PHP SimpleXML - Remove xpath node

Hi, I'm a little confused as to how i can delete a parent node of something which i can find via an xpath search: $xml = simplexml_load_file($filename); $data = $xml->xpath('//items/info[item_id="' . $item_id . '"]'); $parent = $data[0]->xpath("parent::*"); unset($parent); So, it finds the item id, no problems there - but the unset isnt getting rid of this <items> node. All i want to do is remove the <items>...</items> for this product. Obviously, there are loads of <items> nodes in the xml file so it cant do unset($xml->data->items) as that would delete everything. Any ideas much appreciated :-)

Hi I am trying to read XPath queries from a file and run it against a xml data file. I am doing it through Saxon Xpath processor. But i keep getting this error. Code i am using is from sample code provided with the library. How do you pass .net objects values around in F#?

I am currently learning F# and functional programming in general (from a C# background) and I have a question about using .net CLR objects during my processing. Note XslCompiledTransform.Load works on an object, and returns void. Also the XslCompiledTransform.Transform requires a memorystream object and returns void. The above strategy used is to add the object at the end (the ; mem) to return a value and make functional programming work. I am trying to properly extract methods definitions that are generated by comtypes for Com Interfaces using a regex. Furthermore some of them are blank which causes even more problems for me. JiBX binding DTD schema in Eclipse

I have warnings in binding xml files: No grammar constraints (DTD or XML schema) detected for the document. I have done as is written in the answer here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/982263/jibx-how-do-i-keep-using-interfaces-in-my-code (answer which is not accepted). But now I have an error in binding xml file: Referenced file contains errors (file:/C:/Amplio/LiveCliq/Work/core/src/main/resources/config/rest/ mappings/binding.dtd). For more information, right click on the message in the Problems View and select "Show Details..." And the details are: The markup in the document preceding the root element must be well-formed. line 20 I am not familiar with DTD schemas, so I don't know what is the problem. Did anybody found the solution? And - I do not want to turn off validation in XML files, I would like to have this in binding files (mainly for code assist and validation).

Hi friends, To make the query simple first we can take example:- If we open the explorer in our Windows desktop how it shows us the tree. As we keep on clicking the tree it get expanded and shows the file in it. The same way I want to show a explorer which gets expanded as the user clicks on it(I want to get the business logic the UI is simple). The information of the explorer i.e. which folder has what files come in a XML format to me. I have 2 options of getting the XML either I can get the whole XML at one query(but I guess this might slow the application if the XML is quite big). OR I can get the XML for every list like first only the root structure then if user clicks on any folder in root I can get the list(the files or folders inside that folder) of that particular folder. Now the question is What would be the approach to implement both the method and which would be the best. Should I need to create some dictionary to maintain the link of the files like which file is inside what. I am not able to get as how I would be able to link all the files. Any hint or direction would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Java & Maven generating -and using- my own archetype

Hello again! I have been busy in my project creating a webapp (in struts) that manages maven, using maven-2.2.1-uber.jar link text. The problem comes when the boss says it has to use some archetypes the company has created (so no predefined archetypes for you naughty boy!). So ok, I use the -DarchetypeRepository option (with ServletWrapper I get my complete web direction, becouse the repository will be inside the app), and the log seems to find it, but then the build fails -miserably- with this little text 'Build Failure - The defined artifact is not an archetype' as simple as that. Of course I have a lot of INFO lines that say abslutily nothig related. I have read the maven definitive guide searching for some kind of help, but it has been disapointing at best. My thoughts are thatmaybe I am missing in somewhere of all the folders tree some xml that actually sais maven that my pom.xml is an archetype not a project. But I really, really, can't find anything on the net or in the manuals that explains easy-handed how the archetype:generate (with special parameters) works and where I have to put every folder and/or file. So just to say my thoughts aloud (and hopefully you understand what I am trying to ask): I have a template where I do some xml changes (variables, etc...), then I have to call maen and do an archetype:generate with a variable project. The problem seems to be that my actual confuguration doesn't like what I am doing. After the generation of the archetype, witch luckly will create some directory trees and leave me a POM.xml somewhere I still have to do some variable changes and more xml manage stuff, so it whould be very kind from maven to don't destroy anything in this process. Any ideas why this maven-thing is not happly-ever-after asuming that my archetype is defintly an archetype? Allthought I think the code is ok, it could be wrong, as I am using maven-ubber and I call the actual CSMavenCli.main(String[, ClassWorld), I don't think it is the case this time. Difference in performance between Stax and DOM parsing

I have been using DOM for a long time and as such DOM parsing performance wise has been pretty good. Even when dealing with XML of about 4-7 MB the parsing has been fast. The issue we face with DOM is the memory footprint which become huge as soon as we start dealing with large XMLs. Lately I tried moving to Stax (Streaming parsers for XML) which are supposed top be second generation parsers (reading about Stax it said its the fastest parser now). When I tried stax parser for large XML for about 4MB memory footprint definitely reduced drastically but time take to parse entire XML and create java object out of it increased almost by 5 times over DOM. I used sjsxp.jar implementation of Stax. I can deuce to some extent logically that performance may not be extremely good due to streaming nature of the parser but a reduction of 5 time (e.g. DOM takes about 8 seconds to build object for this XML, whereas Stax parsing took about 40 seconds on average) is definitely not going to be acceptable. Am I missing some point here completely as I am not able to come to terms with these performance numbers

Rails choking on the content of this request because of protect_from_forgery

I'm trying to simply test my RESTful API with cURL. Using the following invocation: curl -d "name=jimmy" -H "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded" http://127.0.0.1:3000/people.xml -i Rails is dying though: ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken (ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken): :8:in `synchronize' Looks like it's running this through a protect_from_forgery filter. I thought protect_from_forgery is excluded for non-HTML HTTP POST/PUT/DELETE type requests? This is clearly targeting the XML format. If I pass actual XML content, it works. But my users will be submitting POST data as URL encoded parameters. I know all the various ways I can disable protect_from_forgery but what's the proper way of handling this? I want to leave it on so that when I do have HTML based forms and handle format.html, I don't forget to re-enable it for then. I want users to be able to make HTTP POST requests to my XML-based API though and not get bombarded with this.

Now, the script works fine and the output is generated correctly. The only problem I counter is with two WebApp projects in the solution that use the AJAX Control Toolkit. The toolkit has a set of folders (e.g. ar, it, es, fr) that contain localized resources. These folders are not copied in the bin directory of the WebApps when the solution is built in MSBuild, but they are copied when it is built in Visual Studio. How can I solve this in a clean manner? I know I could write a (quite convoluted) task that copies the directories after the compile, but it does not seem the right solution to me. Also, neither Google, SO and MSDN could provide more details on this kind of issue.

getting Error while set up the connection pool in jboss

Hi as per following Connection pool configuration facing some issue. Place a copy of mysql-connector-java-[version]-bin.jar in $JBOSS_HOME/server/all/lib. Then, follow the example configuration file named mysql-ds.xml in the $JBOSS_HOME/docs/examples/jca directory that comes with a JBoss binary installation. To activate your DataSource, place an xml file that follows the format of mysql-ds.xml in the deploy subdirectory in either $JBOSS_HOME/server/all, $JBOSS_HOME/server/default, or $JBOSS_HOME/server/[yourconfig] as appropriate. I am getting following error resource-ref: jdbc/buinessCaliberDb has no valid JNDI binding. Check the jboss-web/resource-ref. JSON Post To Rails From Android

I'm currently working on an android app that interfaces with a Ruby on Rails app through XML and JSON. I can currently pull all my posts from my website through XML but I can't seem to post via JSON. My app currently builds a JSON object from a form that looks a little something like this: { "post": { "other_param": "1", "post_content": "Blah blah blah" } } On my server I believe the Create method in my Posts Controller is set up correctly: def create @post = current_user.posts.build(params[:post]) respond_to do |format| if @post.save format.html { redirect_to @post, notice: 'Post was successfully created.' } format.json { render json: @post, status: :created, location: @post } format.xml { render xml: @post, status: :created, location: @post } else format.html { render action: "new" } format.json { render json: @post.errors, status: :unprocessable_entity } format.xml { render xml: @post.errors, status: :unprocessable_entity } end end end And in my android app I have a method that takes that JSON Object I posted earlier as a parameter along with the username and password for being authenticated (Authentication is working I've tested it, and yes Simple HTTP authentication is probably not the best choice but its a quick and dirty fix) and it then sends the JSON Object through HTTP POST to the rails server. Is my JSON still formatted wrong, does there really need to be that holder around the other data? Or do I need to use something other than HTTP POST? Or is this just something on the Rails end? A route or controller that isn't right? I'd be really grateful if someone could point me in the right direction, because I don't know where to go from here.

Error inflating class android.widget.CompoundButton

[Disclaimer: This has been cross posted on the Android Developers Google Group I am trying to use a CompoundButton in a project I am working on. Every time I try and use it by declaring it in my layout xml file I receive the error "01-04 12:27:46.471: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1771): Caused by: android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #605: Error inflating class android.widget.CompoundButton" After fighting the error for a half an hour I decided to try a minimalistic example. I am using the latest eclipse developer tools, and targeting android 2.2 makign the minimum sdk required 2.2 (8). Specify IP address of WCF endpoint at runtime

I have a bunch of remote machines all running the same WCF service over HTTP. I have a central configuration utility that needs to decide at runtime which of these to connect to. I do not want to define all the endpoints in the configuration file because this is all database driven. I naively tried this: CustomerServiceClient GetClientForIPAddress(string ipAddress) { string address = String.Format("http://{0}/customerservice.svc", ipAddress); var client = new CustomerServiceClient("?", address); return client; } where CustomerServiceClient is my service reference proxy class, but (unsurprisingly) it gave me the following error: Could not find endpoint element with name '?' and contract 'SkyWalkerCustomerService.ICustomerService' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this name could be found in the client element. So how do I declare an endpoint at runtime and point my service reference to it? .NET 3.5

What's the use of Ant's extension-point if/unless attributes?

When you define an extension-point in an Ant build file you can have it conditional by using the if or unless attribute. On a target the if/unless prevent it's tasks from being run. But an extension-point doesn't have any tasks to conditionally run, so what does the condition do? My thought (which proved to be incorrect in Ant 1.8.0) is it would prevent any tasks that extend the extension-point from being run.
