I have tried it as FlexEvent.batchGenerated and FlashEvent.batchGenerated. The MetaData and function that dispatches the even in the component printableInvoice is all right. It I instantiate printableInvoice as an mxml component instead of via action-script it well let put a tag into the mxml line: batchGenerated="someFunction()" Thanks.

  • Java: pass an event to another component

    Sorry I don't know if this is very clear, but I'm pretty new to Java. So I have a JFrame with a BorderLayout containing a JPanel and a JButton. What I want to do is when something happens in my JPanel, I want for example change the text of the JButton, or enable/disable it. How would I do that? How can I access the JButton from the JPanel? I know some ways of doing it but I don't think they're the best way to do it. What would be the best way to do this? Thanks in advance

    C# WinApps: the main form has a key binding to CTRL-V ...so anywhere in the main app when I press CTRL-V something runs..good ... but also there are some MDI apps that are opening inside this main app ... in one of those there is a test box...ah! now CTRL-V also has a meanining for text box which is "Paste" ... so I added PreViewKeyDown to textbox and handled it, so now it is pasting BUT it is ALSO doing the main CTRL-V key binding that I had defined for the whole app ... but I do no want this to happen.... what can I do? ( I cannot change the key binding od the main app. I must keep it.)

  • click event working in Chrome but error in Firefox and IE

    I am writing a messaging system with jquery. When you click on a thread title with the class '.open_message', It opens a thread with all the messages for that thread via Ajax. My issue is that when the thread title is clicked it is not recognizing the id attribute for that specific thread title in firefox and IE. It works fine in chrome, though.   • Real server, Multiple IP Addresses, HyperV Virtual Server, How to partition IPs across real and Virtual NICs

    This is a slightly difficult problem to explain without same basic background information - I'll try and refine the question later as necessary Originally, I have a single hosted server (Win 2008R2) with the following range of 8 IP addresses. - Single NIC - IP: x.x.128.72 -> x.x.128.79 - Subnet: x.x.255.192 - GW: x.x.128.65 After installing Hyper-V and setting up a single virtual server on the same box, I then wanted to assign one of the IP addresses to the virtual server, leaving everything else running normally. -- Firstly, I tried using the "External" network, but (even after setting IPs on the "Virtual Adapter" similar to Here but struggled to get networking running at all. I needed to keep the server running (otherwise I would have spent more time pursuing this approach) Q1 ... Was this a sensible thing to do ? Should I have carried on down this route ? -- I then decided to try different approach - Set the HyperV network to "Internal" (visible to Management OS) - Physical NIC - IP: x.x.128.72 -> x.x.128.75 - Subnet: x.x.255.192 - GW: x.x.128.65 - Virtual NIC - IP: x.x.128.78 - Subnet: x.x.255.252 - GW: x.x.128.72 ... { The same as the IP of the physical NIC ) - Virtual OS-NIC - IP: x.x.128.77 - Subnet: x.x.255.252 - GW: x.x.128.78 ... { The same as the IP of the host virtual-NIC ) -- Surprisingly enough, this approach actually worked, and I was able to connect from all the following: - Internet to/from physical NIC (x.x.128.72) - physical NIC (x.x.128.72) to virtual-OS-NIC (x.x.128.77) e.g. testing via ping + FTP - Internet to/from virtual-OS-NIC (x.x.128.72) -- The problem I have is that this approach seems to only last for a short while (a few hours). After this time, it seems that I lose the ability to connect from Virtual-OS-NIC to/from the internet (but I can still connect from the host-OS to the virtual-OS and from the host-OS to the internet) I have re-tested this a couple of times with the same results ... I leave the server on for a few hours (e.g. overnight), and when I come back in the morning, the Virtual-OS loses the ability to route to the internet -- I'm not quite sure what to look at next (or whether I'm going about this completely the wrong way ) One "possible relevant item" is that the host-OS is also running RRAS (Routing and Remote Access), but this is only to run a simple VPN -- Q2 - Wheat should I be looking at next ? (Any good references / recommendations of what to try) Would appreciate any thoughts or comments (even if you tell me I'm going about this the wrong way)

The real computer runs Windows 7 and is sometimes a little bit short of memory. That's why I want to check if I can throttle the VM down to the bare minimum to keep it running in the background constantly without interfering too much.

    My goal is to instead of buying 4 separate basic PCs (plus the obvious peripherals), buy just one fast PC and the peripherals. I'm wondering if I can use a more powerful computer, say, one with core i7 and plenty of RAM, with 2 video cards (total of 4 monitor outputs) to run 4 or more virtual machines (WinXPs) so instead of having 4 individual machines, I'll be having just one. However, the catch is, is it possible to have a pair of mouse and keyboard + input/output audio for each of these virtual machines?

    I bought a Lenovo 430K with Windows 7 Home Premium and upgraded it to Windows 8 Pro. I created a DVD from which I installed the Windows 8 Pro upgrade. I'm underwhelmed with Windows 8, however. I want to install Linux as the host OS and run Windows 8 Pro as a guest OS. Will the Windows 8 Pro DVD that I created install Windows 8 Pro in a virtual machine, or would that virtual machine have to have Windows 7 installed first in order to install the upgrade?

    Is it possible to copy an XP Mode Virtual PC image from one computer to a completely different computer (not on the network, not related in any way whatsoever)?   • Is it possible to export Windows event logs from multiple servers to a non-windows host, without running event manager on each of the Windows servers?

    I want to export event logs from Windows to a non-Windows host. I was considering using Logstash, but that would seem to require that I install and run Logstash on each server. Is it possible to do this without having to run it on all of the servers? I am hoping to be able to consolidate all of the information from different servers to make searching and reporting much easier. If not, what would you recommend is the best way to export to a non-Windows host in real time? Thank you.

  • Hyper-V virtual machine can't be migrated to a specific host in the cluster

    I have a three-node Hyper-V cluster running on Windows Server 2008 R2 which is working quite flawlessly: there are no errors, live migration works, all hosts can and will happily run all virtual machines, and so on. But one specific virtual machinee is trying to make me go mad: it works on two nodes of the cluster, but not on the third one. Whenever I try to move the VM to that node, be it in a live migration or with the VM powered off, it always fails. In the event log of the host these events are logged: Source: Hyper-V-VMMS Event ID: 16300 Cannot load a virtual machine configuration: General access denied error (0x80070005) (Virtual machine ID <GUID>) Source: Hyper-V-VMMS Evend ID: 20100 The Virtual Machine Management Service failed to register the configuration for the virtual machine '<GUID>' at 'C:\ClusterStorage\<PATH>\<VM>': General access denied error (0x80070005) Source: Hyper-V-High-Availability Event ID: 21102 'Virtual Machine Configuration <VM>' failed to register the virtual machine with the virtual machine management service. All other VMs can be moved to/from the offending host, and the offending VM can be moved between the other two hosts. Also, this is not a storage problem, because there are other VMs in the same cluster volume, and the host has no troubles running them. What's going on here?

    The job of an SQL Consultant is very interesting as always. The month before, I was busy doing query optimization and performance tuning projects for our clients, and this month, I am busy delivering my performance in Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 Query Optimization and & Performance Tuning Course. I recently read white paper about Extended Event by SQL Server MVP Jonathan Kehayias. You can read the white paper here: Using SQL Server 2008 Extended Events. I also read another appealing chapter by Jonathan in the book, SQLAuthority Book Review – Professional SQL Server 2008 Internals and Troubleshooting. After reading these excellent notes by Jonathan, I decided to upgrade my course and include Extended Event as one of the modules. This week, I have delivered Extended Events session two times and attendees really liked the said course. They really think Extended Events is one of the most powerful tools available. Extended Events can do many things. I suggest that you read the white paper I mentioned to learn more about this tool. Instead of writing a long theory, I am going to write a very quick script for Extended Events. This event session captures all the longest running queries ever since the event session was started. One of the many advantages of the Extended Events is that it can be configured very easily and it is a robust method to collect necessary information in terms of troubleshooting. There are many targets where you can store the information, which include XML file target, which I really like. In the following Events, we are writing the details of the event at two locations: 1) Ringer Buffer; and 2) XML file. Iterating all components and filtering by their type is easy, but for the components which already have event handlers assigned, I need a way to store the existing event handlers, and assign a new modified event handler which first does the logging and then will invoke the original code which was already present. Is there a design pattern which can be applied, or even some example code which shows how to implement this in Delphi?

  • When designing an event, is it a good idea to prevent listeners from being added twice?

    I am creating an event-based API where a user can subscribe to an event by adding listener objects (as is common in Java or C#). When the event is raised, all subscribed listeners are invoked with the event information. I initially decided to prevent adding an event listener more than once. If a listener is added that already exists in the listener collection, it is not added again. However, after thinking about it some more, it doesn't seem that most event-based structures actually prevent this. Was my initial instinct wrong? I'm not sure which way to go here. I guess I thought that preventing addition of an existing listener would help to avoid a common programming error. Then again, it could also hide a bug that would lead to code being run multiple times when it shouldn't.

    I just setup virtual machines on one hardware with Vagrant (this is just a test environment, not production!). I want to use a Puppet to configure them and next try to setup OpenStack. I am not sure If I am understanding how this should look at the end. Can I run one Virtual Machine across many Nodes with OpenStack? Is it possible to aggregate the computation power of separate machines in one virtual distributed operating system?

  • Converted VmWare Image does not boot in Virtual Box

    I have a .vddx virtual image which boots in VmWare, but I'm having trouble getting it to work with Sun Virtual Box. In Sun Virtual Box, I created a new Virtual Machine and pointed it at the vddx file from VmWare. When I try to boot the virtual machine, Sun Virtual Box says that the volume is not bootable. VmWare is able to boot from this virtual machine. Does anyone have any suggestions about what might be causing the problem? Is there a conversion utility that I need to run? Any debugging options that I could turn on?
