• Decode json string returned from Flickr API using PHP, curl

  Im trying to decode a json string returned from flickr within my PHP code. Im using CURL but it keeps returning a string even when I wrap json_decode() around the json sring variable. • How can I make Outlook 2007 auto BCC messages to a specific email with specific words in subject usi

  So far I have this code from outlookcode.com which I can get to work sending all emails I send to the BCC email. I am not a developer, so I don't have a lot of context to go about editing this myself, or even approaching researching this. If anyone knows how to make this check for words in the subject, or check if the subject equals a certain string, I'd really appreciate it. • Is there a way to initialize ImageKit's IKSaveOptions to default to TIFF with LZW compression?

  I'm using Mac OS X 10.6 SDK ImageKit's IKSaveOptions to add the file format accessory to an NSSavePanel using: - (id)initWithImageProperties:(NSDictionary *)imageProperties imageUTType:(NSString *)imageUTType; and - (void)addSaveOptionsAccessoryViewToSavePanel:(NSSavePanel *)savePanel; I have tried creating an NSDictionary to specify Compression = 5, but I cannot seem to get the IKSaveOptions to show Format:TIFF, Compression:LZW when the NSSavePanel first appears. I've also tried saving the returned imageProperties dictionary and the userSelection dictionary, and then tried feeding that back in for the next time, but the NSSavePanel always defaults to Format:TIFF with Compression:None. Does anyone know how to customize the default format/compression that shows up in the accessory view? I would like to default the save options to TIFF/LZW and furthermore would like to restore the user's last file format choice for next time. I am able to control the file format using the imageUTType (e.g. kUTTypeJPEG, kUTTypePNG, kUTTypeTIFF, etc) but I am still unable to set the initial compression option for TIFF or JPEG formats. • What's the best way to paginate a dataset with Zend_Framework and Doctrine?

  Before I start to build this myself I thought I'd ask others to share their experience. What's the best / your favorite way to paginate a dataset with an application built upon Zend_Framework and Doctrine as your ORM? I'm new to Doctrine. I'm calling the model directly from a View Helper, bypassing the Controller, although I'm still interested if your solution uses controllers. I did see one article on this topic: http://ciaranmcnulty.com/blog/2009/06/Simplify-pagination-logic-using-a-custom-zend-paginator-adapter Devzone has an article using Doctrine, Zend Framework OR Pear, but none of those options mention a #ZF app that uses Doctrine.

• Application compiled by Flex Builder 3 does not trace

  I've built a simple application in Flex Builder 3 with some trace() calls. It's an "ActionScript Project", no MXML or AIR involved. I don't run the app from within Eclipse, I just open the generated html file with Firefox. I'm using the Flash Player 10 Debug version. I've correctly set mm.cnf to log trace output, following the official instructions. A flashlog.txt file is generate in the appropriate location. Despite all that, trace output is not shown in the log file. What am I doing wrong? (I suspect it's a compiler option, but I can find no such option in the project options in FlexBuilder) (If I do run the app from Eclipse, by pressing F11, I can see trace output but only inside Eclipse, not in the log file)

• How do you build a Request-Response service using Asyncore in Python?

  I have a 3rd-party protocol module (SNMP) that is built on top of asyncore. The asyncore interface is used to process response messages. What is the proper technique to design a client that generate the request-side of the protocol, while the asyncore main loop is running. I can think of two options right now: Use the loop,timeout parameters of asyncore.loop() to allow my client program time to send the appropriate request. Create a client asyncore dispatcher that will be executed in the same asyncore processing loop as the receiver. What is the best option? I'm working on the 2nd solution, cause the protocol API does not give me direct access to the asyncore parameters. Please correct me if I've misunderstood the proper technique for utilizing asyncore.

  I have some confusion related to the .NET platform build options in VS 2008 Does anyone have a clear understanding what does "Any CPU" compilation target is and what sort of files it generates? I examined the output executable of this "Any CPU" build and found that they are (who would not see that coming!) the x86 executables. So, is there any the difference between targeting executable to x86 vs "Any CPU"? Another thing that I noticed, is that managed C++ projects do not have this platform as option. I'm wondering why is that. Does that mean that my suspicion about "Any CPU" executables being plain 32-bit ones is right?

  I have a multiple language website, and I use a php get variable to set the cookie for the language setting. I have multiple subfolders (http://www.site.com/es and http://www.site.com/de) that each have a respective .htaccess file. When accessing these folders, the .htaccess file does this to "silently" redirect the user and add the appropriate php variable: ------- Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteOptions MaxRedirects=10 rewriterule ^http://www.site.com/es/$ http://www.site.com/?l=es [P,R=301] rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://www.site.com/$1?l=es [P,R=301] ------- When someone accesses the root directory: http://www.site.com, I want to add a ?l=en suffix "silently" to the url. • opengl invert framebuffer pixels

  I was wondering was the best way to invert the color pixels in the frame buffer is. I know it's possible to do with glReadPixels() and glDrawPixels() but the performance hit of those calls is pretty big. Basically, what I'm trying to do is have an inverted color cross-hair which is always visible no matter what's behind it. For instance, I'd have an arbitrary alpha mask bitmap or texture, have it render without depth test after the scene is drawn, and all the frame buffer pixels under the masked (full alpha) pixels of the texture would be inverted. I've been trying to do this with a texture, but I'm getting some strange results, also all the blending options I still find confusing.

• jQuery SlideDown Flickering in Firefox

  Hi, once more a jQuery, Firefox flickering issue. (no flickering in IE6/7/8, Safari) I uploaded an example page here: http://sithlord.bplaced.net/testing/jquery_flickering/flickering.html There are two div containers. The inner div is the one I'm hiding. The outer one is the wraping container with the style elements. I found the flicker only occur with the selectbox. Without the SelectBox there is no flickering. But thats not all: (I cant post a second hyperlink: its the same link as above; only change "flickering.html" to not_flickering.html) In this case I selected a lower "option" - as you can see, the flicker disappears in this case. The same is happending, when there are less options in total. (less then about 20) The only workaround I found is deleting the selectbox :) Any ideas, why this is happening and how to fix it? Considering the fact that a window cannot be made alpha blended over another window unless you take a snap of the background, I had to resort to OpenGL. I have few options for this: (1) To show an object on the WinCE window without showing the OpenGL ES window. Is it possible to do this ??   I need to be able to check for a pattern with | in them. For example an expression like d*|*t should return true for a string like "dtest|test".   Our current project has ran into a circular dependency issue. Our business logic assembly is using classes and static methods from our SharedLibrary assembly. The SharedLibrary contains a whole bunch of helper functions, such as a SQL Reader class, Enumerators, Global Variables, Error Handling, Logging and Validation. The SharedLibrary needs access to the Business objects, but the Business objects need access to SharedLibrary. The old developers solved this obvious code smell by replicating the functionality of the business objects in the shared library (very anti-DRY). I've spent a day now trying to read about my options to solve this but i'm hitting a dead end. I'm open to the idea of architecture redesign, but only as a last resort. So how can i have a Shared Helper Library which can access the business objects, with the business objects still accessing the Shared Helper Library?

• SOLRNET/SOLR Logging: Need to log specific information on whether a document is added or updated.

  Hi guys, I am having a big problem trying to find a logging option for our SOLR integration. Recently I have started using SOLRNET to add documents from the database in batches as previously we were just renewing the entire index every morning. So far this solution is working very well and is exactly what we wanted. However, I am in need of a solution that will log every document being added and can also differentiate between an "add" or an "update". It seems posting to solr handles it in a way where "if the document exists, overwrite it; If not then add" but in the catalina logfile this operations looks identical no matter what the scenario. My question is; Are there any logging solutions out there that can accomplish this, the current default logging options in solr that log to catalina are insufficient. Many thanks for any help.

• Grails and PermGen issue with g:link and g:render

  I've been running grails for sometime without any issues but recently after an upgrade to Grails 1.1.1, I've encountered the dreaded PermGen errors. Prior to the upgrade, no such issue. The error seems to be happening when the <g:link> and <g:render> tags are used in a GSP although I'm not sure it's indicative that this is the issue but more of the fact that it ran out of space when these tags were being rendered. Typically, everyone who encounters PermGen errors recommend increasing your java environment options -- but what maybe the source of the issue? Is it a Grails 1.1/hibernate/spring problem? • Does .NET Regex support global matching?

  I haven't been able to find anything online regarding this. There's RegexOptions, but it doesn't have Global as one of its options. The inline modifiers list also doesn't mention global matching. In a nutshell, I've got a regex to parse something like --arga= "arg1" --argb ="arg2" into separate argument name/value pairs using this regex: --(\\w+)\\s*=\\s*\"(\\w+)\"\\s* but the .NET Regex class doesn't do it globally (iteratively). So in order for me to get this to work, I'd have to do a match, then remove this from the argument string, and loop over and over again until I've exhausted all of the arguments. It would be nicer to run the regex once, and then loop over the match groups to get the name value pairs. Is this possible? What am I missing?

• Delphi 7 compile error - “Duplicate resource(s)” between .res and .dfm

Duplicate resource(s): [Error] Type 10 (RCDATA), ID TFMMAINTQUOTE: [Error] File P:\[PATH SNIPPED]\Manufacturing.RES resource kept; file FMaintQuote.DFM resource discarded. Manufacturing.res is the default resource file (application is called Manufacturing.exe), and FMainQuote is one of the forms. .dfm files are plain text files, so I'm not sure what resources is being duplicated, how to find it and fix it? If I tried to compile the project again, it works OK, but the exe's icon is different to the one I've set in Project Options using the "Load Icon" button. The icon on the app is some sort of bell image that I don't recognize.

• Android - Convert Color Resource to Color in Domain Object

  I have a domain object, where I created a method to return a text color based on the internal state of the domain object. I have defined the colors in a color.xml file as resources. The problem I have now, is that I would like to return a Color object instead of a resource ID from the domain object method. This way I can set the text color of a TextView by just calling textView.setTextColor(domainObj.getTextColor()) since it expects a Color object and not a resource ID. Currently, in an Activity, I can call getResources().getColor(domainObj.getTextColorResource()) to convert a resource ID to a color, but I would like this done in the domain object and I am not sure how I would do this when I do not have access to the getResources method. Are there any cleaner options than passing in a Resource object into the method, or domain object? Thanks

• NSDateFormatterFullStyle without year (NSDateFormatter)

  Using the user's currentLocale from the device, I want to have a date format exactly like the one generated for NSDateFormatterFullStyle minus the year: [dateFormatter setDateStyle:NSDateFormatterFullStyle]; Friday, 21 September (2012) I've noticed the iPhone app, Living Earth does this and works for all locales, so does the iPhone lock screen. A custom formatter such as, [dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"EEEE, MMMM"]; won't change with localisation. Can anyone shed some light on how to accomplish this? None of the options for date style seem to do this. Thanks
