  • How can I save an NSDocument concurrently?

    I have a document based application. Saving the document can take a few seconds, so I want to enable the user to continue using the program while it saves the document in the background. Due to the document architecture, my application is asked to save to a temporary location and that temporary file is then copied over the old file. However, this means that I can not just run my file saving code in the background and return way before it is done, since the temporary file has to be written completely before it can be copied. Is there a way to disable this temporary-file-behavior or otherwise enable file saving in the background?

  • RTSP streaming and save into mp4 file using VLC

    Hello All let say i am having one RTSP url (rtsp://192.168.0.17/mpeg4). the live camera is setup on the machine which relay live video. i am streaming it using vlc player and i am saving it in mp4 file on some location (i.e. c:\temp.mp4). Now i am opening another vlc player instance and open this file (c:\temp.mp4). but as it is in use and saving live streaming to that file. that will not be played. if if stop the streaming and then played temp.mp4 file then it will play the streamed (saved) video. Now my requirement is VLC player should also stream and save into temp.mp4 file continuously and at the same time that file should be played in any standard player. is it possible to do with any option using VLC player that we can do both this things simultaneously.     I'm experimenting with PHP's session_set_save_handler and I'd like to use a PDO connection to store session data. ' ' . $data); try { $access = time(); $sql = 'REPLACE INTO sessions SET id=:id, access=:access, data=:data'; logger('This is the last line in this function that appears in the log.'); $stmt = $GLOBALS['db']->prepare($sql); logger('This never gets logged! :('); $stmt->bindParam(':id', $id, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt->bindParam(':access', $access, PDO::PARAM_INT); $stmt->bindParam(':data', $data, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->closeCursor(); return true; } catch (PDOException $e) { logger('This is never executed.'); logger($e->getTraceAsString()); } } The first two log messages always show up, but the third one right after $stmt = $GLOBALS['db']->prepare($sql) never makes it to the log file and there's no trace of an exception either. The sessions db table remains empty. The log message from the _close callback is always present. Here's how I connect to the database: $db = new PDO('mysql:host=' . DBHOST . ';dbname=' . DBNAME, DBUSER, DBPASS); $db->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION); I have PHP 5.2.10. I tried to simply run $GLOBALS['db']->exec($sql) with a "manually prepared" $sql content, but it still failed silently. The query itself is all right I was able to execute it via the db console.

  • Notepad++ setting to clear the undo buffer on save

    Hello, I've noticed that Notepad++ is clearing the undo buffer when I save a file. This just started happening when I updated the editor to version 5.6.8. (previous version was pretty old... 5.3.? perhaps...) I've seen one reference out there (look at last bullet of answer) that this might be a setting I can change. But for the life of me, I can't find it. Anyone familiar with this?

  • Implementing auto-save in WPF / MVVM / NHibernate

    My client likes programs like Microsoft OneNote where changes are saved automatically, and he can choose to discard when he explicitly wants to do so. I will have to implement some undo functionality, but I'll figure that out some other time. With NHibernate, I suppose I can call ISession.Update on every single property / binding change, but I can see real pain with this approach down the road. I am not a fan of timers, but maybe a 5 second timer that starts on property / binding change and at timer end use BackgroundWorker thread to save to db. What do you think?

In the batch file the user is asked where the path is (if it's not located the default place) Part of the batch file: @ECHO OFF IF EXIST "C:\Program Files\program\program.exe". ( set PROGRAMPATH=C:\Program Files\ ) ELSE ( echo Program folder was not found. Please enter the path for Program set /p PROGRAMPATH=Path: ) echo Copying data to "%PROGRAMPATH%"... copy /Y "*.txt" "%PROGRAMPATH%" Now for my question. If a user then enters a new path, is it possible to save that path. So when he executes the self extraction packagde again, it could remember that new path?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using HtmlUnit to click on a HtmlElement that triggers Javascript action: currentPage = ((HtmlElement) currentPage.getByXPath("//*[contains(@onclick, 'check();')]").get(0)).click(); The element is: <a href="#" onclick="check(); return false;"> The page returned is quite similar to the page, containing that element: same URL, mostly same HTML, but there are some minor differences in the HTML and HtmlUnit doesn't save the new page. I'm using HttpAnalyzer to sniff the traffic and I see that the Webclient correctly handles JS and send the right request. The response is also correct, but when I dump the contents of the currentPage to a file, I see that the actual page didn't change. How can I fix it?

    Probably I missed something, but lets say I have this: $('a.delete').click(function(){ resp=window.confirm("Are you sure you want to delete this?"); if(resp) return true; else return false; } Now, I want to save that callback function into a separate js file, because I will use it in several pages. My logic told me to do this: $('a.del').click(delete_element()); Having my js file like this: function delete_element(){ resp=window.confirm("Are you sure you want to delete this?"); if(resp) return true; else return false; } This doesn't work. Everytime my page loads, it displays the confirm window, even if I haven't clicked the link. It is clear that my logic failed this time. What am I missing?

    I am having problems finding any other information than the docs for how to save the tab order for my UITabBarController, so that the user's customization is saved for next app launch. I have searched online, but have been unable to find any blog posts or articles that goes through the proper code for doing this. I realize I have to use the delegate methods for the UITabBarController (didEndCustomizingViewControllers:) but I am not sure how I best approach persistance in terms of saving the state of the order the user wants the tabs in. Can someone post some code, point me in the right direction or perhaps you have a link for something saved? :) Thanks

    I have an HTML table that I'd like to be able to export to an Excel file. I already have an option to export the table into an IQY file, but I'd prefer something that didn't allow the user to refresh the data via Excel. I just want a feature that takes a snapshot of the table at the time the user clicks the link/button. I'd prefer it if the feature was a link/button on the HTML page that allows the user to save the query results displayed in the table. Is there a way to do this at all? Or, something I can modify with the IQY? I can try to provide more details if needed. Thanks in advance.

So I have a loadProfileDocument and a saveProfileDocument method. I was thinking of using the bean in the application scope. How do I make sure the profile document is saved? Do I have to call the saveProfileDocument from the setter? Do I call the saveProfileDocument() explisitly? Could I use a destructor (finalize)? Or what...???...

How can i make it so i return to the page the item is in? I looked into some similar questions here at stackoverflow and i believe that i need to use javascript to send a httpresponse with the location header.
