    Hello, I'm trying to build a facebook like search for my software. I'd like to query the table customers. I've set up a FULLTEXT Index and tried the next query SELECT * FROM Customer where CONTAINS(*,'*ann*') The query does return all the customers named Ann, but it doesn't return all the customers name Anne. Is there a way to create prefix search on SQL SERVER 2008 using FTS? Thanks.

    I'm looking for a high-quality TTS engine that I can afford (let's say less than 1000$). So far, I've tried flite and festival. However, while the results are certainly understandable, technical texts are hard to follow. Commercial TTS solutions from Loquendo and Readspeaker sound way better. However, these companies don't seem to be willing to sell their product to mere mortals - I can't find a price on either's homepage. So, what are good TTS solutions for personal use?

    Hi, I'm trying to get my Android app to play a .wav file recording of the word "Spinach Salad" whenever it sees that phrase being spoken by TTS. Here's the relevant code: spinach_salad.wav is located in /res/raw prodName = "Spinach Salad" mTts.addSpeech(prodName, "com.example.textextractor", R.raw.spinach_salad); ...and later in the code: mTts.speak("blah blah blah " + prodName, TextToSpeech.QUEUE_ADD, null); I've also tried: mTts.speak("blah blah blah Spinach Salad", TextToSpeech.QUEUE_ADD, null); and mTts.speak("blah blah blah", TextToSpeech.QUEUE_ADD, null); mTts.speak(productName_str, TextToSpeech.QUEUE_ADD, null); In both cases, I'm just hearing the TTS synthesized audio, rather than my custom .wav file. (On a related note, the last chunk of code sometimes speaks out of order, saying the second line before the first).

I've thought about the options and want to stay as SEO minded as i can but i'm struggling to think of a way i could strike a balance between having a really smart, anti-aliased looking heading at the top of their site under the logo but have it searchable/crawlable by the big G (google). Sifr? Cufon? Images? What do people recommend in terms of SEO and visual niceties?

It's similar to a list item with list position set to outside, but I don't want to use a list. What is the simplest way you can think of to achieve this effect?     Hello, I have a C# program where I am using a lot of RegEx.Replace to replace text in my text file. Here is my problem. In my text file, I have a code such as "M6T1". This code is listed in numerous places in the text file. However, I only want to delete it from the bottom (last instance) in the text file. There will always be a "M6T1" at the bottom of the text file, but it is not always the last line. It could be the 3rd line from the bottom, the 5th line from the bottom etc. I only want to get rid of the last instance of "M6T1" so RegEx.Replace won't work here. I don't want to interfer with the other "M6T1"'s in the other locations in the text file. Can someone please give me a solution to this problem? Thanks

Whats the easiest way to take a windows filename (/ \ and other chars are illegal) and scrambling them so no one knows the original filename? I would like to undo this as well.     I have an input txt file which has data in the form of records (each row is a record and represents more or less like a DB table) and I need to find for duplicate values. For example: Rec1: ACCOUNT_NBR_1*NAME_1*VALUE_1 Rec2: ACCOUNT_NBR_2*NAME_2*VALUE_2 Rec3: ACCOUNT_NBR_1*NAME_3*VALUE_3 In the above set, the Rec1 and Rec2 are considered to be duplicates as the ACCOUNT NUMBERS are same(ACCOUNT_NBR1). Note: The input file shown above is a delimiter type file (the delimiter being *) however the file type can also be a fixed length file where each column starts and ends with a specified positions. I am currently doing this with the following logic: Loop thru each ACCOUNT NUMBER Loop thru each line of the txt file and record and check if this is repeated. If repeated record the same in a hashtable. End End And I am using 'Pattern' & 'BufferedReader' java API's to perform the above task. But since it is taking a long time, I would like to know a better way of handling it. Thanks, Shibu

    Hello All, First of all I am very thankful to the owner of this website. I have learned and implement various technologies with the help of solutions provided by the readers. I know the question I asked is posted many time in this forum. And I have tired all of the solutions available, but no luck I may case I am trying to read a dat file which is basically a msg/feed file having more than 22000 Characters. Every line may or may not be of same length. My requirement is to convert the file to fixed line length character file. I have a logic that work well using vb script, however its pretty slow. I have checked with For f/ but no luck. The only delimiter I have is EOT, which i can see in Textpad but not in notepad. I have tried with \n, token=. Please help me in resolving the issue.     I was wondering how does a modern ARM chip based on ARM Cortex A8 compare, in clock-for-clock performance and capability, to a modern x86 chip such as a Core 2 Duo or Core i5? I realise due to the different instruction sets it'll depend heavily on what you're doing. To put it another way, rendering a web page in webkit on a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 based chip should be about equivalent to doing in on a Core i5 at __ MHz? Update October 2013: Since I asked this question years ago it's become a lot more common, when reading about mobile devices, to see architecture-agnostic benchmarks that you can compare across platforms - for example, in-browser benchmarks like Sunspider in Webkit will run on just about anything and you see these in reviews all the time now. And there's things like Geekbench now.

    Because we work with a number of sprites, the kind of specialised diff views provided by Beyond Compare would be ideal to see which one of 2 versions I'm after when conflicts arise. I've already configured Git to use Beyond Compare as my primary diff and merge tool as described in their integration guide — it specifically goes into how to configure TortoiseSVN to use it for images, and I've found these articles talking about .gitattributes in general and how to script interactions from a *nix shell — but it's not obvious to me how I can use the advice provided by these guides to make a simple change that would say "use the default diff & merge bindings for files determined to be images, too". For the record, I'm doing all this on Windows :P

    I have two directories - one from earlier backup and second from newest backup. How do i compare what changes were made to files in directory from newest backup on Linux? Also how do i display changes in for example text and php files - i'm thinking about something like revision history on wikipedia where you see old version on one side of the screen and newest version on other and changes are highlighted. How do i achieve something like that? edit: How do i also compare remote dir with local?
