  • Frequent error in Oracle ORA-04068: existing state of packages has been discarded

    - by martilyo
    Hi, We're getting this error once a day on a script that runs every two hours, but at different times of the day. ERROR at line 1: ORA-04068: existing state of packages has been discarded ORA-04061: existing state of package body "PACKAGE.NAME" has been invalidated ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "PACKAGE.NAME" ORA-06512: at line 1 Could someone list what conditions can cause this error so that we could investigate? Thanks. UPDATE: Would executing 'ALTER SESSION CLOSE DATABASE LINK DBLINK' invalidate a state of the package?

  • How can you unit test a DelegateCommand

    - by Damian
    I am trying to unit test my ViewModel and my SaveItem(save, CanSave) delegate command. I want to ensure that CanSave is called and returns the correct value given certain conditions. Basically, how can I invoke the delegate command from my unit test, actually it's more of an integration test. Obviously I could just test the return value of the CanSave method but I am trying to use BDD to the letter, ie. no code without a test first.

  • Where does _CrtDbgReportW ouput in Windows Mobile?

    - by Ignas Limanauskas
    I am using ASSERTE macro to check for pre-conditions. According to its definition it is using ASSERT_BASE, which in turn calls _CrtDbgReportW to print out the message. Where does _CrtDbgReportW output goes to? I would assume that if the application is started from debugger, it would go to debugger window. Where would the messages go if it is not under debugger?

  • Power error handling inside of sql function

    - by user172062
    I have a power function call inside of a sql function. What is the correct way to handle overflow and underflow conditions since I cannot use a Try Catch inside of a function. I am also trying to avoid modifying the ARITHABORT, ANSI_WARNINGS, and ARITHIGNORE settings in the calling code. GO CREATE FUNCTION TestPow() RETURNS DECIMAL(30, 14) AS BEGIN DECLARE @result FLOAT SET @result = POWER(10.0, 300) RETURN @result END GO SELECT dbo.TestPow()

  • Deterministic key serialization

    - by Mike Boers
    I'm writing a mapping class which uses SQLite as the storage backend. I am currently allowing only basestring keys but it would be nice if I could use a couple more types hopefully up to anything that is hashable (ie. same requirements as the builtin dict). To that end I would like to derive a deterministic serialization scheme. Ideally, I would like to know if any implementation/protocol combination of pickle is deterministic for hashable objects (e.g. can only use cPickle with protocol 0). I noticed that pickle and cPickle do not match: >>> import pickle >>> import cPickle >>> def dumps(x): ... print repr(pickle.dumps(x)) ... print repr(cPickle.dumps(x)) ... >>> dumps(1) 'I1\n.' 'I1\n.' >>> dumps('hello') "S'hello'\np0\n." "S'hello'\np1\n." >>> dumps((1, 2, 'hello')) "(I1\nI2\nS'hello'\np0\ntp1\n." "(I1\nI2\nS'hello'\np1\ntp2\n." Another option is to use repr to dump and ast.literal_eval to load. This would only be valid for builtin hashable types. I have written a function to determine if a given key would survive this process (it is rather conservative on the types it allows): def is_reprable_key(key): return type(key) in (int, str, unicode) or (type(key) == tuple and all( is_reprable_key(x) for x in key)) The question for this method is if repr itself is deterministic for the types that I have allowed here. I believe this would not survive the 2/3 version barrier due to the change in str/unicode literals. This also would not work for integers where 2**32 - 1 < x < 2**64 jumping between 32 and 64 bit platforms. Are there any other conditions (ie. do strings serialize differently under different conditions)? (If this all fails miserably then I can store the hash of the key along with the pickle of both the key and value, then iterate across rows that have a matching hash looking for one that unpickles to the expected key, but that really does complicate a few other things and I would rather not do it.) Any insights?

  • How to start a ColorAnimation from a MultiTrigger in a ControlTemplate ?

    - by banzai
    Hi all I have the following ControlTemplate for a WPF TabItem: <ControlTemplate x:Key="DefaultTabItemTemplate" TargetType="{x:Type TabItem}"> <ControlTemplate.Resources> <SolidColorBrush x:Key="UnselectedForegroundBrush" Color="#414141" /> <!-- Unique color for this template --> <SolidColorBrush x:Key="SelectedForegroundBrush" Color="#457581" /> <!-- Unique color for this template --> <SolidColorBrush x:Key="MouseOverTextBrush" x:Name="local_MouseOverTextBrush" Color="#FFF2F2F2"/> </ControlTemplate.Resources> <Grid> <Border Name="Border" MinHeight="30" Margin="0,0,0,-1" Background="{DynamicResource TabControlBackgroundBrush}" BorderBrush="{DynamicResource ndt_DisabledForegroundBrush}" BorderThickness="1,1,1,1" CornerRadius="0,0,0,0" > <ContentPresenter x:Name="ContentSite" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center" TextElement.FontStretch="UltraExpanded" TextElement.FontWeight="UltraBlack" ContentSource="Header" Margin="12,2,12,2" RecognizesAccessKey="True" /> </Border> </Grid> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsSelected" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Panel.ZIndex" Value="2" /> <Setter TargetName="Border" Property="Background" Value="{DynamicResource ndt_TabControlBackgroundBrush}" /> <Setter TargetName="Border" Property="BorderThickness" Value="1,1,1,0" /> <Setter TargetName="ContentSite" Property="TextElement.Foreground" Value="{StaticResource SelectedForegroundBrush}" /> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsEnabled" Value="False"> <Setter TargetName="Border" Property="Background" Value="{DynamicResource ndt_DisabledBackgroundBrush}" /> <Setter TargetName="ContentSite" Property="TextElement.Foreground" Value="{DynamicResource ndt_DarkGray}" /> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="{DynamicResource ndt_DisabledForegroundBrush}" /> </Trigger> <MultiTrigger> <MultiTrigger.Conditions> <Condition Property="IsMouseOver" Value="True" /> <Condition Property="IsSelected" Value="False" /> </MultiTrigger.Conditions> <Setter TargetName="Border" Property="Background" Value="{DynamicResource ndt_NavigationAreaBrush}" /> <Setter TargetName="ContentSite" Property="TextElement.Foreground" Value="{DynamicResource MouseOverTextBrush}" /> </MultiTrigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> Everything works fine so far. The MultiTrigger at the end of the template defines a mouse over effect for not selected TabItems. Now I thought the change in color for this mouse over effect looks a bit brash so let´s animate it with a ColorAnimation. But don´t count the chickens before they hatch - everything I tried didn´t work. Maybe I oversee the obvious - but how to achieve this feat ? Thanks in advance banzai

  • Possible to be adequate with respect to decision/condition coverage but not block coverage?

    - by bparker
    Following up on a debate that I was having with a colleague. What is the community's opinion on whether or not a section of code can be adequate with respect to decision coverage (all possible decisions have evaluated to true and false) but not block coverage, and if a section of code can be adequate with respect to condition coverage (each simple condition in a compound conditions has evaluated to true and false) but not block coverage. Thanks.

  • Random record in ActiveRecord

    - by astrofoo
    I'm in need of getting a random record from a table via ActiveRecord. I've followed the example from Jamis Buck from 2006. However, I've also come across another way via a Google search (can't attribute with a link due to new user restrictions): rand_id = rand(Model.count) rand_record = Model.first(:conditions => [ "id >= ?", rand_id]) I'm curious how others on here have done it or if anyone knows what way would be more efficient.

My question is whether the whole merge process will be one transaction or each row comparison/operation will be one transaction? Appreciate if any document to prove it. thanks in advance, George

  • How do I format and apply rails methods to output of Ruport?

    - by Angela
    I am creating a report from Ruport and want to be able to take the grouping heading, in this case the ID for the class Email, and wrap a method around it and a link_to to link to the Email view based on the email_id: @table = ContactEmail.report_table(:all, :conditions => ['date_sent >= ? and date_sent <= ?', @monday, @friday]) @grouping = Grouping(@table, :by => "email_id") How do I do that? It feels as if I have little control over the output.

  • A NSMutableArray is destroying my life!

    - by camilo
    EDITED to show the relevant part of the code Hi. There's a strange problem with an NSMutableArray which I'm just not understanding... Explaining: I have a NSMutableArray, defined as a property (nonatomic, retain), synthesized, and initialized with 29 elements. realSectionNames = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithCapacity:29]; After the initialization, I can insert elements as I wish and everything seems to be working fine. While I'm running the application, however, if I insert a new element in the array, I can print the array in the function where I inserted the element, and everything seems ok. However, when I select a row in the table, and I need to read that array, my application crashes. In fact, it cannot even print the array anymore. Is there any "magical and logical trick" everybody should know when using a NSMutableArray that a beginner like myself can be missing? Thanks a lot. I declare my array as realSectionNames = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithCapacity:29]; I insert objects in my array with [realSectionNames addObject:[category categoryFirstLetter]]; although I know i can also insert it with [realSectionNames insertObject:[category categoryFirstLetter] atIndex:i]; where the "i" is the first non-occupied position. After the insertion, I reload the data of my tableView. Printing the array before or after reloading the data shows it has the desired information. After that, selecting a row at the table makes the application crash. This realSectionNames is used in several UITableViewDelegate functions, but for the case it doesn't matter. What truly matters is that printing the array in the beginning of the didSelectRowAtIndexPath function crashes everything (and of course, doesn't print anything). I'm pretty sure it's in that line, for printing anything he line before works (example): NSLog(@"Anything"); NSLog(@"%@", realSectionNames); gives the output: 2010-03-24 15:16:04.146 myApplicationExperience[3527:207] Anything [Session started at 2010-03-24 15:16:04 +0000.] GNU gdb 6.3.50-20050815 (Apple version gdb-967) (Tue Jul 14 02:11:58 UTC 2009) Copyright 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc. Still not understanding what kind of stupidity I've done this time... maybe it's not too late to follow the career of brain surgeon?

  • What is the best way to findout whether a date falls in particular range?

    - by Amit
    I tried the following DateTime start = Convert.ToDateTime(TextBox1.Text); DateTime end = Convert.ToDateTime(TextBox2.Text); if (DateTime.Now.Date == start.Date || DateTime.Now.Date == end.Date || (DateTime.Now >= start.Date && DateTime.Now <= end.Date)) { lblResult.Text = "true"; } else { lblResult.Text = "false"; } This verifies if the date range is one day also. Any way to reduce the number of conditions above?

  • Why increased pipeline depth does not always mean increased throughput?

    - by worlds-apart89
    This is perhaps more of a discussion question, but I thought stackoverflow could be the right place to ask it. I am studying the concept of instruction pipelining. I have been taught that a pipeline's instruction throughput is increased once the number of pipeline stages is increased, but in some cases, throughput might not change. Under what conditions, does this happen? I am thinking stalling and branching could be the answer to the question, but I wonder if I am missing something crucial.
