• insert a BLOB via a sql script ?

  Hi, I have an H2 database (http://www.h2database.com) and I'd like to insert a file into a BLOB field via a plain simple sql script (to populate a test database for instance). I know how to do that via the code but I cannot find how to do the sql script itself. I tried to pass the path , i.e. INSERT INTO mytable (id,name,file) VALUES(1,'file.xml',/my/local/path/file.xml); but this fails. Within the code (java for instance), it's easy to create a File object and pass that in, but directly from a sql script, I'm stuck... Any idea ? David

I've listed where the breakpoint is - (I've placed one on every line of code in the area) Now at this point, success = NO, and looking back through the code, I reach the first line. XCode tells me that the url variable is out of scope with code 0x15db010. What does this mean?

  I am working on an installer for a new version of my project (C#). Previously, I've used Inno Setup to create .exe files for installing my projects on other computers in the workplace. While reading through some tutorials, though, I came across Windows Installer XML, which uses XML files to build a .msi installer. My project will be available on a network share that all the employees have access to so they can install the software (I'm currently working on an update checker as well) What are the major differences between .exe and .msi installers? Why would I want to chose one over the other? Would either make more sense given my specific environment? I found some of the information at this question, but there was not a lot of information.

  Hi, I need some ideas for a weekend project about Hadoop and OpenStreetMap. I have access to AWS EC2 instance with OpenStreetMap snapshot in my EBS volume. The OpenStreetMap data is in a PostgreSQL database. What kind of MapReduce function can be run on the OpenStreetMap data, assuming I can export them into xml format, and then place into HDFS ? In other words, I am having a brain cramp at the moment, and cannot think what kind of MapReduce operation that can extract valuable insight from the OpenStreetMap xml? (i.e. extract all the places designated as park or golf course. But this needs to be done once only, not continuously) Many Thanks

  Hi, I am trying to parse a XML File using NSXMLParser, I also have a Container class, in which I have a few instance variables. One of the elements that I am trying to parse in the XML is: <book sn="32.859669048339128" pn="-116.917800670489670"> I am trying to save the value of sn and pn in an instance variable of object Container: NSNumber *sn, NSNumber *pn. I want it so that when my parser get the attributeValues it can save it as a Double (or float) in those NSNumber pointers. Right now, all it does it just saves a string to the NSNumber. The Parser Code looks like this: if([elementName isEqualToString:@"book"]){ container = [[Container alloc] init]; container.sn=[attributeDict objectForKey:@"sn"]; container.pn=[attributeDict objectForKey:@"pn"]; } I want it so that the type of container.sn is initialized to a float or double. So my question is simple, are WCF Data Services designed to be used via clients? Or has anyone ever heard of someone using them on the server side? Simple scenario a general layered architecture using BO business objects (parenthesis indicate what is being passed between layers) (XML) WCF Service - (BO)Business Logic - (BO) Dao - Entity Framework or using data services it would be where DS BO are modeled business entities to be used in data service. (XML) WCF Service -(BO) Business Logic - (BO) WCF Data Service - (DS BO)Server I can't see a use for the later, unless there are going to be a lot of cases people would be accessing your data via your Data Service Layer vs the Service layer? Thoughts anyone? I have not seen any mention of using DS from within a Service Layer....

The web service is running on Glassfish and is soap 1.1, I've tried using all the packaged wcf bindings but have not been able to get them to work. I started down the path of using a MessageInspector, and wrote one but then realized there must be a better way, surely WCF provides some way to insert saml 2.0 assertions. I've made the most progress writing a custom binding - i've been able to get the timestamp and signature nodes in the soap header, but cannot for the life of me figure out the saml assertion. To retrieve an instance of SharedPreferences that the preference hierarchy in this activity will use, call getDefaultSharedPreferences(android.content.Context) with a context in the same package as this activity. But how I get the name of the SharedPreference in another Activity? I can only call getSharedPreferences(name, mode) in the other activity but I need the name of the SharedPreference which was used by the PreferenceActivity. What is the name or how can i retrieve it?

  Hi, I've got a C# web application which I can't easily update the code of. However, I can make configuration changes to the application. The application calls out to a third-party ASMX web service, and I really need (if at all possible) to log the full XML requests and responses. I have no control over the web service so I have to do it from the client. I'm not using WCF - this is standard ASMX web service calls. Is there any way I can log the XML requests and responses from the client web app without having to redeploy the code? Thanks in advance John

  Hello, I have to import some XML data into my app. Now I open a UIActionSheet and add as a subview a UIActivityIndicatorView. Initially I show a progress wheel and a button with 'Cancel'. When the XML has been imported, I want to hide the progress wheel (this it's easy) and change the button into a 'Done' button, all in the same UIActionSheet. What I'm doing now is closing the UIActionSheet with the option dismissWithClickedButtonIndex, but I don't like this way because it's the same as pressing 'Cancel', and then I show an UIAlertView displaying "All data has been imported".   i have Exchange2007. and i am using the url: "https://exchange2007.exchange.server.com/Exchange/username/calendar"; 'calendar', or 'mailbox'( in your language! example, "boite de reception" in french or "calendário" in portuguese) with that url that i'm using i can list my ressources, but can't send a mail or write an appointement! why?!? See that i get a response of the server 207multistatus and ok, but the return a HTTP/1.1 404 Resource Not Found i wish a 201 created!!! (for my appointement) someone have better ideia ? thx.   i have 4 tabs on my main screen, main ( set to current ) , Call, Email, Web When a user clicks on any of tab call, email or web, it starts making a call, or go to compose a email, or opens up the browser respectfully. • Rails accepts_nested_attributes_for and build_attribute with polymorphic relationships

  The core of this question is where build_attribute is required in a model with nested attribuites I'm working with a few models that are setup like: class Person < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :contact accepts_nested_attributes_for :contact, :allow_destroy=> true end class Contact < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :person has_one :address, :as=>:addressable accepts_nested_attributes_for :address, :allow_destroy=> true end class Address < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :addressable, :polymorphic=>true end I have to define the new method of people_controller like: def new @person = Person.new @person.build_contact @person.contact.build_address #!not very good encapsulation respond_to do |format| format.html # new.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @person } end end Without @person.contact.build_address the address relationship on contact is NIL. I don't like having to build_address in people_controller. That should be handled by Contact. Where do I define this in Contact since the contacts_controller is not involved here?
