    I have a defines.wxi-file which contains some good definitions used in all my wxs-files. When I attempt to reference the defined value I get Undefined preprocessor variable '$(var.MAGE_FOLDER)' back in my face. I guess there is something trivial I am missing here...     Just I started learning MVC pattern,ofcourse i am learning it from Microsoft's website.Just i want to gather quiz information from the experts. My understanding is (correct me then and there) 1 ) MVC does not support server side events ,but supports client side events.if it supports client side events,i need html page with jQuery/Javascript (view),but most of the example i absorbed is to display the information(model) in view ,i did not see any client side event handling happens in view. 2) Except ViewState and controlState,MVC supports Sessions,Application State management,Cache management. 3) When request goes to MVC engine ,the routing module routes the request that is picked up by the controller.The controller in executes the appropriate action and return the appropriate view.

  • Need to upload binary to test in-app purchase?

    Opinion seems to be split on whether an app binary is required to be uploaded to iTunes Connect before a testing an in-app purchase. I've created the app (no binary uploaded yet), created the in-app purchase, enabled by App ID for in-app purchase and marked the purchase "available for sale". I've followed the instructions in the guide as far as I can tell. However, when I try it on my device I am unable to retrieve the products - SKProductRequest returns my request product as invalid. Any suggestions what I need to do? Does the in-app purchase product need to "Developer Approved" for this to work? Any definitive answer on whether a binary needs to be uploaded? I would like to avoid that if possible but am willing to do it if required.

For small grammars I got good results by calling _recognition.RequestRecognizerUpdate() and then doing the unload of the old grammar and loading of a rebuilt grammar in the event: void Recognition_RecognizerUpdateReached(object sender, RecognizerUpdateReachedEventArgs e) For large grammars this becomes too expensive.

  • Is it normal for a programmer with 2 years experience to take a long time to code simple programs?

    Hi all, I'm a relatively new programmer (18 months on the scene), and I'm finally getting to the point where I'm comfortable accepting projects and developing solutions under minimal supervision. Unfortunately, this also means that I've become acutely aware of my performance shortfalls, the most prevalent of which is the amount of time it takes me to develop, test, and submit algorithms for review. A great example of what I'm talking about occurred this week when I was tasked with developing a simple XML web service (asp.net 3.5) callable via client-side JavaScript, that accepts a single parameter and returns a dataset output to a modal window (please note this is the first time I've had to develop a web service and have had ZERO experience creating/consuming them...let alone calling them from JS client side). Keeping a long story short -- I worked on it for 4 days straight, all day each day, for a grand total of 36 hours, not including the time I spent dwelling on the problem in the shower, the morning commute, and laying awake in bed at night. I learned a great deal about web services and xml/json/javascript...but was called in for a management review to discuss the length of time it took me to develop the solution. In the meeting, I was praised for the quality of my work and was in fact told that my effort was commendable. However, they (senior leads and pm's) weren't impressed with the amount of time it took me to develop the solution and expressed that they would have liked to see the solution in roughly 1/3 of the time it took me. I guess what concerns me the most is that I've identified this pattern as common for myself. Between online videos, book research, and trial/error coding...if its something I haven't seen before, I can spend up to two weeks on a problem that seems to only take the pros in the videos moments to code up. And of course, knowing that management isn't happy with this pattern has shaken me up a bit. To sum up, I have some very specific questions I'd like to ask, and would greatly appreciate your objective professional feedback. Is my experience as a junior programmer common among new developers? Or is it possible that I'm just not cut out for the work? If you suspect that my experience is not common and that there may be an aptitude issue, do you have any suggestions/solutions that I could propose to management to help bring me up to speed? Do seasoned, professional programmers ever encounter knowledge barriers that considerably delay deliverables? When you started out in the industry, did you know how to "do it all"? If not, how long did it take you to be perceived as "proficient"? Was it a natural progression of trial and error, or was there a particular zen moment when you knew you had achieved super saiyen power level? Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read my question(s). I don't know if this is the right place to ask for professional career guidance, but I greatly appreciate your willingness to help me out. So how do I go about doing something like that?

  • Is this slow WPF TextBlock performance expected?

    Hi, I am doing some benchmarking to determine if I can use WPF for a new product. However, early performance results are disappointing. I made a quick app that uses data binding to display a bunch of random text inside of a list box every 100 ms and it was eating up ~15% CPU. So I made another quick app that skipped the data binding/data template scheme and does nothing but update 10 TextBlocks that are inside of a ListBox every 100 ms (the actual product wouldn't require 100 ms updates, more like 500 ms max, but this is a stress test). I'm still seeing ~10-15% CPU usage. Why is this so high? Is it because of all the garbage strings?   • Problem with View - it does not refresh after db update

    Hi, I am working with small ASP.NET MVC project - online store. I have addToCart method which adds selected product to cart - it updates cart table in my db and showing cart view with its content. But I have problems. While db is updating correctly the view does not. I see that quantity of the product in my db is incremented correctly but quantity in view is not changed. I have to stop debugging my app in visual studia and restart it - then my view is showing correct data. What can be wrong?

I also want to include the hierachly structure of the categories. So if we have a leave node, recusivly go up to the top node. I also put the videos on my product pages but I want to build a separate video page and link them all together.. I have almost 200 videos that i want my customers to be able to easily navigate through (like thumbnails). I also think that this will help my internal link structure.   • Mysql results sorted by list which is unique for each user

    Ive got a table of thousands of products and 50 or so authenticated users. These users all show the products on their own web sites and they all require the ability to have them ordered differently. Im guesing i need some kind of seperate table for the orders which contains the product_id, user_id and order column? How do i do this the most efficiently in mysql so as to be very fast, and not slow down if i get millions of products in the database. Is it even wise to do it in mysql or should i be using some kind of other index like solr/lucene? My Product table is called "products" My User table is called "users" A good example of the functionality i need is google search where you can order/supress the results if you are logged in. edit: the product results will be paginated and the users have the authority to edit the products, so its not just ready only

This table is simple 3 column table : name, product and price. What I wanna do is: Put all records belonging to one customer together (I've done it) and just after these rows add one new extra row which would just show total price of all the products each customer has purchased. This row would have empty cell in name and product column. And would have total in price column.

    Hi, I'm making an app for fun and would like to know how to implement a checkout/basket system on the app. Basically, a list of products is pulled in from a web server in form of XML file, which is then displayed in a UITableView controller. A tap on the cell takes the user to a more detailed overview of the product. The app would need to be able to get the product into a basket type thing, and this is where I'm getting stuck.     I'm trying desperately to find a software licensing model that would allow me to make my product completely open to the public domain for personal use/modification, but would be able to be sold commercially. I know such a beast exists, and I'm sure in many flavors. I just can't find it. ;( What I'm hoping for is a way to allow people the opportunity to benefit from the product in an "open source" fashion, while still allowing me to have a revenue on it to be able to continue development full time.   • Is it possible to compile IronRuby code to a .NET assembly (EXE or DLL)

    My scenario consists of the following points. I have a packaged software product I am developing in C# Since it is a packaged product, the public interfaces of the assemblies need to be tightly controlled... All assemblies are strong-named Any classes that don't absolutely have to be "public" are "internal" I want to write unit tests for those "internal" classes, since they are the bulk of the code And finally.... I want to try writing the unit tests in Ruby. Since the unit tests would be external to the assembly containing the code under test, the assemblies under test would each need to have an "InternalsVisibleTo" attribute specifying the name of the unit test assembly. Which of course would mean that the Ruby unit tests would have to compile down to a .NET assembly so they can be given access in this way. Can this be done? If so, how? All I can find on the web about "compiling IronRuby" is about building the actual IronRuby runtime from source.

    Hi I am trying to integrate Django-Paypal onto a site, where once the customer makes a payment I need to send a dynamic URL from which the user can download some specific information. I am registering all users to a URL which allows them to buy the document. The URL which can only be accessed by a registered user with a verified email ids using django-registration, allows the user to connect to paypal and make payment. How do I capture the signal and verify which user has made the payment for which product he/she is purchased, based on this information 1) I need to know two information, which user made the payment, and for which product did he or she make the payment? 2) Only if I have these information can I send the right UR:L by email. Any help appreciated. I am not very sure how django-signals work. What all details does payment_was_successful signal return? I am using IPN
