• Unwanted SQLite inserted in \bin

  I am using Visual Studio 2010 and using web deployment to promote the .Net MVC site to specific environments. I installed Elmah, and it worked great on my DEV environment, but when I pushed TEST, I got exceptions because SQLite was not a good format. I am not using SQLite in Elmah or otherwise that I know of. I have removed all visible refernces to SQLite, and I have removed the .dll from all configuration bin directories. But it still gets inserted with each build. I realize the exception problem is that SQLite cannot be built for CPU Any, and my environments vary from x86 to x64. But I would prefer SQLite to not even be present. I have since uninstalled Elmah, and SQLite is still inserted into the \bin directory. I have now re-installed Elmah, and I manually delete the SQLite.dll from \bin after each build. How can I determine what is causing SQLite to be inserted into my \bin after each build?

• How can I copy an XmlNode from one XmlDocument to another?

  I'm building a tool that authors/edits XML files, and I want to be able to populate it with template fragments defined in another XML file. For example, the tool has an "Add FooBarBaz Element" button that adds a element to the new document being created, and I want to add FooBarBaz by copying it from a template. Or let's say this is my template file: <Templates> <FooBarBaz Attribute="Value"> <ChildElement/> </FooBarBaz> </Templates> I can then grab a template fragment with .GetElementsByTagName("FooBarBaz"), and I'd like to be able to inject it into the new document with something like .AppendChild(templateNode). But the problem is that an XmlNode cannot be copied from one XmlDocument to another, even if you use .Clone() or .CloneNode(), because AppendChild() throws an exception saying that the template element belongs to another context. Is there an easy way to copy a System.Xml.XmlNode between System.Xml.XmlDocuments?

• isReachable in Java doesn't appear to be working quite the way it's supposed to

  I'm using Clojure, but I can read Java, so this isn't a Clojure specific question. This doesn't even seem to be working from Java. I'm trying to implement a bit of a 'ping' function using isReachable. The code I'm using is this: (.isReachable (java.net.InetAddress/getByName "www.microsoft.com") 5000) Translated to Java by a good friend of mine: public class NetTest { public static void main (String[] args) throws Exception{ String host = "acidrayne.net"; InetAddress a = InetAddress.getByName(host); System.out.println(a.isReachable(10000)); } } Both of these return false.   Is there a cross browser solution to check if an element is visible using WebDriver? The solution for IE and firefox is to cast the object to a RenderedRemoteWebElement and then call the property Displayed. I'm using the following methods to return if a element is visible: /// <summary> /// Check if the control is visible. /// </summary> public bool IsVisible() { IWebElement control = mSelenium.FindElement(mFindBy); return ((RenderedRemoteWebElement)control).Displayed; } The problem is when I run this using Chrome, I get an exception when casting to type RenderedRemoteWebElement, this is not really the problem as I can catch this, but I need to a solution to check if an element is visible in chrome.   Hi, I'm trying to build a radio player and the client is providing a stream which is a FLV container with the audio being AAC When I read the headers it shows up as audio/aacp. I have tried all possible ways such as using the 1) Streaming through mediaplayer (Does not work) 2) Use the NPR mode of using a proxy stream (I get a broken pipe exception) 3) Play it in chunks ( Plays but I need the SDCard and the playback is not very great) 4) Use the GPL'd FAAD2 Library but I would have to pay the royalty fee Can some one help me out on figuring this issue out.   First of all I did gave a look at this one. But I didn't got the solution. The accepted anser says to use it like this: Process p = new Process(); p.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false; p.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = true; p.StartInfo.FileName = "myExec.exe"; p.Start(); But this is not working for me. THe exception's message says "The system cannot find the specified file". Am I missing something? I added the exe directly to the project itself.

• System.Linq.Dynamic and DateTime

  I am using System.Linq.Dynamic to do custom where clauses from an ajax call in .Net MVC 1.0. It works fine for strings, int etc but not for DateTime, I get the exception cannot compare String to DateTime. The very simple test code is items = items.Where(string.Format(@" {0} {1}{2}{1} ", searchField, delimiter, searchString)); Where searchField will be for example start_date and the data type is DateTime, delimiter is " (tried with nothing as well) and searchString will be 01-Jan-2009 (tried with 01/01/2009 as well) and items is an IQueryable from LinqToSql. Is there a way of specifying the data type in a dynamic where, or is there a better approach. It is currently already using some reflection to work out what type of delimiter is required.

  I have a data file with input and expected outputs. An example could be: input: output: 2 3 3 5 4 Exception 5 8 ... ... Currently I have a custom solution to read from the data file and perform a test for each {input,output} pair. I would like to convert this into a PHPUnit based solution and I would like to have one test per input using the test name forXassertY. So the first three tests would be called for2assert3(), for3assert5() and for4assertException(). I do not want to convert my existing data to tests if it's possible to create the test methods dynamically and keep the data file as the basis of these tests. I want to convert it to PHPUnit as I want to add some other tests later on and also process and view the output using Hudson. Suggestions?

  Hi Everyone, This may seem like a very broad question, but any help is appreciated. I have a client/server solution written in java which uses the Cajo project (which uses RMI). I just want to try and make my solution as secure as possible, given the sensitive data that will be transferred between server and client. So far, my ideas are to make all my classes "final" as well as throw a "non-serializable" exception for all my classes in the server (except for the object bound in the RMI registry, and any objects that actually do need to be transferred of course). Can anyone think of any other ideas? I know that someone could write a malicious client - this isn't hard to do as you can find out the remote object's API using reflection. However is there anything I can do to protect a malicious client access classes/objects within the server that they are not supposed to access? Many Thanks

• Is there a way to combine streaming data retrieval with hibernate?

  For the purposes of handling very large collections (and by very large I just mean "likely to throw OutOfMemory exception"), it seems problematic to use Hibernate because normally collection retrieval is done in a block, i.e. List values=session.createQuery("from X").list(), where you monolithically grab all N-million values and then process them. What I'd prefer to do is to retrieve the values as an iterator so that I grab 1000 or so (or whatever's a reasonable page size) at a time. Apart from writing my own iteration (which seems like it's likely to be re-inventing the wheel) is there a hibernate-native way to handle this?

  My client has multiple companies; different names/logos etc, but all the content on the sites are identical with the exception of said names/logos. In a ColdFusion environment, what would be the best way for me to serve up identical content and swap out the logos/company names on the fly so I can keep everything in one spot? Is this a jQuery solution? regex? Or will ColdFusion enable me to deploy this in an efficient manner based on the url and session variables?

• Windows service Null ReferenceException

  I built a windows service on my local machine. when I install and run it locally it works perfectly fine. When I try to move it to my production machine I get a null reference exception error. I've created an installation package that also works perfectly fine on my machine, but when i run it on the production machine the service still fails. The service references a .dll that in turn has references to 3 other dlls. when i build the project it pulls all of the dlls into the debug folder for the project... I've even installed the service from that folder and it works localy on my machine. I know this has to have something to do with the references, but this is beyond me. Any tips/hints would be appreciated.

• Mono 2.10.5 Runtime error on Ubuntu 11.10

  I've install mono-runtime via apt in order to run my Mono console application on Ubuntu via SSH. However, when I run the command mono myapp.exe, It exits, with no message, and my program does nothing. If I throw the -v switch to Mono, such as mono -v myapp.exe, I get about 10k lines of output (as expected, -v is verbose), with the first few lines being: converting method System.OutOfMemoryException:.ctor (string) Method System.OutOfMemoryException:.ctor (string) emitted at 0xb7052c28 to 0xb7052c4b (code length 35) [myapp.exe] converting method (wrapper runtime-invoke) <Module>:runtime_invoke_void__this___object (object,intptr,intptr,intptr) Method (wrapper runtime-invoke) <Module>:runtime_invoke_void__this___object (object,intptr,intptr,intptr) emitted at 0xb7052c68 to 0xb7052cf6 (code length 142) [myapp.exe] converting method System.SystemException:.ctor (string) I read this as the runtime throwing an OutOfMemory exception, but the machine is under no intense load, has plenty of available RAM, and is running nothing other that system processes. I've removed and reinstalled Mono countless times, and have even run the executable on other machines perfectly fine. Am I missing something completely obvious here?

• Subtracting two lists in Python

  In Python, How can one subtract two non-unique, unordered lists? Say we have a = [0,1,2,1,0] and b = [0, 1, 1] I'd like to do something like c = a - b and have c be [2, 0] or [0, 2] order doesn't matter to me. This should throw an exception if a does not contain all elements in b. Note this is different from sets! I'm not interested in finding the difference of the sets of elements in a and b, I'm interested in the difference between the actual collections of elements in a and b. I can probably work this out with a for loop, looking up the first element of b in a and then removing the element from b and from a, etc. But this doesn't appeal to me, I'd like to do this with list comprehension in a nice and easy way. Is this possible?
