• How to Minify .net AXD Resources

    - by Ilya Biryukov
Hey I am working on a big .NET project. I am currently creating an automated minifier for JS and CSS files using YUI compressor. After doing some research, I found that the heaviest files in the project are actually .NET resources (Like MS ajax file). They are very big and unminified. I am wondering, is there any way to minify them? Thanks

  • MacVim and netrw - Press ENTER

    - by Jonatan Littke
Hey guys. I've set up MacVim to work with netrw for remote editing (yaaay!), but whenever I save a file, I get the following error: :!scp -q '/var/folders/PN/PNhWJAr5GGC0WfeLdFgWV++++TU/-Tmp-/v771493/0' 'remot_host:path/remote_file.css' Press ENTER or type command to continue Hitting ENTER removes it and I can edit again. I don't know what it is and it's annoying, but perhaps not broken. Tips?

  • Javascript Certification

    - by Livingston Samuel
Is there any proper Certification for Javascript, that covers all the advanced topics of Javascript including the DOM (Document Object Model), BOM (Browser Object Model) and CSS Object Model, that can really evaluate the skills? I've no idea how to scale myself on my JS skills, so any suggestions would be beneficial.

  • Using the IE8 'Developer Tools' to debug earlier IE versions

    - by mieze
Hi guys and gals I am less than satisfied in my HTML/CSS/JS debugging of pages with IE6 and 7 specific bugs. I am aware that IE8 has a Firebug clone, called 'Developer Tools' installed. Is it possible to have IE8 installed (maybe on a VM, i don't mind), set it to compatibility mode (is there one for IE6?), then perform JS debugging and live HTML changes, using the IE8 Developer Tools, just like we can in Firebug? many many thanks mieze

  • ColumnChart google visualization column color change

    - by drozzy
Does anyone know if I can hack google's visualization ColumnChart api chart somehow, to make a single column stand out with a different color, like so: I know you can do it with ImageChart, so I don't need that (it fires no events and has no x/y labels). Can I traverse the result with javascript somehow and change the CSS style, if it is truly rendered in SVG?

  • jqmodal IE (7 or 8) flashes black before modal loaded

    - by brad
This is killing me. In both IE7 and 8, using jqModal, the screen flashes black before the modal content is loaded. I've set up a test app to show you what's happening. I've taken jqModal EXACTLY from the site, no changes whatsoever, no external css that could be affecting my app. It works perfectly in every other browser (including IE6). http://jqmtest.heroku.com/ So, first two links are ajax calls, second is straight up inline HTML. (I originally thought it was the ajax that was affecting it, but that doesn't seem to be the case, I then thought it was slow loading ajax, hence to two differen ajax links) What's crazy is that the jqmodal site itself works perfectly in IE, no flashing of black, but I can't see what I'm doing wrong. Code is straight forward html:

Here's some inline content
Close

Short loading modal

Longer loading modal

inline modal

Javascript: CSS is exactly the same as the one downloaded from jqModal's site so I'll omit it, but you can see it on my app Has anyone experienced this? I don't get how his works and mine doesn't.

  • jQuery Dialog + Chrome - opening a second modal dialog doesn't dim the page

    - by psychotik
I have a jQuery modal dialog with a button. When clicked, it closes the current dialog and open another modal dialog. This works fine in FF and IE, but in Chrome I lose the dimmed main page after the first dialog and the second one is opened. It looks like the CSS isn't applied anymore? I'm using jQuery UI 1.7.2 and jQuery 1.3.2 (can't upgrade to 1.4.1 for an unrelated reason). Any ideas/workarounds?

  • dojo/dijit ContentPane setting content

    - by Kitson
I am trying append some XML retrieved via a dojo.XHRGet to a dijit.layout.ContentPane. Everything works ok in Firefox (3.6) but in Chrome, I only get back 'undefined' in the particular ContentPane. My code looks something like this: var cp = dijit.byId("mapDetailsPane"); cp.destroyDescendants(); // there are some existing Widgets/content I want to clear // and replace with the new content var xhrData = { url : "getsomexml.php", handleAs: "xml", preventCache: true, failOk: true }; var deferred = new dojo.xhrGet(xhrData); deferred.addCallback(function(data) { console.log(data.firstChild); // get a DOM object in both Firebug // and Chrome Dev Tools cp.attr("content",data.firstChild); // get the XML appended to the doc in Firefox, // but "undefined" in Chrome }); Because in both browsers I get back a valid Document object I know XHRGet is working fine, but there seems to be some sort of difference in how the content is being set. Is there a better way to handle the return data from the request? There was a request to see my XML, so here is part of it... <defs> <marker refX="0" refY="0" orient="auto" id="A00End" style="overflow: visible;"> ...bunch more defs... </defs> <g id="endpoints"> ...bunch of SVG with a some... ...more svg... </g> I have run the output XML trough the WC3 validator for XML to verify it is valid. Like I said before, works in FireFox 3.6. I tried it on Safari and I got the same "undefined" so it seems to be related to Webkit.

  • HTML email: tables or divs?

    - by j-man86
Does the HTML/CSS for an html email newsletter need to be in table format, or can I use DIVs with equal assurance it will display well cross email-client? I've downloaded a number of templates to see how they're done, upon which to base my own, and they all seem to use tables. Any insight much appreciated, thanks!

  • Biggest GWT Pitfalls?

    - by agartzke
I'm at the beginning/middle of a project that we chose to implement using GWT. Has anyone encountered any major pitfalls in using GWT (and GWT-EXT) that were unable to be overcome? How about from a performance perspective? A couple things that we've seen/heard already include: Google not being able to index content CSS and styling in general seems to be a bit flaky Looking for any additional feedback on these items as well. Thanks!

    - by Enrique
Hi I've been testing lots of dropdown menus, but I was looking for some specific stuff: multilevel crossbrowser css based (mainly) if uses javascript, to be jQuery compatible easy to implement After discarding some menus, I arrived to Superfish http://users.tpg.com.au/j_birch/plugins/superfish/ I had to discard it too, because the z-index fix for IE didn't work for me So, does any1 know about one good multilevel dropdown crossbrowser menu? Thanks
