  • Cancel UITouch Events When View Covered By Modal UIViewController

    Hi there, I am writing an application where the user has to move some stuff on the screen using his fingers and drop them. To do this, I am using the touchesBegan,touchesEnded... function of each view that has to be moved. The problem is that sometimes the views are covered by a view displayed using the [UIViewController presentModalViewController] function. As soon as that happens, the UIView that I was moving stops receiving the touch events, since it was covered up. But there is no event telling me that it stopped receiving the events, so I can reset the state of the moved view. The following is an example that demonstrates this. The functions are part of a UIView that is being shown in the main window. It listens to touch events and when I drag the finger for some distance, it presents a modal view that covers everything.     I am currently trying to build a ControlTemplate for an ItemsControl that uses the Grid as its ItemsPanel where each item is stacked horizontally and delimited with a GridSplitter. The basic goal is to have a dynamic bindable ItemsControl where all items stack up in a row and where each item can be resized with a splitter. There are two things I can't wrap my head around: How is the GridSplitter supposed to end up automatically between each item? How do I set Grid.Column for each item.

  • ListView item won't extend width to fill_parent

    I have a custom ViewGroup that inflates a ListView from an xml layout. The list item layout is inflated from another xml file. All of the views are set to fill_parent. The ListView fills its parent, but the ListView items don't. I've tried putting the ListView in a LinearLayout and assigning weight to it. Tried RelativeLayout as well. Also, I've built the ListView programmaticaly, without using the xml layout. Even changed the LayoutParams before adding the view to the ViewGroup. I've also taken in consideration these posts as well: Width of clickable area in ListView w/ onListItemClick, In Android, how can I set a ListView item's height and width?, Android Listview width prob. Any ideas to why the items don't extend to fill width? And how to extend them?     Hi! I have developed IIS web service to send PAP messages using Blackberry Push API over MDS. And there is an application installed on device, configured to receive push messages on appropriate port. Everything works well on MDS simulator. But it's not working well in real environment: I have installed BES Express and register several devices. I can browse MDS url with appropriate port, so url is correct.   • For a .NET winforms datagridview I would like a combobox column to have a different set of values for each row.

    Hello, I have a DataGridView that I am binding to a POCO. I have the databinding working fine. However, I have added a combobox column that I want to be different for each row. Specifically, I have a grid of purchased items, some of which have sizes (like Adult XL, Adult L) and other items are not sized (like Car Magnet.) So essentially what I want to change is the DATA SOURCE for a combobox column in the data grid. Can that be done? What event can I hook into that would allow me to change properties of certain columns FOR EACH ROW? An acceptable alternative is to change a property when the user clicks or tabs into the row. What event is that? Seth EDIT I need more help with this question. With Triduses help I am SO close but I need a bit more information. First, per the question, is the CellFormatting event really the best/only event for changing the DataSource for a combo box column. I ask because I am doing something rather resource/data intensive, not merely formatting the cell. Second, the cellformatting event is being called just by having the mouse hover over the cell. I tried to set the FormattingApplied property inside my if-block and then I check for it in the if- test but that is returning a weird error message. My ideal situation is that I would apply change the data source for the combo box once for each row and then be done with it. Finally, in order to set the data source of the combobox colunm I have to be able to cast the Cell inside my if block to a type of DataGridViewComboBoxColumn so that I can fill it with rows or set the datasource or something. Here is the code I have right now.     Hello, I would like to create an Entity Framework 4.0 context when a call is received and invoke to save changes when it finish, (something like JPA). I think it is a good idea because I can use the state for all the call, It is short and encapsulate enogh to be threadsafe and long enough for caching calls and the context itself. Any idea how is the best way for implement this?

    I'm working on a project for a Turning machine but having problems conceptualizing the steps. f(x) = x^3, where x is a single digit between 0 - 9 inclusive. Based on my understanding I am to convert the number to binary but how do I find the cube of a number in binary. Also, how do I write the cube on the tape. So far I'm thinking I should create a state diagram that accepts the binary versions of 0-9 but what next?

  • Slow performance when utilizing Interop.DSOFile to search files by Custom Document Property

    I am new to the world of VB.NET and have been tasked to put together a little program to search a directory of about 2000 Excel spreadsheets and put together a list to display based on the value of a Custom Document Property within that spreadsheet file. Given that I am far from a computer programmer by education or trade, this has been an adventure. I've gotten it to work, the results are fine. The problem is, it takes well over a minute to run. It is being run over a LAN connection. When I run it locally (using a 'test' directory of about 300 files) it executes in about 4 seconds. I'm not sure even what to expect as a reasonable execution speed, so I thought I would ask here. The code is below, if anyone thinks changes there might be of use in speeding things up. How about from a performance perspective?   • When will the ValueConverter's Convert method be called in wpf

    I have an ObservableCollection bound to a list box and a boolean property bound to a button. I then defined two converters, one that operates on the collection and the other operates on the boolean property. Whenever I modify the boolean property, the converter's Convert method is called, where as the same is not called if I modify the observable collection. What am I missing??
