My website gives "500 Internal server error many times" I have following Web server statistics :- Web Server Statistics Successful requests: 127,310 (7,504) Average successful requests per day: 814 (1,071) Successful requests for pages: 24,949 (1,309) Average successful requests for pages per day: 159 (186) Failed requests: 3,499 (58) Redirected requests: 10,091 (114) Distinct files requested: 5,791 (556) Distinct hosts served: 5,107 (330) Data transferred: 4.28 gigabytes (190.56 megabytes) Average data transferred per day: 28.03 megabytes (27.22 megabytes) Can you tell me my server condition by seeing this or i have to give another details.     I need to allow someone access to my website via FTP, but there are a number of directories that the person must not be allowed to view or modify. For example, something like this: private_info_1 public_info_1 private_info_2 public_info_2 In this example, the FTP user would need to be allowed to do stuff in the public directories, but not the private ones. How do I go about doing this with an Apache server? I have cPanel and SSH access.

    How can I block a specific directory of a website as e.g. http://example.com/someSite unfortunately the hosts file is not an option since you can only block whole domains there and any "/" just destroys these rules. This is just for my personal protection against visiting some sites too often, while i still have to be able to get to the other sites of that domain (as e.g. example.com/someOtherSite) Would be great if someone knows a solution regarding this topic.

    So i just recently installed Ubuntu Linux 10.04 on my desktop machine alongside Windows 7, it booted just fine the first few times but after i went into my windows 7 recovery software provided by packard bell( i did this on accident BTW i exited it straight away and made no changes as far as i know) and re-booted i get this screen: error: no such partition grub rescue_ PS: i installed it on a USB stick using the ISO on the official ubuntu website.

When running 10Mbps, it takes more time to completely load the same page. The server bandwidth usage is small, with average less than 5Mbps. (I can see some website hosted at same data center loads very fast.)
