  • Error starting nginx and passenger 3 for Rails app on Suse Linux

    I have configured passenger on SuSe Linux using simple configuration procedure (calling passenger command and then installing all libraries wich are needed), but now it throws an error..   • windowsupdate troubles on windowsxp after april 2014, plus an explorer error message

    I've spent the last couple of days trying to install windows xp from a cd onto my desktop. The installtion is successful, and I can activate windows, but cannot run windows update. The error I receive from windows update is: Error number: 0x80240036 I understand that after april 2014 microsoft is no longer developing new patches, but I have presumed that customers would continue to have access to all the patches that where made up to this date. How can I install these patches? Is this possible? As mentioned, I can install windows and activate, but cannot run windowsupdate (Error number: 0x80240036). Seperately, there is an error with a windows explorer pull down menu (item) that asks: Is this copy of windows legal? How can I get rid of this message? I am not running a pirated, or illegal copy of windows and this message should not be there. I want continue running windows xp without windows update, but I need to get rid of this windows explorer error message.

  • Roundcube access from outside local network

    I have setup hmailserver on a windows xp pro computer and everything is working great when it comes to getting it to send and receive email. Now here is where my problem comes in... I have setup roundcube using uniserver and everything works great internally. Now, what I am trying to do is to be able to access roundcube from the internet outside of the local network. I have opened up ports 80, 443, and the mysql port yet I am still unable to access this from outside of the network. The error message that I am getting is as followed: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /webmail/ on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I believe something needs to be edited in the apache config file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping I dont need to run this on windows server but I'm kinda losing hope and thinking I will need to because I need IIS.

  • RAID options for a LAMP web server

    I'm due to set up a LAMP web server with four drives and a RAID controller to act as a web server. The drives are 146Gb SAS, and the machine has two quad core processors and 16Gb RAM. There will be very few write operations to the MySQL database, and I'll be using as much caching as possible to reduce disk I/O. Question is: Would I be better off splitting the drives into two RAID 1 arrays, splitting up sequential and random disk I/O, or would I get better overall performance putting them all in a single RAID 1+0 array?

    I would like to know whether there will be problem for shared hosting/vps/dedicated users if they request content via remote mysql or via http API. ? What will be issues if they make every request to production server for delivery of the website articles along with image urls etc. Will it cause disk wait on shared/vps/dedicated hosting users ?   • How do you transfer AWS RDS snap shot to a different AWS account

    Hi I have an RDS database that I need to transfer a snapshot of to another AWS account. I understand there are issues being able to do this between availability zones so I'm really unsure if this is possible. The RDS instance is mySql. If it's not possible to transfer the snapshot please could you explain how to transfer the data from one RDS instance to another without downloading any if the contents(The DB is over 200GB).     I am trying to find the bottleneck of a server running a fairly busy php/mysql site. My first culprit was io but iostat shows that on average iowait consumes only %3.60 of cpu time. here is the complete result of issuing iostat: avg-cpu: %user %nice %system %iowait %steal %idle 65.78 0.00 8.52 3.60 0.00 22.10 Device: tps Blk_read/s Blk_wrtn/s Blk_read Blk_wrtn sda 42.36 138.28 1754.70 408630278 5185216128 So I am wondering if the iowait is within acceptable range, and if not, whether switching from SATA to SSD would dramatically reduce it?

    I am using tomcat 6 with JavaBridge. I have stored my php script in the following location. C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\project\test.php In test.php I am using curl and mysql. The php.ini in JavaBridge is stored in the following location C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\cgi\php.ini and its contents are - extension_dir="C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext" include_path="C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\pear;." there is also a config file called mysql.ini whose contents are - extension = php_mysql.dll I had also installed wamp earlier so I copied all the dll's from C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.0\ext to C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext When I start tomcat and run my script I get the following error - Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysqli_connect() in C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\project\test.php on line 534 Please help.

    Ubuntu Server 9.10 So there is the time command which will show you the time it took for a specific process/command to run after the command has completed. For example: :~$ time ls real 0m0.020s user 0m0.000s sys 0m0.000s I'd like to also collect the average CPU usage, Memory, and Disk (i/o) utilization after the process has completed using time (or another command if necessary). How can I accomplish this? Mainly I am using this to benchmark MySQL import performance using different innodb_buffer_pool_size settings.

    proftpd: pam_ecryptfs: Error getting passwd info for user [USERNAME] I am getting this error in the syslog nearly every time any user connects via FTP, the user is able to connect and the session seems to continue without a hitch. ProFTPD.log shows no error, this warning only show in the syslog. My VPS is running Ubuntu 11.10 and Proftpd 1.3.4rc2 from the Ubuntu Repo, I have made only a few changes to the config (no weird auth methods). This has been going on for quite a while but I can't quite find the cause. Anyone got any ideas? EDIT: been looking around but all I can find with this error is the source code for the program itself; it appears to be and error in ecryptfs-utils that only proftpd is triggering.

    I've started getting an error on my windows machine when sending an email through Windows Mail, using Mobile Me: An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Test' Server Error: 503 Server Response: 503 5.7.0 TLS already in use. Server: 'smtp.me.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC65 Protocol: SMTP Port: 587 Secure(SSL): Yes I've checked and double-checked my credentials, and outbound mail settings, and they're correct. I've deleted and re-added the account, and I get the same issue. I'm able to receive email fine. Note - this issue only affects one PC - my laptop has no issues. Any suggestions on what Error 503 means, or how I would fix this?

    I'm using wpkg to auto install Microsoft security essentials on WinXP. At the first login after the installer finishes I get an error message as msseces.exe starts. After a reboot the message goes away. The error message indicates a random access restriction. "An error has occured in the program. Try to open it again. If this problem continues, you'll need to reinstall Microsoft Security Essentials from the Microsoft Download Center. Error code: 0x80070005" Firstly: Does anyone know why I get this error message? Second: How do I debug this kind of problems? The event log doesn't seem to contain anything useful. Is there a tool to detect and list denied system calls?
