  • Subclassing Cocoa means no subclass ivars in some cases?

    The question is generally coming from self = [super init]. In case if I'm subclassing NSSomething and in my init's method self = [super init] returns object of different class, does it mean I am not able to have my very own ivars in my subclass, just because self will be pointing to different class? Appreciate if you could bring some examples if my statement is wrong.

    Using the autocomplete field for a cck nodereference always displays the node id as a cryptic bracketed extension: Page Title [nid:23] I understand that this ensures that selections are unique in case nodes have the same title, but obviously this is a nasty thing to expose to the user. Has anyone had any success in removing these brackets, or adding a different unique identifier?

How can I work around that?     If i have a function api that expects a 14 digit input and returns a 6 digit output. I basically define the input as a const char *. would that be the correct and safe thing to do? also why would I not want to just do char * which I could but it seems more prudent to use const char * in that case especially since its an api that i am providing. so for different input values I generate 6 digit codes.

  • Gain Access to Mouse Clicks in C# Component

    I am using the ScintillaNET component and I am attempting to capture clicks in the margin, as this will determine how I respond. Unfortunately, the margins capture the mouse events (and don't provide a way, from what I can see, to get the click information - number of clicks, mouse button clicked, etc). If this is indeed the case (I am not able to get that info directly), what is another way of capturing what the mouse is doing before the MarginClick event is fired? Thanks for any help!

Since each thread has its own stack, the local variables that are created inside the thread is unique. In this case, why do we need to go for thread specific data mechanism?. I've got fuzzy square images about the same size and then inside the fuzzy square there's smaller fuzzy squares, and I want to clean up the larger squares - not the smaller ones - so that they are no longer blurred.
