  • "Slice" out one element from a python dictionary

    I have a dictionary: D = { "foo" : "bar", "baz" : "bip" } and I want to create new dictionary that has a copy of one of it's elements k. So if k = "baz": R = { "baz" : "bip" } what I'v got now is: R = { k : D[k] } But in my case k is a complex expression and I've got a whole stack of these. Caching k in a temporary looks about as ugly as the original option. What I'm looking for is a better (cleaner) way to do this.

    If I publish my project now, with added license information, will the license still apply to the project if one goes back a few commits in the history to a state where I hadn't yet added any license information?     In IE8 (& maybe others), when I leave my page to go to another tab in IE and then come back to my page's tab, each time the cursor runs over an image it disappears until I refresh the page. I've heard of disappearing image bugs, but I couldn't find anything on this particular case, especially given this isn't a weird pre-IE8 bug. Does anybody know how can I do this in Linux? I doesnt need to be a complex thing, it can be an option in a right clic menu, or a splashcreen, or anything, just to make sure that the owner of the device may be looking for it.

I want to reduce the number of triangle without affecting shape of object. for eg, I have two triangles, (1,1.5,2) (1.5,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) (1.5,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) (2,1.5,2) In this case these two triangle is same as a single triangle - (1,1.5,2) (2,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) I dont want the manual method, But if there is any direct function or such thing which will reduce my triangle list.     hi, I'm passing data to a ListView to display some restaurant names. Now when clicking on an item I'd like to start another activity to display more restaurant data. I'm not sure about how to do it. Shall I pass all the restaurant data in a bundle through the intent object? Or shall I just pass the restaurant id and get the data in the other activity? In that case, how can I access my restaurantList from the other activity? In any case, how can I get data from the restaurant I clicked on (the view only contains the name)? Any help, pointers welcome!     I need a way to get user home directory in C++ program running on Linux. If the same code works on Unix, it would be nice. I don't want to use HOME environment value. AFAIK, root home directory is /root. Is it OK to create some files/folders in this directory, in the case my program is running by root user?
