• Can FLV AAC stream be played in Android

  Hi, I'm trying to build a radio player and the client is providing a stream which is a FLV container with the audio being AAC When I read the headers it shows up as audio/aacp. I have tried all possible ways such as using the 1) Streaming through mediaplayer (Does not work) 2) Use the NPR mode of using a proxy stream (I get a broken pipe exception) 3) Play it in chunks ( Plays but I need the SDCard and the playback is not very great) 4) Use the GPL'd FAAD2 Library but I would have to pay the royalty fee Can some one help me out on figuring this issue out. The last option that I have is to have my client change the stream to mp3 container (which I know that it works) Regards, Hari

• IE Information Bar, download file...how do I code for this?

  I have a web page (asp.net) that compiles a package then redirects the user to the download file via javascript (window.location = ....). This is accompanied by a hard link on the page in case the redirect doesn't work - emulating the download process on many popular sites. When the IE information bar appears at the top due to restricted security settings, and a user clicks on it to download the file, it redirects the user to the page, not the download file, which refreshes the page and removes the hard link. What is the information bar doing here? Shouldn't it send the user to the location of the redirect? Am I setting something wrong in the headers of the download response, or doing something else wrong to send the file in the first place?   The question is in the title... I searched but couldn't find anything. Edit: I don't really see any need to explain this, but because people think that what I'm saying makes no sense (and that I'm asking the wrong questions), here's the problem: Since people seem to be very interested in the "root" cause of all the problem rather than the actual question asked (since that apparently helps things get solved better, let's see if it does), here's the problem: I'm trying to make a D runtime library based on NTDLL.dll, so that I can use that library for subsystems other than the Win32 subsystem. So that forces me to only link with NTDLL.dll. Yes, I'm aware that the functions are "undocumented" and could change at any time (even though I'd bet a hundred dollars that wcstombs will still do the same exact thing 20 years from now, if it still exists). Yes, I know people (especially Microsoft) don't like developers linking to that library, and that I'll probably get criticized for the right here. And yes, those two points above mean that programs like chkdsk and defragmenters that run before the Win32 subsystem aren't even supposed to be created in the first place, because it's literally impossible to link with anything like kernel32.dll or msvcrt.dll and still have NT-native executables, so we developers should just pretend that those stages are meant to be forever out of our reaches. But no, I doubt that anyone here would like me to paste a few thousand lines of code and help me look through them and try to figure out why memory allocations that aren't failing are being rejected by the source code I'm modifying. So that's why I asked about a different problem than the "root" cause, even though that's supposedly known to be the best practice by the community. If things still don't make sense, feel free to post comments below! :)

• jQuery image fade not working for unknown reason...?

  Just when I thought I was done for the night, another issue is keeping me awake. It appears that somehow I have broken the fade I was using on my thumbnails. If you go here: http://ftframes.com/milad2/ When you hover your mouse of the thumbnails, it should fade up. To give you an idea, this is a working version of the script: http://nothingcantouchme.com/stackoverflow.php#download_page As you can see, the hover works fine with the fade. And please mind the mess on this one, I just added it to demonstrate. Is there anyone that can kindly assist me in solving this issue? I would lie if I told you that I wasn't completely lost.

• Hibernate Exception Fixed By Alt+Tab

  Hi all, I've got a very curious problem in Hibernate that I would like some opinions on. In my code if I do the following: Go to page A Click a link on page A to be taken to page B Click on data item on page B Exception thrown I get an error telling me: failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: XYZ, no session or session was closed Fair enough. But when I do the same thing but add an alt+tab in the middle, everything is fine. E.g. Go to page A Click a link on page A to be taken to page B Hit ALt+Tab to switch to another application Hit ALt+Tab to switch back to the web browser Click on data item on page B Everything is fine. I'm a little confused as to how switching focus from my application makes it act as I want it to. Does anyone have any light to shine on the subject? I don't think it's a locking issue as even if I do the second set of steps quicker than the first, still no error. It's a Seam application using Hibernate 3.3.2.GA & 3.4.0.GA.

• Can't access dynamically generated div with Jquery

  Still trying to get my head around JQuery and dynamically generated content. I have the following code that is dynamically generated with JQuery whenever a user clicks on an 'Add' button: <div id="practices_div" style="border-top: 1px dotted gray"> <br/> <a href="#" class="remove_link" rel="practices_div">Remove</a> ....content goes here </div> The JQuery code that dynamically loads the above content is as follows: $.ajax({ url: '/addAjax.html', success: function(response) { $('#container').append(response); } }); What I'm trying to do is when a user clicks on the Remove link, JQuery should hide and delete the dynamically generated content from the page. The code that does this is as follows: $('.remove_link').live('click', function() { if (confirm("Remove this item?")) { $('#practices_div').fadeOut('medium', function() { $(this).remove(); }); } return false; }); So, when the content is dynamically loaded via Ajax, and I click on the Remove link, the Confirmation dialogue box is displayed and if I confirm, nothing happens. For some reason, JQuery is not able find the dynamically generated #practices_div. Any idea what I may be doing wrong?

  While working on an existing Drupal site I've noticed a strange glitch that causes any PHP operator with in it to act like a ? tag. This is happening in in Drupal pages that I create that have a 'Input Format' of 'PHP code'. • Model value not being set on return from View to Controller

  I have a boolean model variable who's value is supposed to be set to TRUE in order to perform a process on return back into the Controller. It works absolutely fine on my local machine, but not on the remote web server. Can somebody PLEASE inform me what I am missing? • PyGTK: Manually render an existing widget at a given Rectangle? (TextView in a custom CellRenderer)

  Hello! I am trying to draw a TextView into the cell of a TreeView. (Why? I would like to have custom tags on text, so they can be clickable and trigger different actions/popup menus depending on where user clicks). I have been trying to write a customized CellRenderer for this purpose, but so far I failed because I find it extremely difficult to find generic documentation on rendering design in gtk. More than an answer at the specific question (that might be hard/not doable, and I'm not expecting you to do everything for me), I am first looking for documentation on how a widget is rendered, to understand how one is supposed to implement a CellRenderer. Can you share any link that explains, either for gtk or for pygtk, the rendering mechanism? More specifically: size allocation mechanism (should I say protocol?). I understand that a window has a defined size, and then queries its children, saying "my size is w x h, what would be your ideal size, buddy?", and then sometimes shrinks children when all children cant fit together at their ideal sizes. Any specific documentation on that, and on particular on when this happens during rendering? How are rendered "builtin" widgets? What kind of methods do they call on Widget base class? On the parent Window? When? Do they use pango.Layout? can you manually draw a TextView onto a pango.Layout object? This link gives an interesting example showing how you can draw content in a pango.Layout object and use it in a CellRenderer. I guess that I could adapt it if only I understood how TextView widget are rendered. Or perhaps, to put it more simply: given an existing widget instance, how does one render it at a specific gdk.Rectangle? Thanks a lot.

• Win XP cannot connect (or see) my wifi network, but can see others

  since yesterday I have a strange wifi problem with my pc. I have a wireless linksys router setup that worked fine for many months, now since yesterday my pc won't connect to the wifi signal anymore. The strange thing is, my macbook pro still connects fine. SSID is broadcasting, but my windows XP doens't see it, I have all signal modes set to "auto". Windows XP sees all my neighbours wifi networks, so the wifi card isn't broken or anything. Any idea what can be wrong here?

• C++ - Basic WinAPI question

  Hello! I am now working on a some sort of a game engine and I had an idea to put everything engine-related into a static library and then link it to my actual problem. Right now I achieved it and actually link that library and every functions seem to work fine, except those, which are windows-related. I have a chunk of code in my library that looks like this: hWnd = CreateWindow(className, "Name", WS_OVERLAPPED | WS_CAPTION | WS_EX_TOPMOST, 0, 0, 800, 600, NULL, NULL, GetModuleHandle(NULL), this); if (hWnd) { ShowWindow(hWnd, SW_NORMAL); UpdateWindow(hWnd); } else { MessageBox(NULL, "Internal program error", "Error", MB_OK | MB_ICONERROR); return; } When this code was not in the library, but in the actual project, it worked fine, created the window and everything was ok. Right now (when I'm linking to my library that contains this code) CreateWindow(...) call returns NULL and GetLastError() returns "Operation succesfully completed" (wtf?). Could anybody help me with this? Is it possible to create a window and display it using a static library call and why could my code fail? Thank you.

• How to cache code in PHP?

  I am creating a custom form building system, which includes various tokens. These tokens are found using Regular Expressions, and depending on the type of toke, parsed. Some require simple replacement, some require cycles, and so forth. Now I know, that RegExp is quite resource and time consuming, so I would like to be able to parse the code for the form once, creating a php code, and then save the PHP code, for next uses. How would I go about doing this? So far I have only seen output caching. Is there a way to cache commands like echo and cycles like foreach()? Because of misunderstandings, I'll create an example. Unparsed template data: Thank You for Your interest, [*Title*] [*Firstname*] [*Lastname*]. Here are the details of Your order! [*KeyValuePairs*] Here is the link to Your request: [*LinkToRequest*].   Say I have a class Foo, a class A and some subclass B of A. Foo accepts A and its sublclasses as the generic type. A and B both require a Foo instance in their constructor. I want A's Foo to be of type A , and B's Foo to be of type B or a superclass of B. So in effect, So I only want this: Foo<X> bar = new Foo<X>; new B(bar); to be possible if X is either A, B, or a both subclass of A and superclass of B. So far this is what I have: class Foo<? extends A>{ //construct } class A(Foo<A> bar){ //construct } class B(Foo<? super B> bar){ super(bar); //construct } The call to super(...) doesn't work, because <A> is stricter than <? super B>. Is it somehow possible to use the constructor (or avoid code duplication by another means) while enforcing these types? Edit: Foo keeps a collection of elements of the generic parameter type, and these elements and Foo have a bidirectional link. It should therefore not be possible to link an A to a Foo.

• Facebook Scrumptious sample app won't build

  I did exactly what they do in the video. However, when I get to the scrumptious app and try to build/run it, mine fails. It says: "Parse Issue. Expected a type." Here are the two lines that it thinks are broken (located in the ACAccountStore.h): // Returns the account type object matching the account type identifier.   I need to provide downloads of large files (upwards of 2 GB) on an ASP.net website. It has been some time since I've done something like this (I've been in the thick-client world for awhile now), and was wondering on current best practices for this. Ideally, I would like: To be able to track download statistics: # of downloads is essential; actual bytes sent would be nice. To provide downloads in a way that "plays nice" with third-party download managers. Many of our users have unreliable internet connections, and being able to resume a download is a must. To allow multiple users to download the same file simultaneously. My download files are not security-sensitive, so providing a direct link ("right-click to download...") is a possibility. Is just providing a direct link sufficient, letting IIS handle it, and then using some log analyzer service (any recommendations?) to compile and report the statistics? Or do I need to intercept the download request, store some info in a database, then send a custom Response? Or is there an ASP.net user control (built-in or third party) that does this? I appreciate all suggestions.

  Hello, guys! Very important question: Please, look at my project (300Kb). I can`t use MFC/ATL, pure C++ only. I have COM library (niapi.dll), but no sources/headers available, dll only. There is class for connecting to server (NiApi::SrvrSession), class has login event handler (NiApi::SrvrSession::OnLogin). I used #import "NiApi.dll" to generate wrappers/information, then ISrvrSessionPtr session(L"NiApi.SrvrSession"); to create object, then trying session->put_OnLogin(); to assign events, but there is no one put_On or such member. niapi.tlh have _ISrvrSessionEvents struct inside, but it have no relations with SrvrSession. I need to use events from NiApi::SrvrSession for handling connection status. Please help or my boss kill me! (sorry for broken english, I read better than speak;)

  The Windows console has been Unicode aware for at least a decade and perhaps as far back as Windows NT. However for some reason the major cross-platform scripting languages including Perl and Python only ever output various 8-bit encodings, requiring much trouble to work around. Perl gives a "wide character in print" warning, Pythong gives a charmap error and quits. Why on earth after all these years do they not just simply call the Win32 -W APIs that output UTF-16 Unicode instead of forcing everything through the ANSI/codepage bottleneck? Is it just that cross-platform performance is low priority? Is it that the languages use UTF-8 internally and find it too much bother to output UTF-16? Or are the -W APIs inherently broken to such a degree that they can't be used as-is?

The report.design contains: <list-property name="cssStyleSheets"> <structure> <property name="fileName">… mycss.css</property> <property name="externalCssURI"> http://.../mycss.css </property> </structure> </list-property> The resulting html contains: <style type="text/css"> .style_0 {…} .style_1 {…} …. </style> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://.../mycss.css"></link> For each reference of my styles, the rendered html elements use both styles usually like this: <div class="style_x myclass" …. > …. </div> Is there any way to get rid of the useless inline styles when rendering html?

• Passing a Variable into jQuery AJAX

  I'm stuck in a rut. I hope some one can help. Basically, I am building an AJAX mobile web app with jQuery. I am able to parse a specific XML file just fine, but I want the option to parse other XML files based on the link they were clicked on and load them on the fly into the same DIV or UL. So: click on Link1, loads XML1 click on Link2, loads XML2 I would like to be able to do this all client side, so no PHP (or is that a bad idea?). I have been passing the variable using GET in the url. So the link in the HTML goes to /?lineID=SBD_to_Union and it should load the XML file called SBD_to_Union.xml Making sense to anyone? I'd appreciate some help.

• Redirecting a large number of URLs with htaccess or php header

  I have undergone a major website overhaul and now have 5,000+ incoming links from search engines and external sites, bookmark services etc that lead to dead pages or 404 errors. A lot of the pages have corresponding "permalinks" or known replacement hierarchy/URL structure. I've started to list the main redirects with htaccess or physical files with simply a header location reidrect which is clearly not sustainable! What would be the best method to list all of the old link addresses and their corresponding new addresses with htaccess, php headers, mysql, sitemap file or is it better to have all broken links and wait for search engines etc to re-index my site? Are there any implications for having a large number of redirecting files for this temporary period until links are reset?
