  I have the current author id stored in $theauthorid I want to do a query based on the author id so I do this query_posts('author=$theauthorid'); However it does not work unless I write the id manually. I know the id is stored correctly as I get the correct id when I echo it.

  I have public variable 'MessagePlaceholder' on MasterPage and a Class that accesses this property like that setting it's value to string from getMessage(); ((HttpContext.Current.Handler as System.Web.UI.Page).Master as MasterPage).MessagePlaceholder = getMessage(); which gives me an error like this one Error 3 'System.Web.UI.MasterPage' does not contain a definition for 'MessagePlaceholder' and no extension method 'MessagePlaceholder' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Web.UI.MasterPage' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) What should i do ?

I may detect the language by means of "GetKeyboardLayout", but then I'll have to check if it equals to Arabic or Hebrew and so on, is there any way just to detect the direction, i.e. left to right or right to left. thanks! mike.

• asp.net c# ip address lost after postback?

  Hi all, One of my functions in a class is called GetIpAddress() which returns the following string: System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_ADDR"] This all works well in regular page loads and gets my ip address, but when i for example let a user place a comment, then the ip address is lost after postback and i get an empty string returned.   I am working on a search query in PostgreSQL, and one of the things I do is sort my query results by the number of parameters matched. I have no clue how this can be done. Does anyone have a suggestion or solution?   Is there a way to make ibuffer-visit-buffer behave like ido-switch-to-buffer (with raise-frame option)? If there is a window/frame containing the buffer I'd like emacs to take me there rather than opening the same buffer in the current window. I guess switch-to-buffer is remapped to ido-switch-to-buffer when ido-mode is turned on, so would doing something like that work in this case (remap ibuffer-visit-buffer to ido-switch-to-buffer)?   Hello, I am using the following Rewrite URL: RewriteRule /([^/?.]+) /somedir/somefile.aspx\?Name=$1 [NC,L] which works great for my use, but I need to restrict it to only act on text that does not contain a filename... for example, if I use the url www.somedomain.com/SomeName it works fine, but it also fires if I use www.somedomain.com/TestPage.aspx So I am not sure if I need an additional Rewtire rule, or if the current one can be modified to disallow any text with an extension, for example. Any help with this regular expression would be greatly appreciated.

• What's the best way to keep java app data stored redundantly in a file?

  If I have systems that are based on realtime data, how can I ensure that all the information that is current is redundantly stored in a file? So that when the program starts again, it uses this information to initialize itself back to where it was when it closed. • get rid of red X in IE for non-existing images

  I have a 3rd website (Confluence) which references images which are secured by a login. If the current user is logged in the image is shown if not the image url would redirect to a login form. Example When you enter this url in the browser a redirect to the login page is done. The problem now: IE shows a the dreaded red X icon for the image even though there should be just nothing (like in Firefox). Anyone knows how to get around this?
