  • how to change color of text following function in javascript

    Ok before i make spaghetti of this code i thought id ask around here. ive made a quiz for an online site. The answers are stored in an array, and ive a function that checks the answers array to what youve clicked. then it counts them and gives you your score. but i want to change the clor of the right answer wen the user clicks the score button. so the correct answers are highlighted. something like this https://www.shutterpoint.com/Home-Quiz.cfm (just hit submit at the bottom, no need to do the quiz). the little answer icon at the side looks flashy but id rather just have the text change color. heres how my questions are formatted <p>Depth of field is controlled by :?</p> <p id = "question2"><input type="radio" name="question2" id="Answer1" value = "a" onClick ="recordAnswer(2,this.value)"/> The focal length of the lens. <br/> <input type="radio" name="question2" id="Answer2" value = "b" onClick = "recordAnswer(2,this.value)"/> The size of the aperture opening. <br/> <input type="radio" name="question2" id="Answer3" value = "c" onClick = "recordAnswer(2,this.value)"/> The distance between the camera and lens. <br/> <input type="radio" name="question2" id="Answer4" value = "d" onClick = "recordAnswer(2,this.value)"/> All of these. <br/></p> and these are the two functions that are called throughout. record answer is called every time the user clicks a button function recordAnswer(question,answer) { answers[question-1] = answer; } this is the final button which calculates the score function scoreQuiz() { var totalCorrect = 0; for(var count = 0; count<correctAnswers.length;count++) { if(answers[count]== correctAnswers[count]) totalCorrect++; } <!-- alert("You scored " + totalCorrect + " out of 12 correct!"); --> } another function is best i think. ive already made attemots at it and know i have to set the color using document.getElementById('question2').style.color = '#0000ff'; question2 being the p id i think if i take in the value part of (input type....) ill be able to compare it to the answers array. but im not quite sure how to do this. any helpers? maybe something like this document.getElementById("Answer1").style.color = '#0000ff'; using the id part of the (input type line) i think i got it actually. ill post my answer in a sec

  • Responsive grid, floated elements move underneath one another when min-width is reached

    I'm in the process of creating a responsive site (currently only working on the main content.) I've created two floated divs with percentage based widths. One contains an image which resizes with the browser resizing. The image has a min-width of 100px. Can anyone tell me why when put into a mobile sized width it doesn't drop down?     I am working on a site which is full of inline css. Is there a tool to automatically refactor the pages so that inline css is moved to an external css file? Preferably doing this in a smart way where it doesn't create duplicate css declarations so if I have two inline css like style="left-padding; 12px", it creates one css class instead of two? Adobe Dreamweaver can do this manually one inline css at a time. I prefer a tool to do all the work in one shot.

    If you guys check out this webpage: http://www2.scandvision.se/oresund10/ How have they done this background fade in fade out? When i check the source this <img id="wrapper-background" src="images/body-background-0.jpg" alt="Background" /> and i think theres some kind of script maybe php or js, or both, that every 5 sec changes the background: images/body-background-1.jpg images/body-background-2.jpg images/body-background-3.jpg and so on.. So how did they do this? an example would be great, as i want to learn how to do that. If i was going to do something like this i think i would only manage to do a script in php that randomize everytime you refresh. Thank you, this will expand my knowledge

I have each group of images in a div, but the divs line up vertically down the page, I want them to line up horizontally in a row.   • Chain dynamically created dropdowns with JQuery

    I'm building some kind of indefinite filters for an app, and I'm havin this problem when I clone some selects. The things is this selects are chained between them, trough the Chained Selects jQuery plugin. The problem is that every time I clone the selects, the chaining stops working, and I've tryed everything, such as .live() to make it work, but it seems I'm out of luck :D Here you have a sample of what I'm talking about, http://jsfiddle.net/7K2Eu/63/ At first, the selects chain normally, but when I clone the form, they stop working, except for the first row of selects.     Hi, I display some data on my website and one of the data feed elements is an image. [title] => Product title [description] => some description [image] => www.some-domain.com/product-image/p12345.jpg I then display this image using <img alt="product" src="<?=$data['image']?>" /> Most of the images are 80x80, 120x100 or other less than 150 in width, which perfectly fit in the website template, but some of them are quite large such as 800x600 which distort the layout. I want a control on these types. I tried to set WIDTH="150", but as the width vary they dont look good. I was thinking If I could set a fixed width to images, say, larger than 250px then I can live with it for now. Any ideas how to achieve this? Thanks

    I have a css file like: #SomeTable.hideAll .hide { display: none; } #SomeTable.showXYZ .show { display: block } When I add the class showCol to a td, the display overrides to block in chrome, FF, and IE8. But in IE6/7, the display stays none like it is not being overridden. Is there something odd you have to do in old IE's to do a css override like this? I suspect it has something to do with it either not being possible, or I just don't understand rules for determining an override.

  • Dropdownlist width in IE

    In IE, the dropdown-list takes the same width as the dropbox (i hope i am making sense) whereas in Firefox the dropdown-list's width varies according to the content. This basically means that i have to make sure that the dropbox has to be wide enough to display the longest selection possible. this makes my page look very ugly :( Is there any workaround for this problem? How can i uses CSS to set different widths for dropbox and the dropdownlist?

  • Div at bottom of window and adaptable height div

    Is there a way to get a div to always be at the bottom of the window, and another div to change its height to fill any space that it leaves, and that div will scroll if its content is too long. (I never want the window to scroll). This is best illustrated by a picture: The green div will always put itself at the bottom of the window, and the orange div will fill the gap. When the window is smaller, like in the right hand image, the orange div will be smaller and will scroll. The green div can be toggled. Sometimes the green div will have display: none, and then the orange div will stretch to the bottom. When the green div has display: block again, it will look like the picture again. It has to work in IE6. So far I can get the green div to go to the bottom by: position: absolute; bottom: 0; But I don't know how to get the orange div to do what I want.

Wrote it myself, and copied other people's tutorials but every bit of code it's loading forever and eventually stops due to script processing times on the server. Does anyone know why?
