  • Adding a link using JQuery html() is not click-able on IE6

    - by Abs
    Hello all, I add html to a page using JQuery's html() function. This works great on most browsers except IE6. I can work round this by adding a click event etc but I want to fix the issue without extra tape! Any ideas why this doesn't work on IE6? $('#button_holder').html('<a href="#" onclick="run_activity_upload(); return false;" id="save_button">Upload</a>'); Thanks, Abs

  • Rails forms: render different actions based on validation

    - by Martin Petrov
    Is it possible to render different actions based on what fails at validation? For example - I have one field in the form - email addres. It is validated like this: validates :email, :presence => true, :uniqueness => { :case_sensitive => false } In the controller: def create @user = User.new(params[:user]) if @user.save redirect_to somewhere else # render :new if email is blank # redirect_to somwhere if email is taken end end

    - by Chris H
    I'm trying to use python to copy a tree of files/directories. is it possible to use copytree to copy everything that ends in foo? There is an ignore_patterns patterns function, can I give it a negated regular expression? Are they supported in python? eg. copytree(src, dest, False, ignore_pattern('!*.foo')) Where ! means NOT anything that ends in foo. thanks.

  • I just learned about C++ functions; can I use if statements on function return values?

    - by Sagistic
    What I am confused on is about the isNumPalindrome() function. It returns a boolean value of either true or false. How am I suppose to use that so I can display if it's a palindrome or not. For ex. if (isNumPalindrome == true) cout << "Your number is a palindrome"; else cout << "your number is not a palindrome."; #include "stdafx.h" int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { return 0; } #include <iostream> #include <cmath> using namespace std; int askNumber(); bool isNumPalindrome(); int num, pwr; int main() { askNumber(); return 0; } bool isNumPalindrome() { int pwr = 0; if (num < 10) return true; else { while (num / static_cast<int>(pow(10.0, pwr)) >=10) pwr++; while (num >=10) { int tenTopwr = static_cast<int>(pow(10.0, pwr)); if ((num / tenTopwr) != (num% 10)) return false; else { num = num % tenTopwr; num = num / 10; pwr = pwr-2; } } return true; } } int askNumber() { cout << "Enter an integer in order to determine if it is a palindrome: " ; cin >> num; cout << endl; if(isNumPalindrome(num)) { cout << "It is a palindrome." ; cout << endl; } else { cout << "It is not a palindrome." ; cout << endl; } return num; }

  • C#: check if a string start with any character in a list

    - by JoesyXHN
    Hi, I want to check whether a string starts with any character in a list. My current implementation in C# is as follows: char[] columnChars = new char[] { 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E' }; private bool startWithColumn(string toCheck) { for(int i=0; i<columnChars.Length; i++) if (toCheck.StartsWith(columnChars[i]+"")) { return true; } return false; } I would like to know if any solution is better?

  • Define and send a JSON object array

    - by Eric
    I'm looking for a way to define and send a JSON object array. I've figured out how to define a single JSON object, turn it into a string and send it, but what about an array of this type? Probably something simple I'm overlooking... var myColumnSetting = { "ColumnName": name, "ColumnIndex": index } convert it to a string var myJSONText = JSON.stringify(myColumnSetting, false);

  • How do I stop Chrome from pre-populating input boxes?

    - by thor
    Is there some way I can stop Chrome from auto populating input boxes? I have a page with a Sign Up form and a Log In form. In Chrome, if a user has already signed up and they've come to this page to log in, the password input box on the sign up form is populated with their password. I would really like to force the sign up fields to never auto complete. I've tried setting autocomplete="false" but this makes no difference.

  • Selecting count(*) while checking for a value in the results

    - by Rob
    SELECT COUNT(*) as Count, IF(sch.HomeTeamID = 34,true,false) AS Hawaii FROM schedule sch JOIN schools s ON s.ID = 83 WHERE (sch.HomeTeamID = 83 OR sch.AwayTeamID = 83) AND sch.SeasonID = 4 I'm trying to use count() to simplify my result but also include a field that represents wether any of the results' specific column contained a certain value. Is this possible? I'd basically like a row response with all the info I need.

  • Tapestry5 display grid component using a hashmap

    - by Eldred
    Hi there I am trying to attempt to display a hashmap using a grid component. If I use List list = CollectionFactory.newList(MyHashMap) it returns a list however on my template page I see Empty and false when passing my parameter t:souce="list" to my grid component, therefore my grid component only returns one row. Some code snippets would be a great help. Many thanks

  • Java: equivalent to C's strnicmp? (both startsWith and ignoreCase)

    - by Jason S
    String string1 = "abCdefGhijklMnopQrstuvwYz"; String string2 = "ABC"; I had been using string1.startsWith(string2), which would return false in the above example, but now I need to ignore case sensitivity, and there is not a String.startsWithIgnoreCase(). Besides doing string1.toLowerCase.startsWith(string2.toLowerCase()); is there an efficient way to see if string1 starts with string2 in a case-insensitive way?
