earth shape layer called shapeLayer1 (my creative energy is apparently at an alltime low). When i call the GetClusteredShapes method I get an array of VEClusterSpecification objects that represent each and every one of my currently visible clusters; no problem there. But when I call the GetClusterShape() method it returns null... null! Why on earth would it do that? I used firebug to confirm that the private variable of the VEClusterSpecification that's supposed to hold a reference to the shape is indeed null so it's not the method that's causing the problem. Some have suggested that this is actually documented behavior Returns null if a VEClusterSpecification object was returned from the VEShapeLayer.GetClusteredShapes Method But looking at the current MSDN documentation for the VEShape class it says: Returns if a VEClusterSpecification object was returned from the VEShapeLayer.GetClusteredShapes Method Is this a bug or a feature? Is there any known workarounds or (if it is a bug) some plan on when they are going to fix it?

My understanding of an update attribute inside a remoteFunction is that it is the name of the div which gets refreshed after the remoteFunction call is compeleted. Thanks.

  • Cross platform unicode path handling

    I'm using boost::filesystem for cross-platform path manipulation, but this breaks down when calls need to be made down into interfaces I don't control that won't accept UTF-8. For example when using the Windows API, I need to convert to UTF-16, and then call the wide-string version of whatever function I was about to call, and then convert any output back to UTF-8. While the wpath, and other w* forms of many of the boost::filesystem functions help keep sanity, are there any suggestions for how best to handle this conversion to wide-string forms where needed, while maintaining consistency in my own code?

  • Problem with usercontrol scaling when added at run-time in .Net, WinForms

    First here's the steps to replicate, then I'll explain what the problem is: (1) Add a usercontrol to a form in the construtor, after the InitializeComponent call. (2) Run the form. (3) Click a button to increase the form font size. All the controls within the usercontrol scale perfectly but the usercontrol itself doesn't. It's width and height are increased by way too much. To correct the problem, the usercontrol must be added before the InitializeComponent call. If it wasn't possible for me to add the usercontrol before InitializeComponent, is there any way for me to correct the scaling?

I can't use DomDocument, it's in php cli, I need regex solution..   • Is it possible to change where things are in Chrome's Developer Tools Script panel?

    When debugging browser-based apps using Google Chrome's Developer Tools, is there a way to change the locations of the various panes? Specifically in the Scripts panel (though I suppose it's a general question). E.g., the Watch Expressions, the Call Stack, the code pane, etc.? The defaults are okay (console at bottom, code pane upper left, a column of Watch Expressions, Call Stack, Scope Vars, etc. in the upper right), but I'd rather swap things around a bit if it's possible. There doesn't seem to be anything to grab (other than for sizing) and I haven't found a way in my searching so far, but there are (still) some things about Chrome's options that aren't ... well-advertised in the UI, shall we say :-), especially around developer tools.

    Hi, I've just started a new project in ASP.net 4.0 with MVC 2. What I need to be able to do is have a custom hook at the start and end of each action of the controller. e.g. public void Index() { *** call to the start custom hook to externalfile.cs (is empty so does nothing) ViewData["welcomeMessage"] = "Hello World"; *** call to the end custom hook to externalfile.cs (changes "Hello World!" to "Hi World") return View(); } The View then see welcomeMessage as "Hi World" after being changed in the custom hook. The custom hook would need to be in an external file and not change the "core" compiled code. This causes a problem as with my limited knowledge ASP.net MVC has to be compiled. Does anyone have any advice on how this can be achieved? Thanks

  • Jersey 1.8 is released

    On the last Friday, we have released the 1.8 version of Jersey, the open source, production quality, reference implementation of JAX-RS. The JAX-RS 1.1 specification is available at the JCP web site and also available in non-normative HTML here. For an overview of JAX-RS features read the Jersey user guide. To get started with Jersey read the getting started section of that guide. To understand more about what Jersey depends on read the dependencies section of that guide. See change log here. This, 1.8, version of Jersey is going to be integrated into GlassFish 3.1.1 and contains bug fixes mainly. The most important fix from this perspective is included in the JAX-RS/EJB integration layer. It is now possible to implement JAX-RS resources as EJB Session beans, which implement local and/or remote interfaces. This functionality was broken in previous releases. Another great addition should come into the client space, where Pavel has already done some preparation in the client API (including some breaking changes there) for the non-blocking asynchronous client feature. The implementation is already part of the experimental Jersey space and should be included as part of the stable Jersey bits in some of the coming releases.   • Impersonation on Windows 2000 to Windows XP Leaves Connections Open

    I'm running on a Windows 2000 Pro SP4 box (off domain) and trying to impersonate a local user on a Windows XP box (on domain). I'm using code very similar to the WindowsImpersonationContextFacade in the question posted here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/879704/how-can-i-temporarily-impersonate-a-user-to-open-a-file. I am using impersonation to remotely start and stop windows services as well as access network shares (for some automated integration tests). To get this working, i had to use LOGON32_PROVIDER_DEFAULT and LOGON32_LOGON_NEW_CREDENTIALS when calling LogonUser. Everything worked beautifully ( Windows XP on domain to Windows XP on domain, Windows XP on domain to Windows Server 2003 off domain, and even Windows XP on domain to Windows 2000 off domain). The one issue was running on Windows 2000 Pro SP4 off the domain and trying to impersonate a local user on a Windows XP box running on the domain. To get the Windows 2000 piece working, i had to use LOGON32_PROVIDER_WINNT50 and LOGON32_LOGON_NEW_CREDENTIALS when calling LogonUser. This seemed to get me 95% of the way there, i could now impersonate the local user on the XP box and start/stop services as well as access a network share using the impersonated credentials. I'm running in to one problem though, calling Undo impersonation and closing the token handle seems to leave the connection to the remote box open. After about 10 or so impersonation calls, further impersonation attempts will fail with an error saying something about too many connections are currently open. If i look at the Computer Management - System Tools - Shared Folders - Sessions on my remote Windows XP box, i can see about 10 sessions open to the Windows 2000 box. I can manually close these (i think they may eventually close themselves, but not very quickly) and then impersonation begins working again few more times. This open session issue doesn't seem to be a problem in any of my other test scenarios, just when running locally on a Windows 2000 box. Any ideas? Edit 1: After some more testing and trying out many different things, this seems to be an issue with open sessions not being reused. On Windows 2000 only, every call to LogonUser to get a token and then using that token to impersonate seems to result in a new session being created. I'm guessing Windows XP & Windows Server 2003 are reusing open sessions since i don't seem to be having any issues with them. If I call LogonUser once, then cache the token, I seem to be able to make as many calls to impersonate as I need using the cached token without running in to the "too many connections" issue. This seems like an ugly work around though since i can't call CloseHandle() on my token every time i perform impersonation. Anybody have any thoughts or ideas, or am i stuck with this ugly hack?   • .NET Data Adapter Timeout SP Issue

    We have a SQL Server stored procedure that runs fine in SQL Manager directly, does a rather large calculation but only takes 50-10 seconds max to run. However when we call this from the .NET app via a data adapter it times out. The timeout however happens before the timeout period should, we set it to 60 seconds and it still times out in about 20 seconds or less. I've Googled the issue and seen others note issues where a SP works fien directly but is slow via a data adpater call. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

    Hi, I have a 2D array, call it 'A'. I have two other 2D arrays, call them 'ix' and 'iy'. I would like to create an output array whose elements are the elements of A at the index pairs provided by x_idx and y_idx. I can do this with a loop as follows: for i=1:nx for j=1:ny output(i,j) = A(ix(i,j),iy(i,j)); end end How can I do this without the loop? If I do output = A(ix,iy), I get the value of A over the whole range of (ix)X(iy). Thank you, Jason
