  • VSS causing crash in VS 2008

    We use Visual Studio 2008, with visual source safe v8. Lately, I seem to be getting a lot more crashes than usual, mainly when viewing history (comparing, etc.). I have taken a screencapture of the series of dialog boxes that will always appear, leading up to the crash: http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/1360/msvscrash.jpg Does anyone know what could be causing this?     Using the autocomplete field for a cck nodereference always displays the node id as a cryptic bracketed extension: Page Title [nid:23] I understand that this ensures that selections are unique in case nodes have the same title, but obviously this is a nasty thing to expose to the user. Has anyone had any success in removing these brackets, or adding a different unique identifier?

    I have a parent table and a child table related to the parent table by some REFERENCE. Suppose I exec a SELECT statement on the child and that it returns the at least one result. Can I arrange for my search to automatically yield all the content of all related parents with this child too? Or must I always take the reference from the child and put this in a second SELECT statement and exec this myself?

    In ASP.NET I frequently use Response.Redirect to redirect the end user to another page on my system. I always set the second parameter to true to immediately end the response. For the life of me, I can't think of a reason why anybody would ever set that parameter to true. What's the point of continuing generating a page when the end user's browser is just going to be redirected to a different page immediately?

    Is it possible to execute raw commands as javascript through the Java driver for MongoDB? I'm tired of wrapping everything in Java objects using Rhino, and would happily sacrifice performance for the convenience of passing javascript directly through to the DB. If not, I can always use sleepymongoose or something, but I don't really want to add yet another language (python) to the stack at this point. Any insights are appreciated.
