• Windows Azure - Microsoft.IdentityModel not found

  I installed WIF runtime and SDK on my machine. I added Microsoft.IdentityModel.dll to my azure web application and locally everything is running great. I build simple web application which use Azure AppFabric Access control. I follow azure labs for that and as I told, local everything is great. When I published my web application to Azure, I'm getting following error : Unable to find assembly 'Microsoft.IdentityModel, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'. I get it after Appfabric Relaying part is going to return url, after sign in on identity provider. The weird thing is that I set Copy Local to TRUE, because that .dll is not part of Azure GAC. I tried to publish it again, but I received same error. I found few same problems on the internet but with no concrete solution. Does anybody here had something similar and probably have a working solution? Thank you in advance

• asp.net mvc validation must be a number custom error

  Hi, I am new to asp.net and I have a problem. When the users insert in a editor for a decimal field something other than numbers, they get an error "Field name" is not a number. But I don't want them to receive this message I want them to receive another message. I have no problem with this with required and range validators. Is there any way for me to do this? I am not refering necessarily to changing the culture just displaying another message. Thanks.

• urlrewriter.net page not executed

  Hello, I'm having some problems with the module urlrewriter.net for ASP.NET. I have a multilingual site with a URL like this; ~/home.aspx To support languages I use this rewrite rule; <rewrite url="~/de-DE/(.*)" to="~/$1"></rewrite> Then in my code I get the de-DE part and set the right culture for the current thread. All of this works well. After I login on the website I get a message "Hello, user x" to show i'm logged in. When navigating to another page, it doesn't display this message anymore and it seems like the page comes from the cache or something with the old (not logged in) data. Also, when I attach the debugger, nothing is executed for this request. If I visit the page like ~/home.aspx instead of ~/de-DE/home.aspx, does problem does not occur. What could be the problem here?   I'm attempting to use the Interactive Brokers ActiveX API, but I'm having a little trouble: error CS0012: The type 'System.Windows.Forms.AxHost' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Windows.Forms, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. My code: namespace DataFeed.Gateway { class IBGateway : IGateway { private AxTWSLib.AxTws tws; //<-- the error line //... } } I have a console application, so I'm wondering if that might be the reason why ActiveX is not working... or is there something else going on here? Maybe I should add the AxTWSlib.dll to the GAC, but do I really have to? If I add the dll as a resource, then I thought that I don't need to add it to the GAC. Note: I've dropped the AxTWSlib.dll in my project folder and I've added it to the project references... no problems there.

• PagedDataSource does not support serialization - how can I enforce this ?

  Sounds like I want to override a physics law, but at least it is the most reasonnable solution, cpu / HDD and Ram effective for my asp.net project. In fact, I got a pageddataSource and a customDataReader that supports paginated data. The truth is my data are in a viewstate variable, because it is re-used in an update panel. When I intend to use it into my pageddatasource, asp.net 3.5 kills me with a System.Web.UI.WebControls.PagedDataSource' in Assembly 'System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' is not marked as serializable. cool exception... So I'd rather not offend newton because I know he'll always win, but I would need some help to enforce this pagedDataSource law, that seems so unbelievable, except if someone has an explanation.

• Visual Studio 2008 resolving wrong reference

  In my project file, I have the following entry: <Reference Include="Microsoft.Practices.Unity, Version=1.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35, processorArchitecture=MSIL"> <HintPath>..\..\..\..\Libraries\Microsoft.Practices.Unity.dll</HintPath> </Reference> which in absolute terms translates to: C:\dev\LUT600 2.1.1\OCC600\Libraries Somehow, when I try to compile the project, Visual Studio loads a reference from a totally different path: /reference:"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Enterprise Library 4.1 - October 2008\Bin\Microsoft.Practices.Unity.dll. How it resolves to this location is a complete mystery as this DLL is not referenced anywhere in this project. I have set Specific Verion to true but it still resolves the reference from this location. Any ideas? TIA. Klaus

• How to get a product key token from a library file programatically?

  I am creating a SharePoint solution project that will install the Telerik dll files into the GAC and write the appropriate lines into the webconfig upon feature activation. My question is, is there a way to get the product key token, version, and culture info of a dll programatically. I have used the System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly() before to get the embedded resources, such as a javascript file, and add it to the appropriate folder. Would this be the same way to get the dll file, and if so what would I do to get the assembly info of an embedded assembly? Thanks for any direction.

  We have a website that is created in VS2005 Recently we upgraded the website to VS2008 with 2.0 framework. While compiling the website Compilation errors are occuring i.e Licenses.licx file is not compiling, if it compile than it will reproduces an AppLicenses.dll. In the licensing.licx file containing one class and a namespace(i.e. OSADirectLicensing.OSADirectLicensedClass, OSADirectLicensing). The compilation error is as follows: Error 1 C:\Program Files\Sharp\Sharp Developer Tools\OSA SDK\Samples\DirectOSA\ExternalAuthority\licenses.licx: Could not transform licenses file into a binary resource. (1) : error LC0004 : Exception occurred creating type 'OSADirectLicensing.OSADirectLicensedClass, OSADirectLicensing, Version=1.0.4006.31768, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null System.ComponentModel.LicenseException: Invalid License at System.ComponentModel.LicenseManager.CreateWithContext(Type type, LicenseContext creationContext, Object[] args) at System.ComponentModel.LicenseManager.CreateWithContext(Type type, LicenseContext creationContext) at System.Tools.LicenseCompiler.GenerateLicenses(String fileContents, String targetPE, ITypeResolutionService resolver, DesigntimeLicenseContext ctx)' . • Assembly Version Conflicts with What is Already Bound

  I'm running Microsoft LightSwitch Beta 1 and have been creating an application which has been going great, but then I tried debugging after making a few minor changes and received the following error: "Could not load file or assembly 'SW_Resources.Commom, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The requested assembly version conflicts with what is already bound in the app domain or specified in the manifest. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131053)" I've tried emptying my cache in Firefox and IE but that doesn't seem to make any difference. I did discover if I right-clicked on the Solution and changed the version from 0.1 to 1.0 then it works fine. I had changed it to 0.1 b/c I wanted to reflect that it wasn't a release version...any thoughts on how to get around this issue the right way?

  I'm having trouble using the Ribbon control from the Office 2007 RibbonControlsLibrary.dll. It works for most people but not for me. The fault I get is: Cannot create instance of 'Ribbon' defined in assembly 'RibbonControlsLibrary, Version=3.5.31016.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'. Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation The problem is probably not with the code since it works for other people. Its the Ribbon class thats causing the problem. If I remove any references to the Ribbon class but keep the references to RibbonWindow I don't get any exceptions. Any help appreciated

• Permission error while trying to access Sql from a web method

  I created a web service which has a few web methods which inturn performs inserts/updates/select from a Sql Server and return non-primitive types. To test the web methods I tried using the Open source tool .net web service studio When I test for the web methods, I get the following error - Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. I searched for solutions and I tried a lot of approaches like setting up the permission levels, the trust level in config file etc. But the error still persists. Can anyone tell me what could be the reason for this error? I have tried toggling the permissions at all levels - Sql Server, web service etc. How can I fix this error?

  I'm referencing the NHibernate dll version 2.1.2-GA, and am unable to compile under Mono 2.8.1. I've tried using NHibernate 3 instead and it compiles fine. A simple example of the code that's failing is NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration cfg = new NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration(); and the error is Error CS0584: Internal compiler error: Could not load type 'NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration' from assembly 'NHibernate, Version=2.1.2.4000, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=aa95f207798dfdb4'. (CS0584) As mentioned it compiles with no problems using NHibernate 3, does anyone have any ideas how to get it working with NHiberate 2.1.2?

  My ASP.Net MVC 2 project references a Domain project where POCO business objects are defined and a Data project where EF 4 POCO persistence is implemented. Things were running well until I had a little fussiness with my version control provider (rollback to previous version left me with merge conflicts). Now, upon launching the MVC 2 project, I get a runtime error: The type 'System.Data.Objects.DataClasses.IEntityWithKey' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data.Entity, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. However, every project references System.Data.Entity (same version). If I remove the reference to System.Data.Entity from the MVC 2 project, I get the same message as a compile-time error. I'm pretty sure something got messed up when I had the version control issue, but really not sure where to look for this one.

  I get the same culture i.e. "en-US" while running the website from both IIS and Visual Studio's web server. If I change the date format there in "Regional and Language Options", I see no effect in my application.

  I have an ASP.NET web site hosted at HostMySite.com and they recently changed the shared accounts to run in medium trust. In my web site I query my Blogger account and get blog posts to display on my web site. I am using Google.GData.Client v1.4.0.2 The retrieval works locally (and worked until medium trust was invoked at the ISP).
