• Using Scanner in Java how can I hasNext(aString) where the string is not regex pattern?

  Hi, I am trying to do as my question states, sooo I have the following code which would find the match. String test = scan.next(); if (test.equals("$let")) return 1; However, I would prefer to use hasNext as to not consume a token; however, when i do the following it fails. if (scan.hasNext("$let")) return 1; I realize the when giving has next a variable it expects a pattern, but I thought if i don't have any regex symbols it should work. I also thought $ was possibly some regex symbol so I tried /$ however, that did not work! Thanks for the help!

• C# WinForms: How to load an image, then wait a few seconds, then play a mp3 sound ?

  Hello everybody, (after pressing a button) i would like to show an image (using a picturebox), wait a few seconds and then play a mp3 sound, but i dont get it to work. To wait a few seconds i use "System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(5000)". The problem is, the image alway appears AFTER the wait time, but i want it to show first, then wait, then play the mp3... i tried to use "WaitOnLoad = true" but it doesnt work, shouldn't it load the image first and the continue to read the next code line ??   Hello Ive a website that create avatars for users and provide them with link for avatar to use it in their website or singuters etc , my problems is the website based on flash . the main page has 1 swf file that load other swfs used to create avatars , if someone knows the link for the these swf files he can download them which means he can have all the website lets say: www.test.com as main page which load main swf and other swfs files which located at www.test.com/resources/flash/swffiles/file1.swf anyone can grap these files and have all the website which is a big security breach ive trying so many way protect these files from not download but protecting them means the main swf cant talk to them and cant load the main page correctaly , any suggestion for these .. thanks in advance

• How do I dynamically name objects in Java?

  Let's say I needed to make a series of String[] objects. I know that if i wanted to make a string array called "test" to hold 3 Strings I could do String[] test = new String[3]; But let's say I needed to make a series of these arrays and I wanted them to be named, 1,2, 3, 4, 5... etc. For however many I needed and I didn't know how many I'd need. How do I achieve a similar effect to this: for (int k=0; k=5; k++){ String[] k = new String[3]; } Which would created 5 string arrays named 1 through 5. Basically I want to be able to create array objects with a name detemined by some other function. Why can't I seem to do this? Am I just being stupid?

• Connection to DB2 in Python

  Hi, I'm trying to create a database connection in a python script to my DB2 database. When the connection is done I've to run some different SQL statements. I googled the problem and has read the ibm_db API (http://code.google.com/p/ibm-db/wiki/APIs) but just can't seem to get it right. I really tried everything (or, not everything but pretty damn close) and I can't get it to work. I just need to make a automatic test python script that can test different queries with different indexes and so on and for that I need to create and remove indexes a long the way. • How do you handle increasingly long compile times when working with templates?

  I use Visual Studio 2012 and he have cases where we added templates parameters to a class "just" in order to introduce a "seam point" so that in unit-test we can replace those parts with mock objects. How do you usually introduce seam points in C++: using interfaces and/or mixing based on some criteria with implicit interfaces by using templates parameters also ? One reason to ask this is also because when compiling sometimes a single C++ file (that includes templates files, that could also include other templates) results in an object file being generated that takes in the order of around 5-10 seconds on a developer machine. VS compiler is also not particularly fast on compiling templates as far as I understand, and because of the templates inclusion model (you practically include the definition of the template in every file that uses it indirectly and possibly re-instantiate that template every time you modify something that has nothing to do with that template) you could have problems with compile times (when doing incremental compiling). What are your ways of handling incremental(and not only) compile time when working with templates (besides a better/faster compiler :-)).

• How to mount read-only filesystem as read-write?

  this is my problem. I have a USB drive which somehow was set as read-only. I want to set it as read write then format it. sudo chown -R eric /dev/sdb Seems to go through, but when I view the drive in Nautilius it says Error mounting: mount: block device /dev/sdb1 is write-protected, mounting read-only mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful inf.o is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so.   Hi there, I'm struggling a bit with this regular expression and wondered if anyone was about to help me please? What I need to do is isolate the 1st phrase inside a string which is NOT inside an HTML tag. So the examples I have at the moment are: This is some test text about ITS for the ITS department. Also worth mentioning ABS as well I guess.ITS, ... and ... This is some ITS test text about ITS for the ITS department. Also worth mentioning ABS as well I guess So in the first example I want it to ignore the wrapped ITS and give me the ITS at the end of the 1st sentence. In the second example I want it to return the ITS at the start of the 2nd sentence. The aim is to replace these with my own custom wrapped acronym tags in a ColdFusion application I'm writing. • PHP date function not accepting timezone change

  Hello, I've set up a quick little test to understand and debug timezones between mySQL and PHP. Here's the page: http://dev.feedingo.com/test_dates.php The dates are being created in mySQL using NOW() in a datetime field. The initial problem I was trying to figure out is what timezone mySQL is using and how to sync it up with PHP. But now there's an even weirder issue. In my test app, if you change your timezone, the first strtotime updates properly, but if you pass it into a date() function it doesn't change. This is how im setting the timezone based off the select box. $current_timezone = 'America/New_York'; if( isset( $_GET['timezone'] ) ) $current_timezone = $_GET['timezone']; date_default_timezone_set($current_timezone); Any ideas as to why the date() function isn't accepting the timezone changes? Even for bulk row delete, any other mean of row selection (shift+click and multiple ctrl+click) works like a charm and the rows are deleted. So apparently it is the use of ctrl+a that causes the problem when deleting multiple rows of an ADF Faces table.   Hi, I'm trying to read a file which has only CR as line delimiter. I'm using Mac OS X and Perl v.5.8.8. This script should run on every platform, for every kind of line delimiter (CR, LF, CRLF). • Can't reach the new zend controller/view

  Hi, I've installed Zend Studio 7.1.1 that contains 1.9 framework.   I'm trying to render the contents of a the Java/Swing Cobra HTML renderer to an offscreen BufferedImage, for use elsewhere in my app: slideViewPanel.setDocument(document, rendererContext); BufferedImage test = new BufferedImage(300,300,BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB); Graphics g = test.getGraphics(); slideViewPanel.paint(g); The resulting image in g shows a partially rendered page -- sometimes the contents of the HTMLFrame before the new document was set; sometimes a half-rendered version of the new document. I gather this is because Cobra's setDocument method just schedules the document for re-rendering, but I'm stepping through in the debugger and I don't see a second thread to do re-rendering. Anyone have any insight into what might be happening here?

  We have some tests that need to be run on multiple types of specific hardware. Its possible that these tests might pass on some pieces of hardware but fail on others, and we want to know where they work and where they fail. So, for certain tests, we would like to provide a list of hardware they need to be tested on. We'd like to put all the needed hardware in a pool that Jenkins has access to, and then have Jenkins run the right tests on the right hardware, depending on the hardware list that comes with the test. And of course we'd like to keep track of which test worked where. Is there a plugin for Jenkins to be able to handle this sort of thing? Has anyone else solved this sort of problem?

  I have an attribute lets call it SomeAttribute and a class i need to make sure the class is passed a type which has SomeAttribute. So this is how i do it now: public class Test() { public Test(SomeType obj) { if(!obj.GetType().IsDefined(typeof(SomeAttribute), false)) { throw new ArgumentException("Errormessage"); } } } But this means that i don't get any errors at compile time but somewhere at runtime, if obj does not have the attribute. Is there a way to specify in the method declaration that the parameter must have some attribute ? So i get errors i compile time when using the wrong parameters.

  Most of the time running a gtk application from the command line it starts dumping debug information to the stdio even though I put them in background. I want to note that the error, or warning, changes according to what I'm doing at the moment. The GtkSourceView-WARNING shown here is one of the cases. Anyway... Do you know if it's at all possible to avoid getting that information printed out?
