  • Where did my Chrome bookmarklets go?

    I'm using 8.0.552.224 Chrome. Sometime, over the holidays, my bookmarklets nearly completely disappeared. The bookmarklets are present in the default screen that shows when I open a new tab. However, when I navigate away from that tab (browse further), the bookmarklets bar (usually appearing below the address field) is gone. Can anybody tell me why the bookmarklets are no longer persisteent and how to get them back

  • YouTube music videos and playing in 480p and above

    Does anyone know how I can get YouTube to default to playing music videos in the highest possible quality setting? If for example 480p is available I’d want that automatically selected before the music starts playing. I changed the video playback option to ‘Always choose the best option for me, based on my player size.’ But the quality always defaults to 360p on page load.

  • Replace IIS 403 with 404 for Directory Listing

    Is it possible to have IIS (6 or 7.5) return a 404 Not Found (instead of 403 Forbidden) when a disallowed directory listing is requested? A security scanning service I use thinks the 403 is revealing something "potentially sensitive", when in fact it's just not a valid URL. My workaround is to drop a default.aspx into each directory that returns an empty 404 page, but there has to be a better way...

    I setup an wireless AP (linksys wifi router) to have no dhcp and point to the main router as the default gateway. I also set it up to obtain a ip from the network but when i go to my main router and look for it i don't see any ip's that it could be If i use net stumbler i can see the mac address of the wifi portion of it but Im at a loss how to get into the web console of this router any ideas on how to "find" this router?

    I come across the same problem over and over. I working on computer that is remote and it is missing graphics card drivers. Just has some default drivers that have limited resolution. I would like to install program that will read the chipset on graphics card and tell me the values so I can go on manufacturer website and download the appropriate drivers. Windows 7 or Windows XP application would do, if you know about any.

I want that all the files created under /home/ directory has group write permission by default. I don't want specific folder or specific user but for all users folder inside /home directory Is it ok to do , or there is any other solution for that

    Is it possible to change the X11 input device identifiers, as they are for example listed by xinput? Preferably without switching to a static xorg.conf configuration, I'm using xorg-server 1.12.4 (archlinux). I need to do that since, as it seems Blender identifies the Pen and Eraser of a graphics tablet using the hardcoded names "stylus" and "eraser" but by default the names of my tablet are prefixed with the type e.g. "Wacom Bamboo 16FG 4x5 Pen stylus".

    This may be hidden in the options somewhere but a glance through didn't find it: Is it at all possible to set Outlook so that a click on the "Reply" button (or, as I do, hitting Ctrl-R) will always reply-to-all, rather than reply to one? Or, I suppose, a basic switch of the reply buttons so that the default is reply-to-all, and, for example, I could hit Ctrl-Shift-R instead to reply to one? It's annoying me to constantly have to hit reply-to-all when that's all I do, and I sometimes forget to do it.

  • Can not connect to service with my public IP, only with localhost

  • Why can't I 'justify' text that I have copied from PDF into MS Word?

    I find it really annoying that when I copy text that looks good in Adobe Reader into Word, the sentences which are left-aligned by default won't change accordingly when I press 'Justify'. The only way I could get the result I need is to press back-spaces and Delete key to align the right border. Why is this? Here's an example from the Word document. The text is right- and center-aligning perfectly but Justify does not seem to work.

    Hi, for some reason since we rolled out IE7 to the estate users are unable to download from the Internet, they get an error message "the operation could not be completed due to restrictions on the computer" I have checked the GPO and it allows downloads in the Default domain policy.     I want Windows 7 to store thumbnails cache files in the same folder as the files (thumbs.db) instead of using the centralized location for all thumbnails (By default %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer). How would one achieve this effect? Alternatively, if the former is implausible, I'd settle for no thumbnail caching at all, forcing Windows to regenerate thumbnails each time a folder is accessed.

I use the spelling check quite often, but I need to swap between english and spanish all the time according to the website. I haven't been able to find an argument to supply to modprobe, or a sysctl knob to tweak, but I know there must be ways to get more slots based on some Google sleuthing. Now i realize i cannot search through the drive. after setting 'everyone' permission to read i could again. How do i set it so everyone does not have read permission except for my username (i hate clicking yes to admin prompt everytime i move a file) and allow the system to search the drive when users are allowed to access those files?
