  I'm trying to run 'dali' a highcharts exporter from nodejs on my Mac under OSX Mountain Lion I'm getting the following error: module.js:485 process.dlopen(filename, module.exports); ^ Error: dlopen(/Users/greg/node_modules/daemon/lib/daemon.v0.8.8.node, 1): no suitable image found. Did find: /Users/greg/node_modules/daemon/lib/daemon.v0.8.8.node: mach-o, but wrong architecture at Object.Module._extensions..node (module.js:485:11) at Module.load (module.js:356:32) at Function.Module._load (module.js:312:12) at Module.require (module.js:362:17) at require (module.js:378:17) at Object.<anonymous> (/Users/greg/node_modules/daemon/lib/daemon.js:12:11) at Module._compile (module.js:449:26) at Object.Module._extensions..js (module.js:467:10) at Module.load (module.js:356:32) at Function.Module._load (module.js:312:12) The key part is: "wrong architecture" If I run: lipo -info /Users/greg/node_modules/daemon/lib/daemon.v0.8.8.node It returns: Non-fat file: /Users/greg/node_modules/daemon/lib/daemon.v0.8.8.node is architecture: i386 I'm guessing a x64 version is requried. How do I get and install the 64 bit version of this lib?

• OSX/Darwin unresolved symbols when linking functions from <math.h>

  I'm in the process of porting a large'ish (~1M LOC) project from a Window/Visual Studio environment to other platforms, the first of which happens to be Mac OS X. Originally the project was configured as Visual Studio solutions and projects, but now I'm using (the excellent) Premake (http://industriousone.com/premake) to generate project files for multiple platforms (VS, XCode, GMake). I configured, ported and built the first few projects without any significant problems, but having ported the math lib, I ran into this weird linking error that I haven't been able to resolve: Any functions used from math.h will fail to link (causing unresolved symbols). For reference, I'm using Premake v4.2.1 to generate projects for XCode v3.2.1, which is building using gcc v4.2 for the x86_64 architecture. (All this on 64-bit Snow Leopard) I've tried to persuade gcc to link and build everything against a 'known' SDK by adding -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk -mmacosx-version-min=10.6 to the build command line. Now under normal circumstances, adding -lm should take care of this, however in Darwin, those math libs are included in libSystem, which, as far as I can tell, gets implicitly linked by gcc/ld. I've tried creating a dummy project from within XCode which just runs: float f = log2(2.0)+log2f(3.f)+log1p(1.1)+log1pf(1.2f)+sin(8.0); std::cout << f << std::endl; and as expected, this builds just fine. However, if I put the same thing in the code inside the Premake generated project, all those math functions end up unresolved. Now comparing the linking command from the 'native' XCode project with my generated XCode project, they seem pretty identical (except that my generated project links other libs as well).   I have a script that somebody from SO kindly provided to solve an issue I was having, However, I'm having some issues getting it to work on OSX. gawk --version GNU Awk 3.1.6 awk --version awk version 20100208 The original source is: awk -F, -vOFS=, -vc=1 ' NR == 1 { for (i=1; i<NF; i++) { if ($i != "") { g[c]=i; f[c++]=$i } } } NR>2 { for (i=1; i < c; i++) { print $1,$2, $g[i] > "output_"f[i]".csv } }' data.csv When I run the script it gives the following error: awk: syntax error at source line 12 context is print $1,$2, $g[i] > >>> "output_"f <<< [i]".csv awk: illegal statement at source line 13 From the look of it the variable of [i] isn't been amended to the output file, but I don't know why. If I change AWK to GAWK and run the original script here is the output: gawk: cmd. line:11: print $1,$2, $g[i] > "output_"f[i]".csv gawk: cmd. line:11: ^ unterminated string So I edit the relevant line to fix the unterminated string print $1,$2, $g[i] > "output_"f[i]".csv" Then it runs through fine produces no errors, but there is no output files. Any ideas? I spent the majority of last night and this morning pouring over this. • Asp.net MVC and MOSS 2010 integration

  Just a sidenote: I'm not sure whether I should post this to serverfault as well, because some MOSS admin may have some info for me as well? A bit of explanation first (without Asp.net MVC) Is it possible to integrate the two? Is it possible to write an application that would share at least credential information with MOSS? I have to write a MOSS application that has to do with these technologies: MOSS 2010 Personal client certificates authentication (most probably on USB keys) Active Directory Federation Services Separate SQL DB that would serve application specific data (separate as not being part of MOSS DB) How should it work? Users should authenticate using personal certificates into MOSS 2010 There would be a certain part of MOSS that would be related to my custom application This application should only authorize certain users via AD FS - I guess these users should have a certain security claim attached to them This application should manage users (that have access to this app) with additional (app specific) security claims related to this application (as additional application level authorization rights for individual application parts) This application should use custom SQL 2008 DB heavily with its own data This application should have the possibility to integrate with external systems as well (Exchange for instance to inject calendar entries, ERP systems etc) This application should be able to export its data (from its DB) to files. I don't know if it's possible, but it would be nice if the app could add these files to MOSS and attach authorization info to them so only users with sufficient rights would be able to view/open these files. Why Asp.net MVC then? I'm very well versed in Asp.net MVC (also with the latest version) and I haven't done anything on Sharepoint since version 2003 (which doesn't do me no good or prepare me for the latest version in any way shape or form). This project will most probably be a death march project so I would rather write my application as a UI rich Asp.net MVC application and somehow integrate it into MOSS. But not only via a link, because I would like to at least share credentials, so users wouldn't need to re-login when accessing my app. Using Asp.net MVC I would at least have the possibility to finish on time or be less death marching. Is this at all possible? Questions Is it possible to integrate Asp.net MVC into MOSS as described above? If integration is not possible, would it be possible to create a completely MOSS based application that would work as described? Which parts of MOSS 2010 should I use to accomplish what I need?

  I developed a Hello World application using Black Berry Eclipse plug-in. When I rant it on any BlackBerry simulator of which platform version is greater than or equal to 5.0 then the Hello World application is not found listed in the default application list. However, I can run the application from Options Application : Search (Thridparty) and switch application. How can I make my application come to the default application list on any BlackBerry simulator with platform version is 5.0 or greater. • iPhone: CALayer + rotate in 3D + antialias?

  Hi all, An iPhone SDK question: I'm drawing a UIImageView on the screen. I've rotated it in 3D and provided a bit of perspective, so the image looks like it's pointing into the screen at an angle. That all works fine. Now the problem is the edges of the resulting picture don't seem to be antialiased at all. Anybody know how to make it so? Essentially, I'm implementing my own version of CoverFlow (yeah yeah, design patent blah blah) using quartz 3d transformations to do everything. It works fine, except that each cover isn't antialiased, and Apples version is. I've tried messing around with the edgeAntialisingMask of the CALayer, but that didn't help - the defaults are that every edge should be antialiased... thanks!

• Visual Studio 2008 Unexpected Error on Project Checkout with VSS 2005

  I've encountered an odd misbehavior of VS 2008's integration with Visual Source Safe 2005. Situation occurs when I fire up VS2008 when a project is checked out to someone else, and later they check the project back in, while I still hold the VS2008 open. If I at that time add a new item, VS2008 tells me that my action has caused a check out of the project and a new version has been loaded from source control. Fair enough, but thereafter I get an error dialog stating "Visual Studio has encountered an unexpected error" with OK at every subsequent action, such as save file and search text, making it almost unusable. This is overcome by closing VS (which pops the error dialog once more) and restarting. Is there some kind of fix or workaround to this (besides the obvious ones: "don't try to check out the project when it's checked out to someone else", or "get latest version if you think the other person may have checked the project back in")?

  Till date I have used only VB6 Professional for developing apps. But recently I have joined a company which owns VS 6 Enterprise (or some such version) I was just exploring what is available in VS 6 Ent. and I found Visual Modeler. The tutorial provided with it is not good enough. I was wondering if there is any detailed tutorial(s) for Visual Modeler? Is Visual Modeler a cut down version of Rational Rose? I have never used such a tool for developing apps. What are the benefits of developing apps like this? The document claims that one can speed up development and modifications of VB6 & VC++ 6 applications. How true is this claim? My company also has Ration Rose 6. Which is better Rational Rose 6 or Visual Modeler that comes with VS 6 Ent.?

• Python 2 vs Python 3 and Tutorial

  Hey guys. I am 12 years old and I have had a small amount of experience with BASIC. I am thinking about learning Python, but I’m not sure if I should learn the 2.6 version or the 3.0 version. I don’t really care about the support for libraries or anything along those lines quite yet. I was wondering if it is easier to code in 3.0 than 2.6. And is it more fun and productive? I would also appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction for a simple yet complete tutorial that is easy to understand and possible teaches Object Oriented Programing. I don’t really care if it teaches OOP or not. One more thing; if I do learn python, is it possible to easily compile a python source code file into a 'stand-alone' .exe file for Windows? I really liked that functionality in BASIC. Thanks!!!!

• Android 2.2 AVD: no Quick Search Box?

  I have recently updated my Android SDK to include support for Android 2.2 (API level 8). The app that I'm building integrates with the Quick Search Box (QSB) home screen widget, which I can't seem to find in this version (using both vanilla 2.2 and the Google APIs version). I was kind of excited when they announced that they have improved its functionality, but it seems there's no way for me to observe it. Is this normal? Are others experiencing the same issue? Or is this somehow related to my setup (running Archlinux and installed the Android SDK from the repositories).

• Modify PHP Search Script to Handle Multiple Entries For a Single Input

  I need to modify a php search script so that it can handle multiple entries for a single field. The search engine is designed for a real estate website. The current search form allows users to search for houses by selecting a single neighborhood from a dropdown menu. Instead of a dropdown menu, I would like to use a list of checkboxes so that the the user can search for houses in multiple neighborhoods at one time. I have converted all of the dropdown menu items into checkboxes on the HTML side but the PHP script only searches for houses in the last checkbox selected. For example, if I selected: 'Dallas' 'Boston' 'New York' the search engine will only search for houses in New York. • Why isn't pyinstaller making me an .exe file?

  I am attempting to follow this guide to make a simple Hello World script into an .exe file. I have Windows Vista with an AMD 64-bit processor I have installed Python 2.6.5 (Windows AMD64 version) I have set the PATH (if that's the right word) so that the command line recognizes Python I have installed UPX (there only seems to be a 32-bit version for Windows) and pasted a copy of upx.exe into the Python26 folder as instructed. I have installed Pywin (Windows AMD 64 Python 2.6 version) I have run Pyinstaller's Configure.py. It gives some error messages but seems to complete.   I have autotest setup with growlnotify using growl_glue (version 1.0.7): require 'growl_glue' GrowlGlue::Autotest.initialize do |config| config.notification :use_network_notifications => true end growl version is 1.2 each time autotest runs and displays the notification growl popup I also get an OS X firewall popup asking Do you want the application "growlnotify" to accept incoming network connections? I tried answering deny and allow but it still keeps popping up. the deny/allow choice is properly reflected in System Preferences - Security - Firewall - 'application access list', but it still asks every time. update I ended up using autotest-growl gem instead of the growl_glue. it fixed the problem, it was probably related to how growl_glue was calling growlnotify.

  Hi, I want to install SQL Server 2008 express. I have already Visual Studio 2008 Team System with SP1. VS in help about shows me: MVS version: 9.0.30729.1 SP .NET Framework version: 3.5 SP1 but installator of SQL Server shows me that Visual Studio doesn't have SP1. Anyway I tricked up him by change in win registry HKLM Software Microsoft DevDiv VS Servicing 9.0 IDE 1033 value from RTM on SP1 and instalation runs. But during instalation error was occured about SP1 again. SQL Server was installed without SQL Managment. When I try install it I have allways the same error about SP1. I was install SP1 couple times with success but it does nothing. I was instal SQL Server SP1 also but it does nothing. Reinstall of VS 2008 and SP1 does nothing. What can I do? I need to. get the version off a local EXE check a web service to see that it is the most recent version download a zip if not unpack the zip overwrite the old EXE start the EXE This installer app is written in .NET WinForms now but the .NET framework is an obstacle for people to download. The recommended solution is to use a SLOOB however i am not sure how to assign full trust. If i assign full trust can I start a process. Thanks

  Hi, We have a web application running in a production enviroment and at some point the client complained about how slow the application got. When we checked what was going on with the application and the database we discover this "precious" query that was being executed by several users at the same time (thus inflicting an extremely high load on the database server): SELECT NULL AS table_cat, o.owner AS table_schem, o.object_name AS table_name, o.object_type AS table_type, NULL AS remarks FROM all_objects o WHERE o.owner LIKE :1 ESCAPE :"SYS_B_0" AND o.object_name LIKE :2 ESCAPE :"SYS_B_1" AND o.object_type IN(:"SYS_B_2", :"SYS_B_3") ORDER BY table_type, table_schem, table_name Our application does not execute this query, I believe it is an Hibernate internal query. I've found little information on why Hibernate does this extremely heavy query, so any help in how to avoid it very much appreciated! The production enviroment information: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 (Tikanga), JDK 1.5, web container OC4J (whitin Oracle Application Server), Oracle Database 10.1.0.4, JDBC Driver for JDK 1.2 and 1.3, Hibernate version 3.2.6.ga, connection pool library C3P0 version 0.9.1.   As this post points out you can install Vimballs using the normal: vim somevimball.vba :so % :q But if you want to install a from the command line how do you do it? I ran a 'man vim' and it seems like the best "from source install" option was the '-S' option so I tried to install haskellmode with it: wget 'http://projects.haskell.org/haskellmode-vim/vimfiles/haskellmode-20090430.vba' vim -S haskellmode-20090430.vba and that failed to work. It gave me the following error: Error detected while processing function vimball#Vimball: line 10: (Vimball) The current file does not appear to be a Vimball! press ENTER or type command to continue It should be noted that using the first method I was able to successfully install the vimball. I have tried the second method on a few other vimballs and it has failed every time. Is there a way to install a vimball from the command line? It seems like a useful sort of task. Oh, and I am running the following version of vim: Version: 2:7.2.330-1ubuntu3 Thanks.

  I've downloaded the new version of NAnt 0.91 Alpha 1 release and it doesn't seem to recognize the patternset as in: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <project name="Testing project" default="testMe"> <patternset id="build.files"> <include name="*.dll" /> </patternset> <target name="testMe"> <echo message="hi" /> </target> </project> The error I get when running nant /f:mytest.build is: Invalid element <patternset>. Unknown task or datatype. Am I missing something?

• Write a MAT file without using matlab headers and libraries.

  Hello all, I have some data that I would like to save to a MAT file (version 4 or 5, or any version, for that matter). The catch: I wanted to do this without using matlab libraries, since this code will not necessary run in a machine with matlab. My program uses Java and C++, so any existing library in those languages that achieves this could help me out... I did some research but did not find anything in Java/C++. However, I found that scipy on python achieves this with mio4.py or mio5.py. I thought about implementing this on java or C++, but it seems a bit out of my time schedule. So the question is: is there any libraries in Java or C/C++ that permits saving MAT files without using Matlab libraries? Thanks a lot
