• mysql backup and restore from ib_logfile failure

  Here's the case: After computer being hacked, we are in a rush to backup all data out to other computer. As a result, the mysql databases are not backup out as sql statement. What we have done is backup out all the physical files/folders in the C drive to new computer. Eg: C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 4.1\data In this case, all data for mysql are inside unreadable file. Inside data folder consist of files like ib_logfile0, ib_logfile1, but not ib_data1 All database's table structure format are inside each respective folder. (Some folder have .frm, .opt) (some other folder have .frm, .myd, .myi) How can I retrieve back the data from the database in a new computer? I tried to install the same mysql version(4.1) at new computer, then replace all backup files inside data folder into this mysql in new computer. Then restart mysql service. When I restart, it fail: Could not start mysql service on local computer. error 1067: process terminated unexpectedly.   We observed that sudden increase of SQL connections during a specific hour, it is a backend of a SharePoint 2007 Farm. From SharePoint 2007 Perspective: 1. Incremental crawling is scheduled at that time and few of the Timer jobs (normal timer jobs) are scheduled to run every mins / per 10mins. 2. Number of user requests are less. From SQL Server 2005 Perspective: 1. Transaction log backup is scheduled at that time 2. No other scheduled jobs are running at that time. so, how to narrow down the issue, what would be causing the sudden SQL connection increase?

As first requirement, generated self signed certificate using OpenSSL and added certificate to wallet. The wallet location is specified in server configuration. Created listener and it is starting however it does not provide any service. The default listener (non SSL) is working fine. When I execute LSNRCTL.EXE status SSLLISTENER it gives below output. • BitmapFactory.decodeStream returning null when options are set.

  Hi! I'm having issues with BitmapFactory.decodeStream(). When using it without options, it will return an image. But when I use it with options as in .decodeStream(inputStream, null, options) it never returns Bitmaps. What I'm trying to do is to downsample a Bitmap before I actually load it to save memory. I've read some good guides, but none using .decodeStream. • Internet Explorer 8 64bit and Selenium Not working.

  I am trying to get selenium tests to run. Yet every time I try to run a tests that should run IE I get a error on line 863 of htmlutils.js It says that I should disable my popup blocker. The thing is I went to IE tools- turn of popup block. So it is disabled and I get this error. Is there something else I need to disable. I actually don't even know what version of Internet explorer it is running since I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit version. So when I do use IE I use 64bit version but I am under the understanding if the site or something like that does not support 64bit it goes to 32bit. So not sure what I need to do it to make it work.   We have .net application installed on production server. It is using .net FrameWork 3.0 on windows server 2003 with RAM 4 GB. But there is a problem in application while running sometimes it throws system out of memory exception. I am very frustrating with this. Also I am unable to simulate the issue. I had checked all the possibilities which can cause the problem but didn’t get any thing which solve the issue I checked on production server event log found the Out Of Memory Exception also INVALID VIEW STATE logs are there. • Modifying ChangeSet in RIA Services

  Hi, I am using RIA Services Beta 2 with Linq2Sql and SL3. In my SL3, I have a datagrid where I can do some mappings of data (Updates, Inserts and Deletes). I override the Submit method when SubmitChanges() is called. In the submit method in the domain service, I do some validation. If a validation fails for a particular ChangeSetEntry in the ChangeSet, a ValidationErrors is added. Then I call the base.Submit(changeSet). So, if the changeset has 3 entities and one of the entities results in validation error, the other 2 entities are also rolled back. It looks like, RIA Services does an implicit transaction and hence it either submits all 3 or none even if 2 out of 3 does not have any validation error. Is there a way for the RIA service, to prevent rollback of the valid entities and only invalidate the ones that has validation failed. Inputs will be appreciated. Thanks Mohit

  Hello all, I just created my own "Home" to replace the stock android one or Sense. All is working fine and I get all I want. My only problem is to replace to long press on home key ( that usually show the last 6 activities you launched) by my own launcher. • Rails App hangs after few requests

  I have Bitnami Rails stack installed on my Mac. To better explain my problem i created a simple scaffold based rails app with mysql as the backend. I can get to perform simple POST and GET requests for a while and after a few requests the app just hangs indefinitely. No exception caught or anything worthwhile in the development log to report this strange behavior.   Hi, We are running our cluster on Amazon EC2. we are using cloudera scripts to setup hadoop. On the master node, we start below services. 609 $AS_HADOOP '"$HADOOP_HOME"/bin/hadoop-daemon.sh start namenode' 610 $AS_HADOOP '"$HADOOP_HOME"/bin/hadoop-daemon.sh start secondarynamenode' 611 $AS_HADOOP '"$HADOOP_HOME"/bin/hadoop-daemon.sh start jobtracker' 612 613 $AS_HADOOP '"$HADOOP_HOME"/bin/hadoop dfsadmin -safemode wait' On the slave machine, we run the below services. 625 $AS_HADOOP '"$HADOOP_HOME"/bin/hadoop-daemon.sh start datanode' 626 $AS_HADOOP '"$HADOOP_HOME"/bin/hadoop-daemon.sh start tasktracker' The main problem we are facing is, hdfs safemode recovery is taking more than an hour and this is causing delays in our job completion. The first message is thrown in task trackers log because, job tracker is not started. job tracker didn't start because of hdfs safemode recovery. The second message is thrown during the recovery process. Is there something I am doing wrong? How much time does normal hdfs safemode recovery takes? • TransactionScope and Connection Pooling

  Hi, I'm trying to get a handle on whether we have a problem in our application with database connections using incorrect IsolationLevels. Our application is a .Net 3.5 database app using SQL Server 2005. I've discovered that the IsolationLevel of connections are not reset when they are returned to the connection pool (see here) and was also really surprised to read in this blog post that each new TransactionScope created gets its own connection pool assigned to it. Our database updates (via our business objects) take place within a TransactionScope (a new one is created for each business object graph update). But our fetches do not use an explicit transaction. So what I'm wondering is could we ever get into the situation where our fetch operations (which should be using the default IsolationLevel - Read Committed) would reuse a connection from the pool which has been used for an update, and inherit the update IsolationLevel (RepeatableRead)? Or would our updates be guaranteed to use a different connection pool seeing as they are wrapped in a TransactionScope? Thanks in advance, Graham

  This is my first time creating an iPhone App and I am having difficulty with the memory management because I have never had to deal with it before. I have a UITableViewController and it all works fine until I try to scroll down in the simulator. It crashes saying that it cannot allocate that much memory. I have tried adding autorelease, release, and other stuff like that but that just causes the entire app to crash before even launching. • Do MSDTC and disaster recovery go together?

  Our application writes to multiple Sql Server databases within a distributed transaction. The Ops guys are saying that this messes up their disaster recovery plan because while the transactions on the live tables may commit at the same time, the log shipping on the separate databases happen at slightly different times. So in in a disaster recovery situation, there will be a few partial transactions. Is there a method for maintaining separate but synced databases in DR? Or do we have to re-design to relatively independent databases (or a single database)?

• Crawler do not create custom crawled properties

  These days i have faced with very strange problem. I have development environment with MOSS 2007 SP 2 and WS 2008, i have search configured and everything works great. I have started to configuring staging environment (MOSS 2007 SP2 with June CU) and create new farm and new SSP. I have deployed my changes with package (wsp) and manually create site collections, sub webs, pages and so on. When fill crawl finishes, i see in Crawl log that all my pages have been successfully crawled and when i use some test tools to query search, my pages have been found. In crawl log there is few errors like http://mysite/sites/de/pages "The crawler could not communicate with the server. Check that the server is available and that the firewall access is configured correctly..", but all pages in this Page library were indexed. The problem is that i use custom managed properties (mapped to custom crawled properties) in search queries, but crawler didn't create crawled properties for all my new site columns. For example for site column IsAccent the crawler didn't create cralwed property ows_isAccesnt. I'm sure that i have created pages for specific content type and all my crawl categories have checked "Automatically discover new properties when a crawl takes place ". In site settings - Searchable columns i haven't got any column selected as Nocrowl. I tried to export my managed and crawled properties from dev environment to stage evironment but all my managed properties were empty, after that i recreated SSP...the result was the same... I checked specific page with tools like Sharepoint Manager 2007 and U2U Caml Query Builder 2007 that content type is correct, and i can see values of my custom site collumns.... Using U2U Caml Query Builder 2007 agains some Page library in Result tab i can see ows_IsAccent (my site collumn is IsAccent) and others site columns, but i can't find them in Crawled properties. Any idias?

• Problem upgrading eclipse rcp app from 3.3 to 3.5 on Mac OS

  I previously had an eclipse rcp app based on eclipse 3.3 pugins deployed on both windows and mac OS X 10.4. i'm now trying to port the app to java 1.6 and eclipse 3.5 (Build id: 20100218-1602) plugins on Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard). I can launch the product from eclipse 3.5 on windows but not on Mac OS X. I have the 64bit cocoa eclipse IDE and java 6. In the launch configuration I set runtime JRE to JVM 1.6.0 and added required plugins.
