  • Java: Finding objects in collections.

    This problem occurs over and over. I have some complicated object, such as a Cat, which has many properties, such as age, favorite cat food, and so forth. A bunch of Cats are stored in a Java Collection, and I need to find all the Cats that are aged 3, or those whose favorite cat food is Whiskas. Surely, I can write a custom method that finds those Cats with a specific property, but this gets cumbersome with many properties; is there some generic way of doing this?

  • iPhone: Grouped tables and navigation controller issues

    Hi there, I've set up a grouped table on my app, and pushing to new views works fine. Except for one thing. The titles and stack layout are all weird. Here's the breakdown: I have two sections in my table. When I tap on the first row in the first section, it takes me to the correct view, but the title of the new view is the name of the first row in the second section of the table. In turn, the second row in the first section's title is the second row in the second section's title. If I tap on the second row in the second section of the root view table, the navigation button goes to the second row in the first section of the table. So here's a diagram of my table: Table Section 1 Row 1 Row 2 Row 3 Table Section 2 Row A Row B Row C So if I tap on row 3, the title of the pushed view is Row C. The navigation button tells me to go back to Row 3, then eventually ending up at the root view. Even better if it came together with some tutorial. Vendor is not that relevant, as long as one can connect using a generic JDBC client.

  • iPhone SDK: Know when tab on Tab Bar is clicked?

    I have a tab bar which displays different views when clicked. When you click a tab for the first time, it calls the viewDidLoad method. But, it only calls that the first time. Is there a method that is called when a user clicks back to that tab, since the viewDidLoad won't be called that second time? (I need to do this to update a UITableView when the user clicks back to a tab)

    I have something like this in one of my views <li <?php $isCurrent ? echo 'class="current"' : ''?> > <a href="SOME_LINK" class="SOME_CLASS">SOME_TEXT</a> </li> This causes a syntax error, unexpected T_ECHO. Changing echo for print solves the issue, but I would like to understand why I cannot use echo.

  • Is there an easy way to change iPhone Application Settings from within an application?

However, I'd like to be able to change my app settings from within my app. It seems as though there should be some kind of generic way to add this functionality to my app without having to recreate all the controls myself. I mean, the code is already written in apple's settings app. Maybe someone wrote this code and open sourced it? (if it is not already available)

The problem is that before after submission a blank page is returned informing that the request is being processed, after a few seconds the page is redirected to the final page.     Hi, when using scaffolding on a controller the views render fine and the app even attempts to insert the data; the problem is that the scaffold is completely ignoring the relations I'm defining in my model class, in fact it's ignoring the class entirely as I can delete the file and the controller still scaffolds and render the crud from the table.   • How to achieve a hidden status bar using three20 framework

    I'm using the TTThumbsViewController section of the three20 framework, and I have the status bar hidden throughout my application. When the user views the full size image, taps the screen(hiding the controls), when they tap again the controls reappear but the status bar is there too. I've searched through the whole library and been unable to isolate the section where this is happening. I'd love it if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks, BB
