    ContactManager.PostSolve += PostSolve; I am having a problem converting this piece of code from C# to VB.NET. ContactManager.PostSolve is a delegate. I tried the following but it doesn't work, it says PostSolve is not an event of ContactManager: AddHandler ContactManager.PostSolve, AddressOf PostSolve The following works, but this only allows me to have one handler for the delegate: ContactManager.PostSolve = new PostSolveDelegate(AddressOf PostSolve) Is there a way for me to do the same thing in VB that was done in the first piece of code?   • Document generation template engine for production usage NVelocity vs StringTemplate

    For building a document generation engine what would be the primary .NET framework to be used in production. The 2 main ones I see are NVelocity and StringTemplate. NVelocity in all forks to be almost unsupported at this point where as ST been active atleast as of this year. Are either or both of these stable for use in production (if nv which fork)? Has anyone had any particularly good success with or failures using either of those frameworks?

    Is it possible to use the Biztalk adapter pack whithout a Biztalk installation (biztalk license is available)? I want to use the Biztalk Adapter for SAP to do RFC calls within a .NET Application (as a replacement of the SAP Connector for .NET, which is unfrotunately no longer maintened by SAP and I don't want to use third party products). Makes this idea sense or not ? This questions can be also seen in conjunction of my question concerning connecting SAP and Microsoft (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2198168/microsoft-and-sap)

  • Example usage of AX in PHP OpenID

    I'm using JanRain's PHP OpenID library. It comes with example script which is using SReg extension. But I want it to work with Google (and it works for auth actually), but Google uses AX (attribute exchange) instead of SReg for additional data. For some reason, JanRain's library is missing AX support in example script, and code comments in AX script are out of my understanding, though comments in SReg script are clear as 1-2-3. Does anyone know how to implement AX without too much pain?

  • Good example usage of get_or _create in Django views and raising a Form error

    I would like to use get_or_create to check whether an object already exists in my database. If it does not, then it will be created. If it does exist, then I will not create the new object, but need to raise a form error to inform the user that they need to enter different data (for example, a different username). The view contains: p, created = Person.objects.get_or_create( email = registration_form.cleaned_data['email'], defaults = { 'creationDate': datetime.datetime.now(), 'dateOfBirth': datetime.date(1970,1,1) }) So 'p' will contain the existing Person if it exists, or the new Person if not. I would like to act on the boolean value in 'created' in order to skip over saving the Person and re-display the registration_form and raise an appropriate form validation error. The alternative I'm considering is doing a check in a custom Form validation method to see whether a Person exists with the data in the provided 'email' field, and just raising a validation error.

  • What is private bytes, virtual bytes, working set?

    I am using perfmon windows utility to debug memory leak in a process. Perfmon explaination: Working Set- Working Set is the current size, in bytes, of the Working Set of this process. The Working Set is the set of memory pages touched recently by the threads in the process. If free memory in the computer is above a threshold, pages are left in the Working Set of a process even if they are not in use. When free memory falls below a threshold, pages are trimmed from Working Sets. If they are needed they will then be soft-faulted back into the Working Set before leaving main memory. Virtual Bytes- Virtual Bytes is the current size, in bytes, of the virtual address space the process is using. Use of virtual address space does not necessarily imply corresponding use of either disk or main memory pages. Virtual space is finite, and the process can limit its ability to load libraries. Private Bytes- Private Bytes is the current size, in bytes, of memory that this process has allocated that cannot be shared with other processes. Q1. Is it the private byte should I measure to be sure if the process is having any leak as it does not involve any shared libraries and any leak if happening will be coming from the process itself? Q2. What is the total memory consumed by the process? Is it the Virtual byte size? or Is it the sum of Virtual Bytes and Working Set Q3. Is there any relation between private bytes, working set and virtual bytes. Q4. Any tool which gives a better idea memory information?

  • Quick question regarding CSS sprites and memory usage

    Well, it's more to do with images and memory in general. If I use the same image multiple times on a page, will each image be consolidated in memory? Or will each image use a seperate amount of memory? I'm concerned about this because I'm building a skinning system for a Windows Desktop Gadget, and I'm looking at spriting the images in the default skin so that I can keep the file system looking clean. At the same time I want to try and keep the memory footprint to a minimum. If I end up with a single file containing 100 images and re-use that image 100 times across the gadget I don't want to have performance issues. Cheers.

    I been trying to get a cookie and post it to a url in later use in the program, but I cant seem to get the cookie parameters to work. Right now I have response = requests.get("url") But how exactly do I retrive cookies from this url and post them to a new url (the same cookies). The tutorial in requests is somewhat vague on the topic and gives examples I cannot test. Hope someone can help with further examples. This is python 2.7 btw.

    we're considering migrating our UI to XBAP. we've chosen XBAP despite knowing the clients must have .net pre-installed, since we're not targeting the masses but rather IT professionals in the corporate environment, and it's a way to preserve our investment (in a WPF based UI in a client-server architecture) and enjoy web deployment. however, we are concerned about the maturity of the platform/architecture and it's adoption. do you know of any commercial applications out there using XBAP, and do you have any experience using it? can you elaborate on that experience? also, as @Murph suggested, can you think of strong reasons to prefer clickOnce over XBAP (or the other way around)?

  • Help with understanding generic relations in Django (and usage in Admin)

    I'm building a CMS for my company's website (I've looked at the existing Django solutions and want something that's much slimmer/simpler, and that handles our situation specifically.. Plus, I'd like to learn this stuff better). I'm having trouble wrapping my head around generic relations. I have a Page model, a SoftwareModule model, and some other models that define content on our website, each with their get_absolute_url() defined. I'd like for my users to be able to assign any Page instance a list of objects, of any type, including other page instances. This list will become that Page instance's sub-menu. We're on our way. What I'm not sure how to pull off, is on the page instance's change form, how to create the relationship between that page, and any other extant object in the database. My desired end result: to render the following in a template: <ul> {% for link in page.links.all %} <li><a href='{{ link.content_object.get_absolute_url() }}'>{{ link.title }}</a></li> {% endfor%} </ul> Obviously, there's something I'm unaware of or mis-understanding, but I feel like I'm, treading into that area where I don't know what I don't know. I see advantages in having almost all the Interfaces using LocalDateTime (at the Service Layer at least) so that my Application doesn't have to manage Timezones and can safely assume Times always in UTC. My app could then use DateTime to manage Timezones at the very beginning of the Execution's Flow. I'm also wondering in which scenario can DateMidnight be useful.
