• Cannot get libcurl-devl on OpenSUSE 11.3

  I have a server running OpenSUSE 11.3 that I can't really upgrade to a newer version of OpenSUSE (it's a managed appliance). I have some PHP shell scripts that need to run on the server that have a dependency on both cURL and OpenSSL. I discovered that the PHP 5.3.3 binaries on the server did not include OpenSSL but did include cURL I downloaded the latest PHP sources, extracted them, and ran ./configure --with-openssl --with-zlib --with-bcmath --with-curl --with-readline --with-libxml --enable-sockets This failed: the configure script complained that it couldn't find cURL: checking for cURL support... yes checking for cURL in default path... not found configure: error: Please reinstall the libcurl distribution - easy.h should be in /include/curl/ I tried to install libcurl by running zypper install libcurl-devl This failed too: doom:~/phpworksite/php-5.5.15 # zypper install libcurl-devl Loading repository data...   Greetings, I am running PSPad (a Windows programming editor) on Mac OS X (Snow Leopard) using Wine 1.1.35 I want to associate various file extensions (.php, .js, .html) with PSPad.exe Finder does not allow this association -- I can only associate file types with $.app items in Applications. How do I get OS X to pass a file to Wine/PSPad when I double click it in Finder?

• How to load the environment variables at boot time before X11 on Ubuntu Precise?

  Using Ubuntu Precise 64 bit, I'm facing a problem that I'm unable to solve and that I'll try to describe below: I'm using a console mode program (let's say abc) that uses Go, NodeJS, Java and Scala. In order for abc to work with these languages, I've to declare the following statements: a) within /etc/environment: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/local/go/bin" CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:/usr/share/java/scala-library.jar b) within /etc/login.defs ENV_SUPATH PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/local/go/bin ENV_PATH PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/local/go/bin c) a) within /etc/sudoers: `# env_reset Defaults secure_path="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/local/go/bin"` Then, when I start abc from a terminal, all is fine and I can use any of the 4 languages described above. However, if I put a script within /etc/init.d that starts abc during the boot process (i.e. before to start the GUI), using Java from abc still is fine, but using Go, NodeJS or Scala doesn't work anymore. Then, I guess that during the boot process, the script within /etc/init.d that starts abc is executed before that the different environment variables set within /etc/sudoers, /etc/environment and /etc/login.defs are loaded. So, my question is: how to force the environment variables to be loaded before that my script starting abc is launched? Any help and advice on this topic would be trully appreciated. TIA. Cheers. • Is there a good command-line OS from which I can launch VMs?

  Generally speaking, I'm interested in something that can load quickly and, depending on what I want to do, can choose to launch a Virtual Machine that is tailored to my desired activity. So, something that loads to (preferably) a command line, then if I want to run my Windows 7 machine that has all of my programming junk on it, I can simply enter the command to launch some VM player and close it when I'm done.

• Allow access to my server.

  I have a server, did some of the programming myself. It ison my home network, but I need to be able to access it from anywhere over the internet. I have done the port forwarding like I am supposed to, but I still cant get to it from an outside computer. It just displays Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. I don't know what else to do. I am on a Linksys WRT54G v8 router running ddWRT v24 micro firmware.
