  I need to write a boolean logic parser which will translate the boolean logic language to a SQL WHERE clause. The order of the operands will always be in the correct order (with value on the right). Here is a relatively simple example. There could be nested parentheses and the use of NOT operators, etc. (CACOUNT=01 OR CACOUNT=02 OR CACOUNT=03 OR CACOUNT=05 OR CACOUNT=07 OR CACOUNT=09 OR CACOUNT=12 OR CACOUNT=13 OR CACOUNT=18) AND Q4=1 AND NAME=TIMOTHY Here is what the WHERE clause would resemble. • Box2d Documentation - Outdated, any better api refs?

  Hi guys, I am working with cocos2d + box2d and as I look through the 'Hello World' tutorial and attempt others I am finding many constructs which do not seem to be documented in the latest api ref. Would anybody be able to shed some light on what's going on? or point me in the right direction to someone who has covered the new constructs such as b2PolygonDef changing to b2PolygonShape and likewise for circle + who knows what else, seems there has not been any doc updates since August '09. • Eclipse RCP: Actions vs Commands - would like an update

  I know this question has been asked before but it was in 2009 and I haven't found anything more recent either on the web. I was wondering if the answer in that still holds or can it be updated? I am just starting work on an RCP and I haven't been able to decide between actions and commands for my menu items. I will be using a lot of the ones provided by Eclipse such as the Edit, File and some of their sub menu items as well. Since it has been nearly two years for the answer provided in the '09 question, I just wanted to make sure there is nothing else that could sway my decision in either direction or maybe if there have been some new developments that I am not aware of.

• Recommendation for serial communications in Access 2007

  I need to communicate with a bar code scanner connected over a serial port in Microsoft Access. In older versions of Access I was able to use a wrapper around MSCOMM32.ocx that no longer seems to work. I can't use wedge communication because I need to use ACK/NACK which is only supported through the RS232 interface and I need to send messages to the scanner, which is also only supported through the RS232 interface. Are there any controls in widespread use that support serial communication in Access 2007? EDIT: In case anyone comes across this, the newest version of MSCOMM32.ocx (I believe dated 3/09) still works fine as of this writing. It is older versions of MSCOMM32.ocx that do not work.

  Previously within my Fitnesse fixture I was specifying an expected WCF exception using: exception[FaultException] Since then I have converted the WCF service to return a strongly typed FaultContract. I am now getting the following failure message: exception[FaultException`1: "A file with the name DMS Documents/testFileWord.doc already exists. It was last modified by SHAREPOINT\system on 09 Mar 2010 15:36:14 -0000."] This is not unexpected but how do I check for strongly typed fault exceptions? Please note I cannot include the fault message as part of the check as it contains a date which changes (I check this separately).

  I have a database on line with Godaddy (who uses SQL Server 2005). They provide basic management tools, but tell you that for more advanced tools you can connect directly using SSMS. I followed their instructions to ensure my online database will accept remote connections, and can apparently log in using SSMS with success (after giving my hostname and access data). • Fatal Error when using ADODB in VB6 on Windows Server 2003 SP2

  We've got a legacy app (VB6) which works fine on an old Windows Server 2003 box and has been for many years. Recently we've had to move it to a different physical location and in doing this we cloned the box with virtualisation and placed it elsewhere. In theory these two environments should be identical. On the new box however the app falls over when calling the RecordCount method of an ADODB.Recordset. I should say that I can successfully read the ADODB.RecordSet.Properties.Count property with no problem on the line before. The event viewer reports the following: Event Type: Error Event Source: Application Error Event Category: (100) Event ID: 1000 Date: 28/09/2012 Time: 11:15:27 User: N/A Computer: APP01 Description: Faulting application Control.exe, version 1.0.0.6, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.4789, fault address 0x0002c6e4. I can only imagine there is something wrong with using ADODB within a virtualised environment. Any ideas?

• Can't create admin user on Heroku

  I am new to rails and I have gone through Kevin Skoglund's Ruby on Rails 3 Essential Training course on Lynda.com. Through the course you set up a simple cms, which I did. It doesn't cover Git or deployment but I've pushed my simple cms to github (https://github.com/nick5a1/Simple_CMS) and deployed to Heroku (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/). In order to deploy to Heroku I followed the Heroku setup guide (https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/rails3) and switched my database from MySQL to PostgreSQL. As instructed I changed gen'mysql2' to gen 'sqlite3' in my Gemfile and ran bundle install before pushing. I then ran heroku run rake db:migrate. I'm running into 2 problems. When I try to log in (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/access) I get an error "We're sorry, but something went wrong". I should instead be getting a flash message with invalid username/password combination. This is what I'm getting on my test environment on my local machine. Secondly, when I log into the Heroku console to create and create an admin user, when I try to save that user I get the following error: irb(main):004:0> user.save (1.2ms) BEGIN AdminUser Exists (1.9ms) SELECT 1 AS one FROM "admin_users" WHERE "admin_users"."username" = 'Nick5a1' LIMIT 1 (1.7ms) ROLLBACK => false Any advice on how to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated :).   I am trying to server a zip file through a link, but the file comes out as being empty. My app takes a number of files and zips them up, then presents the user with a link to the file so he/she can download it. On the server I can see that the zip file is being created correctly, but when I download it from the server through the normal HTML link provided no data is downloaded i.e. a zip file is created locally but it has file size 0kb. The file names are of the form XPCS.2010-03-09.15.13.42.165.zip - will the dots cause problems?

• SQL 2005 - Search stored procedures for text (Not all text is being searched)

  The following bits of code do not seem to be searching the entire routine definition. Code block 1: select top 50 * from information_schema.routines where routine_definition like '%09/01/2008%' and specific_Name like '%NET' Code Block 2: SELECT ROUTINE_NAME, ROUTINE_DEFINITION FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES WHERE ROUTINE_DEFINITION LIKE '%EffectiveDate%' AND ROUTINE_TYPE='PROCEDURE' and ROUTINE_NAME like '%NET' I know for a fact that these bits of SQL work under most circumstances. The problem is this: When I run this for "EffectiveDate" which is buried at line ~800 in a few stored procedures, these stored procedures never show up in the results. It's as if "like" only searches so deep. Any tips on fixing this? I want to search the ENTIRE stored procedure for the specified text. Thanks!

• How to output an array's content in columns in BASH.

  I wanted to display a long list of strings from an array. Right now, my script run through a for loop echoing each value to the standard output: for value in ${values[@]} do echo $value done Yeah, that's pretty ugly! And the one column listing is pretty long too... I was wondering if i can find a command or builtin helping me to display all those values in columns, like the ls command does by default when listing a directory (ls -C). [Update] Losing my brain with column not displaying properly formatted columns, here's more info: The values: $ values=( 01----7 02----7 03-----8 04----7 05-----8 06-----8 07-----8 08-----8 09---6 10----7 11----7 12----7 13----7 14-----8 15-----8 16----7 17----7 18---6 19-----8 20-----8 21-----8) (Notice the first two digits as an index and the last one indicating the string length for readability) The command: echo " ${values[@]/%/$'\n'}" | column The result: Something is going wrong...
