• Can't find .Net 2.0 XML Schema

  I'm currently setting up an application config for a WPF application written in .Net 4.0. The connection string in the app.config is encrypted like so: <connectionStrings configProtectionProvider="DataProtectionConfigurationProvider"> <EncryptedData> <CipherData> <CipherValue>CypherValue</CipherValue> </CipherData> </EncryptedData> </connectionStrings> To use the EncryptedData element I need to include the XMLNS "http://schemas.microsoft.com/.NetConfiguration/v2.0". Attempting to include it produces an error as the schema cannot be found. Is there a way to include the schema or perhaps a different element I could use instead of EncryptedData?

  I have trouble setting multiple shadows on one element in webkit: -moz-box-shadow: inset 0 0 3px #999, 0 0 5px #fff; -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0 0 3px #999, 0 0 5px #fff; box-shadow: inset 0 0 3px #999, 0 0 5px #fff; it works fine in firefox but safari displays only the inset shadow. i tried to set both values separately. But safari takes just count of the last value: -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0 0 3px #999; -webkit-box-shadow: 0 5px #fff; is it possible to set more then one shadow on a single element in safari/webkit?

ReadyToStart Not Ready for Start I want to find the first Status that is not "OK". I have attempted this: =Match("<>""OK""", StatusRange, 0) which is supposed to return the index of the first element in the range that is NOT-EQUAL (<) to "OK" But this doesn't work, instead returning #N/A. I expect it to return 4 (index #4, in a 1-based index, representing that CheckedIn is the first non-OK element) Any ideas how to do this?

  I have a simple PHP script that will either serve up a streaming ASF file or not, depending on whether you're logged in and have access to the file. It basically does this: <?php header('Content-Type: video/x-ms-asf'); header('Content-Disposition: inline; filename="file.asf"'); readfile('file.asf'); ?> This already works fine in Firefox; when you navigate to this file it starts the video streaming right away. But Internet Explorer is a different story. When I go to this link in IE, it consistently tries to download the file as if it were an attachment rather than streaming it in the browser. What I am missing that IE's getting hung up on?

• Script Errors in Silverlight WebBrowser Control

  Hi, I am showing a HTML page with a Flash video player on it in a Silverlight app using the WebBrowser control. The site itself is displayed perfectly and everything works just fine. But when I want to close the player component, I somehow need to completely dispose the current HTML page with the flash player. I tried navigating to about:blank, or even to other pages like google.com before the player component is hidden. But the flash video keeps on playing and the WebBrowser shows several Script Errors, which must be clicked in order to really leave the flash page. Is there any way to instantly "clear" the WebBrowser control or to surpress the Script Errors so that it leaves the html/flash page? In WPF there seem to be some methods for that, but I couldnt find any on the Silverlight WebBrowser control. Any hints are appreciated, Whiskas

  I have an array in Perl I want to print with space delimiters between each element, except every 10th element which should be newline delimited. There aren't any spaces in the elements if that matters. I've written a function to do it with for and a counter, but I wondered if there's a better/shorter/canonical Perl way, perhaps a special join syntax or similar. • Python: Remove items from a list while iterating in Python

  My problem is simple: I have a long list of elements that I want to iterate through and check every element against a condition. Depending on the outcome of the condition I would like to delete the current element of the list, and continue iterating over it as usual. I have read a few other threads on this matter. Two solutions seam to be proposed. Either make a dictionary out of the list (which implies making a copy of all the data that is already filling all the RAM in my case). Either walk the list in reverse (which breaks the concept of the alogrithm I want to implement). • LinqToXML why does my object go out of scope? Also should I be doing a group by?

  Hello All, I have an IEnumerable<someClass>. I need to transform it into XML. There is a property called 'ZoneId'. I need to write some XML based on this property, then I need some decendent elements that provide data relevant to the ZoneId. I know I need some type of grouping. Here's what I have attempted thus far without much success. **inventory is an IEnumerable<someClass>. So I query inventory for unique zones. This works ok. var zones = inventory.Select(c => new { ZoneID = c.ZoneId , ZoneName = c.ZoneName , Direction = c.Direction }).Distinct(); No I want to create xml based on zones and place. ***place is a property of 'someClass'. var xml = new XElement("MSG_StationInventoryList" , new XElement("StationInventory" , zones.Select(station => new XElement("station-id", station.ZoneID) , new XElement("station-name", station.ZoneName)))); This does not compile as "station" is out of scope when I try to add the "station-name" element. However is I remove the paren after 'ZoneId', station is in scope and I retreive the station-name. Only problem is the element is then a decendant of 'station-id'. This is not the desired output. They should be siblings. What am I doing wrong? Lastly after the "station-name" element, I will need another complex type which is a collection. Call it "places'. It will have child elements called "place". its data will come from the IEnumerable and I will only want "places" that have the "ZoneId" for the current zone. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is it a mistake select distinct zones from the original IEnumerable? This object has all the data I need within it. I just need to make it heirarchical. • jQuery 1.4.2 and IE6: change event not firing first time using keyboard

  I've done a good amount of research on this and found a bunch of reported problems and solutions but the general consensus seems that all change problems in IE6 were fixed in jQuery 1.4.2. I'm having an issue where a change event is not firing in jQuery 1.4.2, but it did fire successfully in jQuery 1.3.2. This is in IE6. I'm about to submit a bug for this, but for my sanity I wanted to post it here first to see if there's something dumb I'm missing. The page loads, the focus is in the drop down, you change the option, you get the alert. The problem is if you use the keyboard. The page loads, the focus is in the drop down, you press the down arrow. The option changes. Tab off the field, no alert. Weird. To make it even weirder, if you tab back into the field and change it again (all using the keyboard), the change event DOES fire after tab out this time. Any ideas?

By locks I mean any thread synchronization mechanisms, including Mutex, Semaphore, and even Interlocked, all of them. Is it possible at user level, without calling system functions? Ok, may be implementation is not effective, i am interested in theoretical possibility. If not what is the minimum means to do it? EDIT: Why immutable collections don't work.   I'm working on a website that has a lot of transparency involved, and I thought I would try to build it entirely in RGBA and then do fallbacks for IE. I need a "facebox" style border effect, where the outer border is rounded and is less opaque than the background of the box it surrounds. The last example from http://24ways.org/2009/working-with-rgba-colour seems to suggest that it's possible, but I can't seem to get it to work. This is exactly the opposite of what I am trying to achieve, but it seems like it should be possible based on the examples I've seen. I should also add that I can't use another element inside the container, because I'm also going to use a border-radius on the container to get rounded corners, and webkit squares the corners of the child elements if they have a background assigned, which would essentially mean a rounded outer border with square contents.   you guys ever saw that FB scrapes the link you post on facebook (status, message etc.) live right after you paste it in the link field and displays various metadata, a thumb of the image, various images from the a page link or a video thumb from a video related link (like youtube). any ideas how one would copy this function? i'm thinking about a couple gearman workers or even better just javascript that does a xhr requests and parses the content based on regex's or something similar... any ideas? any links? did someone already tried to do the same and wrapped it in a nice class? anything? :) thanks!

• Why will show() only work for fields that are hidden using inline css?

  I am hiding an element using inline css, like so: <span class="hidden-nojs" style="display:none">Some text</span> Next I use jQuery to show the element, like so: $(".hidden-nojs").show(); This works great. As soon as I remove the inline css and put display:none on the external css stylesheet for the hidden-nojs class, it stops working. This is what I wrote in the external stylesheet: .hidden-nojs { display: none; } I'm assuming that the external stylesheet loads after the jQuery has already run? This is somewhat annoying as I would like to hide multiple elements with css and would like to avoid using inline css. Why will show() only work for fields that are hidden using inline css? How can I fix this problem?

• Prototype to JQuery - how to access originator of event

  Hi there I'm coming from a Prototype background and looking into JQuery. I'd like to know the 'right' way to do attach a click event to a bunch of elements, but then know in the event handler which one of my elements was clicked. I've come up with the following: MYNS.CarouselHelper.prototype.attachImgHandlers = function () { $j(".carouselItem").bind("click", this, function(e){ e.data.openCarouselImage(e) }); } I then have the following in my event handler: MYNS.CarouselHelper.prototype.openCarouselImage = function(e) { var img = e.currentTarget; // Do stuff to the image element }; Is this 'right'? It feels wrong to me as I am used to explicitly passing the element to the event handler in Prototype as I loop through an array of elements. Thanks in advance.
