    Hello I want to design a WebService for communication between Win Mobile 6.5 based Palm device and a PHP web server. The Palm device software will be developed on .NET compact framework. The communication between web server and device I envision as XML over HTTP. I want a tool that will let me design the Webservice (interfaces, methods) and then generate the xsd schema together with xml messages for the communication. Can you recommend something? Regards

  • Find&Replace using Python - Binary file

    Hello, I'm attempting to do a "find and replace" in a file on a Mac OS X computer. Although it appears to work correctly. It seems that the file is somehow altered. The text editor that I use (Text Wrangler) is unable to even open the file once this is completed. Here is the code as I have it: import fileinput for line in fileinput.FileInput("testfile.txt",inplace=1): line = line.replace("newhost",host) print line, When I view the file from the terminal, it does say "testfile" may be a binary file. See it anyway? Is there a chance that this replace is corrupting the file? Do I have another option for this to work? I really appreciate the help. Thank you, Aaron UPDATE: the actual file is NOT a .txt file it is a .plist file which is preference file in Mac OS X if that makes any difference

  • Why does adding a reference to project targeting .NET Framework 4.0 fail?

    We have two projects that are both class libraries. Project 1 is a VS 2008 project and targets the .NET Framework 3.5. Project 2 is a VS 2010 (release candidate) project that targets the .NET Framework 4.0. When I try to add a reference to Project 2 in Project 1, it fails with a less than informative error message. I know that if I change the target Framework for Project 2 to 3.5, then adding the reference will work. My question is, if I don't change the target frameworks, but convert Project 1 to VS 2010, will the referencing work? Stated another way, is there some inherent incompatiblity between class libraries targeting different framework versions, or is it failing for me because VS 2008 doesn't know about the 4.0 framework?

    I love VI and I'm looking for a plugin of some sort that would allow me to input text in my browser (preferably Firefox or Chrome) using VI commands. It would save me an immense amount of time and at the same time when writing long emails. Can anyone think of any plugins that would allow me to do this? I was hopeful with Vimperator (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4891) but after installing it, I realized that it didn't do the one VI think I wanted to do: create or edit a text box with VI commands. It just allowed me to do Browser commands and scrolling in VI-style.

  • CICS web service requestor GET CONTAINER returns neither data nor error

    I am developing a CICS web service requestor application to consume a distributed web service. I used the web services assistant DFHWS2LS to transform the wsdl to copybooks successfully. I have no problem issuing the PUT CONTAINER and INVOKE SERVICE api commands, but when I issue GET CONTAINER I am not receiving any containers or data. No response codes or error messages, but no data. Any ideas on how to debug this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

    Hello, I'm having a problem with a cocoa application that takes the value of a text field, and writes it to a file. The file path is made using stringWithFormat: to combine 2 strings. For some reason it will not create the file and the console says nothing. My local machine is a running vista home edition and the production environment is windows server 2003. The application is written in asp.net 3.5, wierdly under the asp.net config tab in iis, 3.5 doesn't show up in the drop down list, although that version of the framework is installed. The error is not being thrown in my code, it happens during serialization. I called the method on the proxy, I have checked the arguments and they are OK. I have also logged the SOAP request and response, and they both look OK as well. I am really at a loss here. Any ideas? SOAP log: This is the soap response that the program seems to have trouble parsing only on server 2003. On my machine the soap is identical, and yet it parses with no problems.   • Asp.net web service: Problems accessing without www

    I have a Asp.net web service running on www.domain.com/Service.svc that I connect to using jQuery from my asp.net website. Everything works perfect if the user access my website with www.domain.com. But if the user uses only domain.com I get error: There was no channel actively listening at 'http://domain.com/Service.svc/get?date=2010-10-09'. This is often caused by an incorrect address URI. Ensure that the address to which the message is sent matches an address on which a service is listening. In my web.config I use the serviceHostingEnvironment tag to get the service running on my webhost (it doesn't work otherwise). Maybe this is what causes the error?
