  I have WPF Form which has many buttons with the same code. • Problem with keyPress in Mozilla

  I am usingtextarea to get some inputs. A label shows the updated chars left. It works fine in IE, but in FF 3.0, after reaching the max limit, it doesn't allow to delete or backspace key. I am using a javascript function on keypress event of the textarea. the javascript code is function checkLength() { var opinion = document.getElementById('opinion').value; if(opinion.length > 50) alert("You have reached the mas limit."); else document.getElementById('limit').innerHTML = 50 - opinion.length; } while on the page, i am using this <label id="limit">50 </label> <textarea id="opTxtArea" onkeypress="javascript:checkLength();"></textarea> Everything is working fine. The problem arises in FF, when the inputs reach the max limit, the message is displayed, but it doesn't allow to delete or backspace.

• Building asynchronous cache pattern with JSP

  I have a JSP that will take some 8 minutes to render. The code logic itself can not be made more efficient (it will update often and be updated by basically a pointy haired boss). I tried wrapping it with a caching layer like <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/classes/oscache.tld" prefix="oscache" %> <oscache:cache time="60"> <div class="pagecontent"> ..... my logic </div> </oscache:cache> This is nice until the 60 seconds is over. The next query after that blocks until the 8 minutes of rendering is done with again. I would need a way to build a pattern something like: If there is no version of the dynamic content in the cache run the actual logic (and populate the cache for subsequent requests) If there is a non-expired version of the dynamic content in the cache serve the output of the JSP logic from the cache If there is an expired version of the dynamic content in the cache serve the output of the JSP logic still from the cache AND run the JSP logic in the background so that the cache gets updated transparently to the user - avoiding the user have to wait for 8 minutes I found out that at least EHCache might be able to do some asynchronous cache updating but it did not sadly seem to apply to the JSP tags... Also I have to take in 10-20 parameters for the actual logic of the JSP and some of them should be used as a key for caching. Code example and/or pointers would be greatly appreciated. I do not frankly care if the solution provided is extremely ugly. I just want a simple 5 minute caching with asynchronous cache update taking into account some parameters as a key.

• Magick++ Read Image with ICC colorspace

  Hi guys I need to know how I can read an image which uses a separate ICC Color Profile. The image consists of 26'099'520 Bytes which is the result of 2480 width* 3508 height * 3 components per pixel. I tried it with the following code: Image * image = new Image(); Blob * blob = new Blob(imagedata.c_str(),imagedata.length()); image->read(*blob,Geometry(2480,3508),8,"RGB"); Blob * iccblob = new Blob(iccdata.c_str(),iccdata.length()); image->iccColorProfile(*iccblob); image->write("result.jpg"); But the colors are the same as when I don´t set the Icc-profile to the image. And the colors are wrong in both cases. Thanks for your help!

• Execute function without sending 'self' to it

  Is that possible to define a function without referencing to self this way? def myfunc(var_a,var_b) But so that it could also get sender data, like if I defined it like this: def myfunc(self, var_a,var_b) That self is always the same so it looks a little redundant here always to run a function this way: myfunc(self,'data_a','data_b'). Then I would like to get its data in the function like this sender.fields. UPDATE: Here is some code to understand better what I mean. • Fulfilling strange requirements with CSS (kind of simulating frames)

  Hi! I'm struggling to find a way to code a site according to our strange requirements. The site should be displayed correctly in all browsers from IE6 to Opera. The website is structured in three parts. It contains a header at the top, a navigation on the left an the rest of the screen should be filled with the content section. The following picture should help you better understand my description. Here comes the kicker: Each of the three sections should be scrollable separately and no browser scrollbar should appear. The page should be displayed similar as if it would use frames. Of course, on a big enough screen, no scroll bars should appear. It doesn't matter which way is used to display the site, although frames aren't an option an divs would be preferred. There are two conditions: The site should always fill the whole browser screen. The header and the content section should reach to the right border of the page, and the navigation as well as the content to the bottom. As soon as the site is scaled down -- whether due to resizing the browser window or due to a smaller resolution -- a scrollbar for every single section should appear, but no "browser scrollbar" for the whole page. The header should always retain it's height and the navigation always it's width. Do you know a way how all this can be achieved? Yours Bernhard

  I would like to prevent the default behaviour of a click on a link. I tried the return false; also javascript:void(0); in the href attribute but it doesn’t seem to work. It works fine in Firefox, but not in Chrome and IE. • AS3 trouble instantiating Document Class of loaded SWF

  I am loading one swf into another using the Loader class, but when the child swf finishes loading and is added to the display list, its Document Class is not instantiated. I have a few trace statements should execute when the object is created. When I compile the child SWF on its own, the Document Class runs as expected.   Vim's syntax highlighting for XML/XSL is great, except it turns off all syntax highlighting in CDATA regions. Is there a way to turn on syntax highlighting on in CDATA regions? At work, we have a lot of XSL code embedded within other XML documents. It would be great if I could get all of the goodness of XML editing for the embedded XSL code as well without having to temporarily remove the CDATA tags, or copy the CDATA content into a temporary file. Example: <root> <someTag><![CDATA[ <xsl:template match="/"> <!-- XSL content here --> </xsl:template> ]]> </someTag> </root> Note that the name of the tag (in the example, someTag) containing the content could be anything. We also sometimes embed Javascript inside CDATA regions as well, and again, it would be nice to turn on Javascript syntax highlighting for those regions. Again, the tag the data is embedded in is usually arbitrary and can be anything.

Essentially, I would like to truncate a string such that it its length is not longer than a given value. I am writing to a database table and want to ensure that the values I write meet the constraint of the column's datatype. For instance, it would be nice if I could write the following: string NormalizeLength(string value, int maxLength) { return value.Substring(0, maxLength); } Unfortunately, this raises an exception because maxLength exceeds the string boundaries.   Hi, I am trying to dynamically load a progressive jpeg using actionscript 3. To do so, I have created a class called Progressiveloader that creates a URLStream and uses it to streamload the progressive jpeg bytes into a byteArray. Everytime the byteArray grows, I use a Loader to loadBytes the byteArray. This works, to some extent, because if I addChild the Loader, I am able to see the jpeg as it is streamed, but I am unable to access the Loader's content and most importantly, I can not change the width and height of the Loader. After a lot of testing, I seem to have figured out the cause of the problem is that until the Loader has completely loaded the jpg, meaning until he actually sees the end byte of the jpg, he does not know the width and height and he does not create a content DisplayObject to be associated with the Loader's content. My question is, would there be a way to actually know the width and height of the jpeg before it is loaded? P.S.: I would believe this would be possible, because of the nature of a progressive jpeg, it is loaded to it's full size, but with less detail, so size should be known. Even when loading a normal jpeg in this way, the size is seen on screen, except the pixels which are not loaded yet are showing as gray. Thank You.

• How do I copy files repository to new folder with PHP

  I have a folder named "repository" in my admin folders. This folder holds 2 files: index.html and content.php. When a user creates a new page the php creates a new folder specified by the user then will need to copy the two files into that folder while leaving them in the repository. copy(file,dest) does not work. rename(file,dest) moves the files to the new folder but I lose them in the repository. How do I copy the files in one folder to the new folder without losing the files in the original folder? $dest = '../'.$menuLocation.'/'.$pageName; $file1= "repository/index.html"; $file2= "repository/content.php"; mkdir($dest,0777); rename($file1,$dest.'/index.html'); rename($file2,$dest.'/content.php'); $menuLocation and $pageName are supplied by the user. The files are there, file_exists returns back true. Also, the directory is created with no issues. rename() also works I just lose the files in repository.

  Greetings, I get the feeling that I'm using ruby in an ugly way and possibly missing out on tonnes of useful features. I was wondering if anyone could point out a cleaner better way to write my code which is pasted here. The code itself simply scrapes some data from yelp and processes it into a json format. The reason I'm not using hash.to_json is because it throws some sort of stack error which I can only assume is due to the hash being too large (It's not particularly large). • Prevent box shadow from showing on a specific side

The AJAX fires fine, the server returns valid JSON but the console.log(json); returns undefined and the js crashes when it gets to json.pagename. The first console.log(parsed) also returns good data so it's just a problem with the return (I think). I knew I was clutching at straws and would be extremely if this worked, but it doesn't. To be honest, I don't know how to program callback functions for this situation. Any help is greatly appreciated!
