  I'm trying to find a parental control for Ubuntu that turns adult site words into *. I have tried webcontentcontrol (doesn't even ask me to set a password), mobicip (doesn't even get listed in package names). My family can see my adult bookmark names and that's really embarrassing. I tried sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol sudo apt-get -f install sudo apt-get upgrade sudo pkill webcontentcontrol sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol but still can't uninstall it. Googling for that error message resulted in a solution that is first said dangerous, later said wrong. After sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol, I always get the error message "Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)". What should I do? The full error message is in brazilian portuguese. Should I post it anyway? I have just installed nanny, but while webcontentcontrol is installed, it doesn't load.

  <mark> element informs that reading went on to some point. But is there a way we could read the prompt again from the specified position returned by mark (name) id? It could be useful in such a scenario: we are reading a long text. Then the user commands: PAUSE. We stop. Then the user would say "Go on". And we continue to read the prompt from the last position. IS that possible at all? And I would ask yet another question. No matter with the usage of SSML or not: How to make it work - pause the prompt reading and then continue from the position where we stopped? • Storing credit card details

  I have a business requirement that forces me to store a customer's full credit card details (number, name, expiry date, CVV2) for a short period of time. Rationale: If a customer calls to order a product and their credit card is declined on the spot you are likely to lose the sale. If you take their details, thank them for the transaction and then find that the card is declined, you can phone them back and they are more likely to find another way of paying for the product. If the credit card is accepted you clear the details from the order. I cannot change this. The existing system stores the credit card details in clear text, and in the new system I am building to replace this I am clearly not going to replicate this! My question, then, is how I can securely store a credit card for a short period of time. I obviously want some kind of encryption, but what's the best way to do this?   I am using the following to output the full name of a month in Greek. setlocale(LC_TIME, 'el_GR'); strftime("%B"); This works, except the output string is ISO-8859-7 (greek code page), which is a problem since I need a UTF-8 string. I could put this through iconv to convert it, but I was wondering if there was a way to do that without resorting to an extra function. Could you somehow tell strftime to output a UTF-8 string in this case?

• How can I save BioPerl sequence nested features in genbank or embl format?

  In BioPerl, a sequence object can have any number of features, and each of these can have subfeatures nested within them. For example, a feature may be a complete coding sequence of a gene, and its subfeatures might be individual exons that are concatenated to form the full coding sequence. However, when I use BioPerl to write a sequence object to a file in genbank or embl format, only the top-level features are written to the file, not the sub-features nested within the top-level features. How can I store my subfeatures in sequence files? Should I just convert all my subfeatures into top-level features, and then reconstruct the tree structure next time I read in the sequence?

• How do I create an ImageView in java code, within an existing Layout?

  I'm looking for an easy way for the user to see how many drinks they've had for a BAC calculator. PICTURE OF THE APP, for reference On button press, I would like an image to be added to the screen, directly under the spinner and with left alignment. When I press the button again, I want another image to be added to the screen. So if I pressed the add beer button, a drawable of a beer would appear below the spinner. If I pressed the add beer button again, I want there to be TWO drawables of beers under the spinner, preferably with them being added from the right. (Also, having them reach their width limit, wrapping around, and starting again on the left, but below a full line, would be AWESOME) I can't figure out how to do this. I assume adding a ImageView in code to a relative layout (because it needs to be positioned to the right) would be the best route, but if it's possible in xml I'd be more than happy to use that. Any help?

• Replacing backslash with another symbol in PHP

  Hi there, Been struggling with replacing a backslash by another symbol such as '.-.' just to indicate the position of backslashes as I could not send a string such as 'C\xampp\etc.' through url as GET variable so I thought I'd first replace the backslashes in that string by another symbol, then send through url, and then replace them back to backslashes in the PHP file that handles it. Though would there be a better way to send such strings through url? Because when I try a script such as: $tmp_name = preg_replace("\", ".-.", $_FILES['uploadfile']['tmp_name']); It turns out into a php error as \ is also used as delimiter.. Could anyone help me out on this? Thanks in advanced! Btw, if I'd be able to send a full array through url, this whole problem would be solved, but I don't think it's possible?

• Is it worth caching a Dictionary for foreign key values in ASP.net?

  I have a Dictionary<int, string> cached (for 20 minutes) that has ~120 ID/Name pairs for a reference table. I iterate over this collection when populating dropdown lists and I'm pretty sure this is faster than querying the DB for the full list each time. My question is more about if it makes sense to use this cached dictionary when displaying records that have a foreign key into this reference table. Say this cached reference table is a EmployeeType table. If I were to query and display a list of employee names and types should I query for EmployeeName and EmployeeTypeID and use my cached dictionary to grab the EmployeeTypeIDs name as each record is displayed or is it faster to just have the DB grab the EmployeeName and JOIN to get the EmployeeType string bypassing the cached Dictionary all together. I know both will work but I'm interested in what will perform the fastest. Thanks for any help.

  Hi! I need to use SET and ENUM types in my CakePHP 1.3 project. I found some advices, but all them are too old (2004-2006) and full of crazy methods, like modifying cake's core files. Also, CakePHP developers said that SET and ENUM types are not supported. Example: I have SET('alpha','beta') field, and I need to use this data as checkboxes in add & edit actions. Is there any way to add normal support (Form helpers etc.) of SET and ENUM fields?

• Blackberry pixel-specific animated focus scrolling

  Suppose I have a VFM full of both focusable and non-focusable fields. Since most of them are spread out far apart, the movement from one focused field to another is jerky at best, even with NullFields in between. In other words, it just sets the current y position to the next focused field without smoothly scrolling the screen. What I want to achieve is to be able to scroll at a fixed rate between fields, so it it doesn't just focus from one to another that instantaneously. After reading up on how to do this, it is a matter of overriding moveFocus and setting it via a TimerTask from an accessor method to set moveFocus, as per this link. However, I haven't seen a practical implementation of how to do this, complete with the routines that are called in the TimerTask's thread. Is there any way to achieve this type of behavior?

• Allow native DLL to output stdout / stderr in c# console application

  I have a native DLL which outputs via stdout / stderr. I have a C# console application which calls this DLL and outputs binary data to a parent C# application which started the C# console exe, processing stdout / stderr. Currently when I call the C# exe it works just fine (the DLL hooks up to the stdout of my console application and puts its data in just fine). Is this by design (and shouldn't be broken in future .NET framework versions)? Are there limitations on my managed code's deployment with this strategy (full-trust, permission requirements, GAC issues, etc)? I can't seem to find any documentation about stdout with a managed exe and an unmanaged dll both putting data in that standard output on MSDN. Thanks,

  I need some help in settingup/installing and configuring nginx LEMP stack on a fresh new VPS i have. The specs of the CentOS 5.7 VPS are 2GB DDR3 ECC RAM(4GB burst), 1 core 1.5Ghz(3Ghz burst) and 100GB RAID 10 storage, unmetered bandwidth @ 100Mpbs all for a whopping $25/month(unbeatable, yeah i know :) Anyways i have followed this LEMP(will also need MySQL and PHP) stack guide on linode http://library.linode.com/lemp-guides/centos-5 but basically what i want is to be able to host multiple website on this webserver after everything is setup. I am used to using DirectAdmin control panel on other server and want to have things setup so i can host multiple websites...mostly wordpress and drupal themes. Lets say 10 websites on this nginx web server. So can someone please help me on what i need to do to take "full" advantage of nginx power and performance, while been able to easily manage these multiple websites (wordpress and drupal themes)? My question is, the number of free bytes reported by the above code (the _tprintf statement) doesn't match with the number of free bytes of the drive (which i check by doing a right click on the drive). I wish to know if the reason for this difference?

  I'm trying to make a web based media player using the HTML5 audio element implemented in Firefox 3.5 and Chrome. Reading Mozillas documentation, omitting the autobuffer attribute should result in the audio src not being requested: if specified, the audio will automatically begin being downloaded, even if not set to automatically play. This continues until the media cache is full, or the entire audio file has been downloaded, whichever comes first However, on the server side I notice the files are being requested anyway. My sample page is very simple: <html> <body> <audio src="1.ogg"></audio> <audio src="2.ogg"></audio> </body> </html>

  We've just added Facebook like button to http://www.willyoung.co.uk/global/songs-and-lyrics/releases/the_hits?page=1, however the json returned by facebook is for (;;);{"error":0,"errorSummary":"","errorDescription":"","errorIsWarning":false,"silentError":0,"payload":{"requires_login":false,"success":false,"already_connected":false,"is_admin":false,"show_error":true,"error_info":{"brief":"Website inaccessible","full":"The page at http:\/\/www.willyoung.co.uk\/global\/songs-and-lyrics\/releases\/the_hits could not be reached."}}} It basically says that the website is not accessible. We've implemented this on other sites and it's fine. I'm not really sure where this is coming from. Any ideas?

• Are Sphinx & thinking_sphinx really stable? Not indexing Columns

  I'm encountering strange behaviour from thinking_sphinx/sphinx. My define_index block is about 100 lines, so quite a lot of columns i'm indexing. For full-text searching I only need about 10 attributes, for sorting and filtering I have another approximately 50 columns, mostly floats and integers. By filtering I mean using the "with" or "without" options. Searching does not really work consistently. All of a sudden, one attribute fails to filter. Or if I add a new one, it does not work. Only after a lot of tinkering it suddenly starts working. I cannot really reproduce it. Steps I that sometimes lead me to success where: rm -rf db/sphinx change the attribute definition e.g. has some_attribute = has some_attribute, :sortable = true or = has some_attribute, :sortable = true, :as = "some_attribute" restarting the server assigning a new :as name = has some_attribute, :as = "some_attribute_new" (yes, I did rake ts:rebuild or rake ts:in after every step) Does anybody else encounter similar problems?

  Hi, I have report where report width is more than 2000px; it is working fine with pdf and excel output but when we export for word it is showing 550px; report only other part we are not able to see. We have one report which contains ... abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz when we export for excel or pdf it's working fine but when we export for word it's coming like abcdefg other parts are not visible. I am exporting word report with JRRtfExporter object. is there any property i have to set to see full report or any suggestions ? we are using jasper reports 1.2.0 Any Help Appreciated ...

• Stop Images from loading in UIWebView

  I have a website that I wish to load in a UIWebView, but it is full of images and takes ages to load. The images are useless, and only serve to reduce the usability on the iPhone. I dont own the website so I cannot change the site's actual code. The webpage is heavily linked in to the web with ASP.NET and AJAX (needs external files), so i dont think it is possible to have it load an HTML string. I want to stop the images from loading altogether. So how do i block them? Change the HTML code as its loading somehow, or block images from being loaded?

• Security issues with rights to Network Service account

  hi, i have a page where the user can upload files on the server. Due to some problem related to account rights it was not working. Then i gave full rights to the Network Service account. I just wanted to know if there are any security breaching related issues with this solution, because i will be publishing the same to the client.
