According to the files' properties, I am not the owner and cannot change the permissions. All of my other local gems are accessible without permissions problems, so this is odd. • Load application context problem in Maven managed spring-test TestNg

  I try to setup a project with spring-test using TestNg in Maven. The code is like: @ContextConfiguration(locations={"test-context.xml"}) public class AppTest extends AbstractTestNGSpringContextTests { @Test public void testApp() { assert true; } } A test-context.xml simply defined a bean: <bean id="app" class="org.sonatype.mavenbook.simple.App"/> I got error for Failed to load ApplicationContext when running mvn test from command line, seems it cannot find the test-context.xml file; however, I can get it run correctly inside Eclipse (with TestNg plugin). So, test-context.xml is under src/test/resources/, how do I indicate this in the pom.xml so that 'mvn test' command will work? Thanks, UPDATE: Thanks for the reply. Cannot load context file error was caused by I moved the file arround in different location since I though the classpath was the problem. • ASP.NET MVC Strongly Typed Partial View, gives could not load type error

  I am attempting to create a strongly typed view with a "MVC View User Control" that is being rendered using Html.RenderPartial(). The top of my ascx file looks like this: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<System.Collections.IEnumerable<string>>" %> There is nothing else on this page, currently. When I execute the app and load the page that renders this control, I get the following error: Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<System.Collections.IEnumerable<string>>'. So, then I simplified it: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<String>" %> And then, just in case it needed to be fully qualified: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<System.String>" %> Everytime I get the same error (substituting type). what am I doing wrong here? I'm on .NET 3.5 with ASP.NET MVC 1.0 RTM.

  We got some code that implement printing using Printdocument and it does all the drawing directly on the Graphics object received in the PrintEventArgs. It would be more convenient if the code doing the drawing used another canvas and we would add this canvas to the PrintEventArgs Graphics after. Since the code already depends on the Graphics object I need a canvas with this object. I also need a way to copy the canvas onto the PrintEventArgs Graphics. I can create a Graphicsfrom an Image but as far as I know it needs to be stored on the disk. Any suggestions?

  I'd like to be able to control the system microphone volume from the browser. I know that the microphone can be recorded from using Flash or Silverlight, but these don't allow control of the microphone volume. (Flash has Microphone.gain, but as its just a software multiplier, it doesn't help when the system mic volume is muted or too loud.) I've heard that HTML5 will have some sort of microphone access, but whether it will allow volume control is unclear to me. At any rate, I don't think any browsers support it yet. Are there any plugins that would allow volume control? The old Google Gears project has some AudioApi docs, though these don't seem to have made it into the actual plugin. There's also the Google Talk plugin- it seems to do some kind of gain control, but its unclear if there's an api to the plugin. Perhaps there's a draft HTML5 implementation plugin for microphone access (like indexeddb, for example)?

  I have an application with a proxy class for my webservice - This works fine in all 32-bit machines. However the same app throws an exception in windows server 2008 64-bit machine. • Is MEF an all-or-nothing affair?

  I've had a few questions about MEF recently, but here's the big one -- is it really all-or-nothing, as it appears to be? My basic application structure is simply an app, several shared libraries that are intended to be singletons, and several different plugins (which may implement different interfaces). The app loads the plugins, and both the app and all plugins need to access the shared libraries. My first go at MEF was fairly successful, although I made some stupid mistakes along the way because I was trying so many different things, I just got confused at times. But in the end, last night I got my smallish test app running with MEF, some shared libraries, and one plugin. Now I'm moving onto the target app, which I already described. And it's the multiple plugins part that has be a bit worried. My existing application already supports multiple plugins with different interfaces by using Reflection. I need to be able to uniquely identify each plugin so that the user can select one and get the expected behavior exposed by that plugin. The problem is that I don't know how to do this yet... but that's the topic of a different question. Ideally, I'd be able to take my existing plugin loader and use it as-is, while relying on MEF to do the shared library resolution. The problem is, I can't seem to get MEF to load them (i.e. I get a CompositionException when calling ComposeParts()) unless I also use MEF to load the plugin. And if I do this, well... then I need to know how to keep track of them as they get loaded so the user can select one from a list of plugins. What have your experiences been with trying to mix and match these approaches?

When I run the grails app via "grails run-war", the db connection string defined in the tnsnames.ora file doesn't seem to be picked up: grails prod run-war -Dserver.port=62215 -Doracle.net.tns_admin=C:\drivers\Netowrk\ It seems the name-value pair of oracle.net.tns_admin is not being passed to the JVM used by the the embedded Tomcat that comes with Grails 1.2.0. If not, what is the proper way of specify it, or pass any JAVA_OPTS to the underlying JVM?

• How to separate ear classloader and system classloader in JBoss 6?

  I'm trying to upgrade from JBoss 4.2.1 to JBoss 6. In JBoss 4.2.1, we are manually deploying our application as an exploded war and everything works beautifully. I'm running into problems because the application that I am trying to deploy uses versions of 3rd party libraries that are older than the ones that JBoss 6 now includes by default. The result of this is that I'm getting classloader conflicts all over the place and the application won't even start. At present, I have tried using the JBoss Classloading Documentation as well as the scanty bits of documentation for jboss-classloading.xml and haven't had any success. Has anyone out there managed to do this successfully? If you have, how did you do it? I've included a stack trace below in case it offers any useful information. • loading js files and other dependent js files asynchronously

  I'm looking for a clean way to asynchronously load the following types of javascript files: a "core" js file (hmm, let's just call it, oh i don't know, "jquery!" haha), x number of js files that are dependent on the "core" js file being loaded, and y number of other unrelated js files. I have a couple ideas of how to go about it, but not sure what the best way is. I'd like to avoid loading scripts in the document body. So for example, I want the following 4 javascript files to load asynchronously, appropriately named: /js/my-contact-page-js-functions.js // unrelated/independent script /js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js // the "core" script /js/jquery.color.min.js // dependent on jquery being loaded http://thirdparty.com/js/third-party-tracking-script.js // another unrelated/independent script But this won't work because it's not guaranteed that jQuery is loaded before the color plugin...
