  I've got a problem where calling grep from inside java gives incorrect results, as compared to the results from calling grep on the same file in the shell. My grep command (called both in Java and in bash. I escaped the slash in Java accordingly): /bin/grep -vP --regexp='^[0-9]+\t.*' /usr/local/apache-tomcat-6.0.18/work/Catalina/localhost/saccitic/237482319867147879_1271411421 The command is supposed to match and discard strings like these: 85295371616 Hi Mr Lee, please be informed that...   After searching in my start menu and clicking to "see more results", I got an error dialog: It "seems" that it should be search-ms:query=document an not search:query=document but where can I fix this? Additional info: New user account don't have the problem. Windows 7 Ultimate - RTM Disabling/Enabling again "Windows Search" (in Start Control Panel Programs Turn Windows Features on or off) doesn't fix it. (There's a HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Search in my registry that's not there normally.) - outdated see comments... • LINQ-to-SQL: ExecuteQuery(Type, String) populates one field, but not the other

  I've written an app that I use as an agent to query data from a database and automatically load it into my distributed web cache. I do this by specifying an sql query and a type in a configuration. The code that actually does the querying looks like this: List<Object> result = null; try { result = dc.ExecuteQuery(elementType, entry.Command).OfType<Object>().ToList(); } catch (Exception ex) { HandleException(ex, WebCacheAgentLogEvent.DatabaseExecutionError); continue; } elementType is a System.Type created from the type specified in the configuration (using Type.GetType()), and entry.Command is the SQL query. The specific entity type I'm having an issue with looks like this: public class FooCount { [Column(Name = "foo_id")] public Int32 FooId { get; set; } [Column(Name = "count")] public Int32 Count { get; set; } } The SQL query looks like this: select foo_id as foo_id, sum(count) as [count] from foo_aggregates group by foo_id order by foo_id For some reason, when the query is executed, the "Count" property ends up populated, but not the "FooId" property. I tried running the query myself, and the correct column names are returned, and the column names match up with what I've specified in my mapping attributes. Help!

  I'm doing a Sphinx search but turning up some really weird results. Any help is appreciated. So for example if I type "50", I get: 50 Cent 50 Lions 50 Foot Wave, etc. This is great, but when I search "50 Ce", I get: Ryczace Dwudziestki Spisek Bernhard Gal Cowabunga Go-Go And other crazy results. Also when I search for "50 Cent", the correct result is at the top, but then random results below. Any ideas why?   I'm trying to make Cakephp paginate take advantage of the SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS feature in mysql to return a count of total rows while using LIMIT. Hopefully, this can eliminate the double query of paginateCount(), then paginate(). http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/information-functions.html#function_found-rows I've put this in my app_model.php, and it basically works, but it could be done better.   I am trying to use OpenVPN to access the internet over a secure connection. I have openVPN configured and running on Amazon EC2 in bridge mode with client certs. • Running multiple image manipulations in parallel causing OutOfMemory exception

  I am working on a site where I need to be able to split and image around 4000x6000 into 4 parts (amongst many other tasks) and I need this to be as quick as possible for multiple users. I am finding that if this part of code is hit by 4 threads at once I get an OutOfMemory exception. I can stop this happening by wrapping all the code above in a lock(obj) but this isn't ideal. I have tried wrapping just the first using block (where the file is read from disk and split) but I still get the out of memory exceptions (this part of the code executes quite quickly). I this normal considering the amount of memory this should be taking up? Are there any optimisations I could make? Can I increase the memory available? • VB.net Debug sqldatareader - immediate window

  Scenario is this; I've a sqldatareader query that seems to be returning nothing when I try to convert the sqldatareader to a datatable using datatable.load. So I debug into it, I grab the verbose SQL query before it goes into the sqldatareader, just to make sure it's formatted correctly. I copy and paste this into SQL server to run it and see if it returns anything. It does, one row. I go back to visual studio and let the program continue, I create a datatable and try to load the sqldatareader but it just returns an empty reader. I'm baffled as to what's going on. I'll copy a version of the code (not the exact SQL query I'm using but close) here: Dim cn As New SqlConnection cn.ConnectionString = <connection string details here> cn.Open() Dim sqlQuery As String = "select * from Products where productid = 5" Dim cm As New SqlCommand(sqlQuery, cn) Dim dr As SqlDataReader = cm.ExecuteReader() Dim dt as new DataTable dt.load(dr) dt should have contents but it's empty. If I copy that SQL query into sql server and run it I get a row of results. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? ######### UPDATE ############ I've now noticed that it seems to be returning one less row than I get with each SQL query. So, if I run the SQL myself and get 1 row then the datatable seems to have 0 rows. If the query returns 4 rows, the datatable has 3!! Very strange, any ideas anyone?

I am trying to register MSCOMM32.OCX on my 64-bit Windows 7 machine. However, as I try to register it using regsvr32 as shown in the command window below, I am getting shown error popup. What am I missing here? Why is this component not getting registered? Or this is not the correct way to include MSCOMM control in MS Excel VBA? • Windows 2003 Server R2SP2 throws even ID 2269 after installing Excel WebPart in MOSS3

  We recently added an Excel workbook webpart (read only excel file - no editing) on our Sharepoint 2007 server. Once we did that, approximately 3-4 times an hour event ID 2269 is shown in the Application Log and a few minutes after that, an event id 1002 is displayed in the system long and the Sharepoint Offfce Servers Application pool shuts down. We've already check the "Bypass traverse checking and DCOM settings) per the MS KB and I have opened a ticket with MS Support. Problem is that MS Suppoert (sharepoint) thinks it is an IIS problem and the IIS people think it is a Sharepoint issue. Anyone else seen this problem? If we remove the Excel webpart, everything goes back to normal. The App Pools, SP and SP Central Admin sites are all using the same domain service account. Thanks in advance, Phil

  Currently I am using MySQLi to parse a CSV file into a Database, that step has been accomplished. However, My next step would be to make this Database searchable and automatically updated via jQuery.ajax(). Some people suggest that I print out the Database in another page and access it externally. I'm quite new to jquery + ajax so if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. I understand that the documentation on ajax should be enough to tell me what I'm looking for but it appears to talk only about retrieving data from an external file, what about from a mysql database?   What should look like X Window System (X.Org) modeline to be put in xorg.conf, for high resolution (incuding recommended 1680x1050 @ 50Hz resolution) for 22" NEC LCD 22WV monitor? X.Org autodetect correctly only 800x600 and lower resolution SVGA modes, unfortunately. How can I generate proper "Modeline" line for xorg.conf? Is information included in NEC_Datasheet_LCD22WV-english.pdf enough (found on NEC LCD 22WV product info page)? What tools there are available to generate proper modeline for a LCD monitor for Linux? MS Windows (MS Windows XP Home) correctly detects and use 1680x1050 resolution; can I somehow get modeline information from MS Windows?

• Error Log states that I have MySQL connect error, yet script runs fine

  Hello All, First, thanks for all the help I've received so far from StackOverflow. I've learned much. Once again, I'm posing a rudimentary question that I've searched on, but cannot find the exact answer to. Here or on PHP.net. It's sort of like what this guy asked, but not exactly: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/288603/mysql-throwing-query-error-yet-finishing-query-just-fine-why So, I saw my errorlog ballooning up when I checked my site directory and opened to notice that a bunch of errors have been recorded since I wrote this new Admin area. I know something is obviously awry with my scripting for the error to be thrown, but the weird thing is, the script actually runs through and pulls all the data I need without breaking. The log contains: PHP Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Access denied for user 'someuser'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/mysite/adminconsole.php on line 15 I don't get that because that very line is where I setup my connection... the exact same way I do it everywhere else on the site with no problem. After that error, I have these thrown at the same time [09-Apr-2010 08:44:18] PHP Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: A link to the server could not be established in /home/mysite/adminconsole.php on line 15 [09-Apr-2010 08:44:18] PHP Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/mysite/adminconsole.php on line 16 From what I read in the other guys thread, the problem is the contents of the query maybe? • Beginner SQL question: querying gold and silver tag badges in Stack Exchange Data Explorer

  I'm using the Stack Exchange Data Explorer to learn SQL, but I think the fundamentals of the question is applicable to other databases. I'm trying to query the Badges table, which according to Stexdex (that's what I'm going to call it from now on) has the following schema: Badges Id UserId Name Date This works well for badges like [Epic] and [Legendary] which have unique names, but the silver and gold tag-specific badges seems to be mixed in together by having the same exact name. Here's an example query I wrote for [mysql] tag: SELECT UserId as [User Link], Date FROM Badges Where Name = 'mysql' Order By Date ASC The (slightly annotated) output is: as seen on stexdex: User Link Date --------------- ------------------- // all for silver except where noted Bill Karwin 2009-02-20 11:00:25 Quassnoi 2009-06-01 10:00:16 Greg 2009-10-22 10:00:25 Quassnoi 2009-10-31 10:00:24 // for gold Bill Karwin 2009-11-23 11:00:30 // for gold cletus 2010-01-01 11:00:23 OMG Ponies 2010-01-03 11:00:48 Pascal MARTIN 2010-02-17 11:00:29 Mark Byers 2010-04-07 10:00:35 Daniel Vassallo 2010-05-14 10:00:38 This is consistent with the current list of silver and gold earners at the moment of this writing, but to speak in more timeless terms, as of the end of May 2010 only 2 users have earned the gold [mysql] tag: Quassnoi and Bill Karwin, as evidenced in the above result by their names being the only ones that appear twice. So this is the way I understand it: The first time an Id appears (in chronological order) is for the silver badge The second time is for the gold Now, the above result mixes the silver and gold entries together. My questions are: Is this a typical design, or are there much friendlier schema/normalization/whatever you call it? In the current design, how would you query the silver and gold badges separately? GROUP BY Id and picking the min/max or first/second by the Date somehow? How can you write a query that lists all the silver badges first then all the gold badges next? Imagine also that the "real" query may be more complicated, i.e. not just listing by date. How would you write it so that it doesn't have too many repetition between the silver and gold subqueries? Is it perhaps more typical to do two totally separate queries instead? What is this idiom called? A row "partitioning" query to put them into "buckets" or something?
