• Incorporate Wordpress into Kohana 3

  I now need to make a Kohana 3 site have a Wordpress blog. I've seen Kerkness' Kohana For Wordpress, but it seems to be the opposite of what I want. Here are the options I have thought of Style a template to look exactly like the Kohana site (time consuming, non DRY and may not work) Include the blog within an iframe (ugly as all hell) cURL the Wordpress pages in. This of course means I will need to create layers between comment posting, etc, which sounds like too much work. Is there any way I can include a Wordpress blog within an existing Kohana application? Do you have any suggestions? Thanks Update Forgot to mention I have already programmed a model in Kohana to open pages based on their slug. Now I want to put blog content in there, and have the comments and other bits work. I also have installed WP e-Commerce and am wondering if there is any chance I can get that to work.

• How do I consume a COM+ local server from C#?

  I have a web application from a company that has gone out of business. We're looking to extend the web app a bit with some asp.net functionality. The web app was written as an ISAPI application in Delphi, and uses COM+ to talk to the SQL Server and handles things like session management and authentication. So, in order to get the current user and other details, I have to use the undocument COM+ components. I was able to dig out the type library and auto generated IDL, but at this point i'm lost in creating a .NET proxy class for this. Is there a way to autogenerate the .net COM+ proxy either from the .dll itself (extracting the typelib info) or from the IDL? Note: These seem to be simple COM style objects hosted in COM+ servers, no subscriptions or transaction monitoring..

Expected Result : Columns = ItemID | Name | Field1 | Field2 | Field3 Each Row= ItemId | ItemName| Value1 | Value2 | Value3 Important concerns : 1: Number of fields per item are not known 2: I need one to write ONE query. 3: Query will be running on 100K records, so performance is concern. 4: I am using MySQL 5.0, so need solution for MYSQL Should I denormalize the tables if above query is not possible at all ? • Disable the mouse click event of a button placed inside a listbox item

  I have a button placed inside a listbox item and i have style defined fro that button where i have two images and on mouse hover i change the image. Now the problem is I am handling the listbox mouse event and when click the button the listbox mouse event doesn't fires. I tried to make the property of button ishittestvisisble=false And now if i click on button the listbox mouse event fires but the problem is the two images placed inside the styling of button don't apply as they are the child of button and by default their ishittestvisible also turn out to be false. So any suggestion or idea will be helpfull ....tx in advance...

• Drupal Views Bonus Pack export issue

  Hi, In trying to solve the problem of getting data from Drupal into XML, I found the Views Bonus Pack module, which with a little figuring out works great. Except... When setting the Style property in the Basic settings of Feed view to XML file no items show up unless I am authenticated. If I log in, I see all the entries. If I log out, I see only <xml> <node/> </xml> The Access setting is set to unrestricted in both the Defaults and the Feed view. Anybody have any ideas as to how to fix this? Thanks a lot.

  So, I have a regex that searches for HTML tags and modifies them slightly. It's working great, but I need to do something special with the last closing HTML tag I find. Not sure of the best way to do this. I'm thinking some sort of reverse reg ex, but haven't found a way to do that. Here's my code so far: $html = "<div id="test"><p style="hello_world">This is a test.</p></div>"; $pattern = array('/<([A-Z][A-Z0-9]*)(\b[^>]*)>/i'); $replace = array('<tag>'); $html = preg_replace($pattern,$replace,$html); // Outputs: <tag><tag>This is a test</p></div> I'd like to replace the last occurance of "" with something special, say for example, "".   Hi I was looking for a way to call the edit method directly. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)theTableView commitEditingStyle:(UITableViewCellEditingStyle)editingStyle forRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath I have all my logic for animating manipulated cells, removing from my model array etc. in this method. It is getting called when a user swipes, adds or rearranges, but I would like to call it manually/directly as a background thread changes my model. I have constructed an NSIndexPath like so: NSIndexPath *path = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:i inSection:1]; I just can't figure out how to call something like: [self.tableview commitEditingStyle:UITableViewCellEditingStyleDelete forRowAtIndexPath:path]; Do I need to gain access to the methods of this plain style UITableView in another way? • Ordering recursive result set in SQL Server

  I am having extreme difficulty constructing a query which returns an XML style hierarchy. We have a database table which contains a hierarchy of URLs for our website. The table contains the columns: ID, URL, DisplayName, ParentID, ItemOrder The parent ID forms a recursive relationship between the current item and it's parent. The item should site below it's parent in the hierarchy and it should also be ordered using the item order against items at the same level in the hierarchy. I have managed to get a recursive query working so it drills down the hierarchy sequentially but I cannot order this by the item order as well. My current query is below: WITH Parents AS ( SELECT MenuItemId, URL, ParentItemId, ItemOrder FROM CambsMenu UNION ALL SELECT si.MenuItemId, si.URL, si.ParentItemId, si.ItemOrder FROM CambsMenu si INNER JOIN Parents p ON si.ParentItemId = p.MenuItemId ) SELECT DISTINCT * FROM Parents

• Why will show() only work for fields that are hidden using inline css?

  I am hiding an element using inline css, like so: <span class="hidden-nojs" style="display:none">Some text</span> Next I use jQuery to show the element, like so: $(".hidden-nojs").show(); This works great. As soon as I remove the inline css and put display:none on the external css stylesheet for the hidden-nojs class, it stops working. This is what I wrote in the external stylesheet: .hidden-nojs { display: none; } I'm assuming that the external stylesheet loads after the jQuery has already run? This is somewhat annoying as I would like to hide multiple elements with css and would like to avoid using inline css. Why will show() only work for fields that are hidden using inline css? How can I fix this problem?

So usage is for very specific situations. However, what I would like to know is if it will give C# all the dynamic benefits that one would get in other dynamic languages such is the IronXXX languages? In other words, will it be possible to write a entire application in C# in a dynamic language style? And if it is possible, would it be recommended or not. And why, or why not respectively? Will I get all the benefits of a dynamic language without switching to another language?

  Is it possible to define a virtual directory in IIS and somehow make the files in that directory relative to the physical directory and not to the virtual directory ? For instance on my server I have the following folders: D:\WebSite\Css\myTheme.css, D:\WebSite\Images\image1.jpg I created a virtual directory on IIS resources.mysite: Inside my website I reference the sheet like this resources.mysite/myTheme.css But inside myTheme.css I reference pictures from ../Images/images1.jpg. So the problem is that image1.jpg is not found because it is relative to the physical folder and not the virtual folder on IIS. Can I solve this problem without modifying the style sheet ?

• Test For CSS3 Radial Gradient Vendor Syntax

  I'm having an issue where I'm trying to update the background gradient of an element with JavaScript based on values I specify. I tried this route: elem.style.backgroundImage = '-webkit-gradient(radial, '+x+' '+y+', 0, '+x+' '+y+', 800, from(#ccc), to(#333)), -moz-radial-gradient('+x+'px '+y+'px, circle cover, #ccc 0, #333 100%)'; Since Webkit and Gecko have two different syntaxes for CSS3 gradients, I need to specify both. However, the above code doesn't work. It works if I only have just the Gecko syntax or just the Webkit syntax, not both. I think you can check for CSS gradient support, but my question is, is there a way to check which syntax needs to be used without browser sniffing? Keep in mind that I need to set my gradients this way since the x and y coordinates of the gradient change dynamically. Hope this makes sense, thanks.

So, if I write: in \cite{PNUD1996}. it produces: in [PNUD1996]. But the label also appear in the bibliography: [PNUD1996] PNUD. Desarrollo Humano en Chile 1996. Santiago: PNUD, 1996. Can I to remove the label from the bibliography and keeping it in the reference? I mean, to get: in [PNUD1996]. and PNUD. Desarrollo Humano en Chile 1996. Santiago: PNUD, 1996. • Visual Studio 2008's annoying auto-handling of block comments

  I read that great post on Visual Studio 2008 annoyances, but didn't see this one. It drives me crazy. Now, I realize that some people use block comments like this for function documentation and the like: /* * * * */ But you know, this is VS2008 and now we can use ///. The only time I ever feel the need to use C-style commenting is when I have some junk or test code that I temporarily want to remove. It absolutely drives me nuts when I do the first /* and then when I add a line after the test code, it automatically puts a space after the * and I end up with this: * / . So then I end up always having to backspace to complete the block comment. I looked through all of the C# editor settings in the VS2008 IDE, and didn't find anything relevant. Does this drive anyone else here crazy, or am I turning into a codemudgeon?

There is no div used, this is the css style body{ background-position:center; background-image:url(../images/images2.jpg) no-repeat; } The above CSS tiles all over and does center it, but half the image is not seen, it just kind of moves up. • Sanitize Content: removing markup from Amazon's content

  I'm using Amazon Web Service to get product descriptions of various items. The problem is that Amazon's content contains mark up that is sometimes destructive to the layout of my web page (e.g. unclosed DIVs, etc.). I want to sanitize the content I get from Amazon. My solution would be to do the following (my initial list so far): Remove unnecessary tags such as div, span, etc. while keeping tags like p, ul, ol, etc. Remove all attributes from all the tags (e.g. seems like there are style attributes in some of the tags) Remove excess white space (e.g. multiple spaces, carriage returns, new lines, tabs, etc.) Etc. Before I go off trying to build my solution, I'm wondering if anyone has a better idea (or an already existing solution). Thanks.

  What are cons if we use JavaScript to apply only CSS property/selectors to that browser who do not support that property by default? to keep my HTML semantic and keep free from Deprecated HTML.
