  • Good text editor for OS-X?

    I'm considering getting a Mac. I want to make sure I'll be able to get a good text editor for it. I'm wondering what other folks are using. Features I need - Contextual highlighting for PHP, HTML, CSS, and preferably many others FTP from a hotkey - so I can hit ctrl-s to save, then another combo to FTP it. Features I'd like - Code Completion I'm also interested in any comments in general about coding on a Mac and if it's really worth the extra $$$ to get one. Thanks

    I've got a team of web programmers that need to edit HTML and CSS that is stored on a linux server. They're all using Windows on their desktops. Rather than either teaching them to use vi/vim in a shell window or editing locally and copying using an SFTP client, I think it'd be easier to install a text editor which can transparently do the network negotiation. I'm aware of Netdrive, Webdrive and Windows' built-in WebDAV client, but these don't work as well, because they need to emulate a true filesystem. Has anyone came across this? I'm used to Coda on OS/X, so I'm hoping for something similar.

    For no apparent reason all my Swing GUI forms using components linked to org.jdesktop.beansbinding.Converter started generating errors when trying to open the Design View: Error Error in loading component property: [JPanel]-filterTextField-converter. Cannot load property type class org.jdesktop.beansbinding.Converter. The property cannot be loaded. Errors occurred in loading... I'm currently using Netbeans 6.8. I opened my project in Netbeans 6.7.1 and all was fine but after a while the same thing happened. Looking at the .form and .java files and comparing it to previous backups, everything looks fine. Even my Netbeans tutorial project no longer works. What can cause this. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.     I'm using @JsonTypeInfo to instruct Jackson to look in the @class property for concrete type information. However, sometimes I don't want to have to specify @class, particularly when the subtype can be inferred given the context. What's the best way to do that? Any ideas? One initial thought I had was to use @JsonTypeInfo on the property rather than the type. However, this cannot be leveraged to annotate the element type of a list.

  • Can't use attached property on combobox inside hierarchical datatemplate WPF

    I'm hoping to use an attached property to assign a command to the selection changed event of a combobox that is embedded inside a treeview. I'm attempting to set the attached property inside the hierchical data template for the tree but the command is not set and does not fire when the item in the combobox is changed.   • How to remove a model object from an EMF model and its GEF Editor via Adapter

    This question is principally a follow-up to my question about EMF listening mechanisms. So, I have a third-party EMF model (uneditable) which is based on a generic graph model. The structure is as follows: Project | ItemGraph | Item | Document | DocumentGraph / | \ Tokens Nodes Relations(Edges) I have a GEF editor which works on the DocumentGraph (i.e., not the root object, perhaps this is a problem?): getGraphicalViewer().setContents(documentGraph). THe editor has the following edit part structure: DocumentGraphEP / \ Primary Connection LayerEP LayerEP / \ | TokenEP NodeEP RelationEP PrimaryLayerEP and ConnectionLayerEP both have simple Strings as model, which are not represented in the EMF (domain) model. They are simply used to add a primary (i.e., node) layer, and a connection layer (with ShortestPathConnectionRouter) to the editor. Problem: I am trying to get myself into the workings of EMF adapters, and have tried to make use of the available tutorials, mainly the EMF-GEF Eclipse tutorial, vainolo's blog, and vogella's tutorial. I thought I'd start with an easy thing, so tried to remove a node from the graph and see if I get it to work. Which I didn't, and I don't see where the problem is. I can select a node, and have the generic delete Action in my toolbar, but when I click it, nothing happens. Here is the respective source code for the different responsible parts. I don't know why it's undefined in this case. SinglesResultsController has an action, quick_add, which expects email addresses of people not already registered on the site. If the email addresses aren't associated with Users, UsersController::quick_add is called, which creates an inactive user, and sends an invitation email in UsersController::send_quick_add_email() I think the problem is related to the fact that the email isn't being sent in the first controller initialized (SinglesResultsController). Any thoughts on how to make it work? The Email component is declared at the top of both Controllers.

    I have an Abstract class and a Derived class. The abstract class defines an abstract property named Message. In the derived class, the property is implemented by overriding the abstract property. The constructor of the derived class takes a string argument and assigns it to its Message property. In Resharper, this assignment leads to a warning "Virtual member call in constructor". For instance, in this question, the answer by Matt Howels contains some sample code. In this example, I understand what is meant by a virtual member being called. The member call occurs in the base class, in which only a virtual method exists. In my situation however, I don't see why assigning a value to Message would be calling a virtual member. Both the call to and the implementation of the Message property are defined in the derived class. Although I can get rid of the error by making my Derived Class sealed, I would like to understand why this situation is resulting in the warning.

    My company is stuck on .Net 3.0. The task I am trying to tackle is simple, I need to bind the IsChecked property of the CheckBoxResolvesCEDAR to the CompletesCEDARWork in my Audio class. The more I read about this it appears that I have to declare CompletesCEDARWork as dependancy propert, but I can not find a good example of how this is done. I found this example, but when I pasted into my code I get an "is not defined" error for GetValue and I have not successfully figure out what MyCode is supposed to represent.     Using a stand alone Windows Server 2012 Standard edition (no Active Directory), I Tried to establish a simple remote desktop with a custom port number, but could not modify the port number in the Firewall inbound rule, when I open the inbound property I get the next message: "This is a predefined rule and some of its properties cannot be modified" I have tried to set it up like this: New rule - predifined drop down list - Remote Desktop - check mark rules - Allow the connection. but still get "This is a predefined rule and some of its properties cannot be modified" Thank you in advance.

Maybe I'm searching for it with the wrong terminology. Maybe it has to be done as a Named Range. I know this can be done. Anyone know how?
