• JList not showing items or showing selectively.

  I have a Java Swing application using a JList to show some data from a DB. I am using DefaulListModel as the data model for the list in this way: void PopulateSoldiersList() { try { soldiersListModel = new DefaultListModel(); for (Soldier i : myBackEnd.GetAllSoldiers()) { soldiersListModel.addElement(i); } this.listSoldiers.setModel(soldiersListModel); } catch (Exception ex) {// Error Message} } And for some reason, the list just stays empty... I even did make sure at runtime that all the data is set up properly in the data model and even in the "dataModel" property of the JList! In other place at the app i have a similar problem, but there, sometimes the list show few items from the model (but not all of them) I have no idea where to go from here... please help. Thanks!

  Hi, I need to display some text in cocos2d layer. I added UITextView to it. I added the text in the text View. But, for setting the font by ( UIFont class), I could not do it. I saw the list of supported fonts for iPhone, In that list Copperplate Gothic Bold is not there. I downloaded it from net. It is working good for CCLabel and CCFontMenuItem. • How to set default values to the properties of dynamically loaded types at runtime for XML serializa

  I need to serialize dynamically loaded types' classes using XMLSerializer. When using XML serializer non initialized values are not being serialized. I dont have control over the assemblies I am working with so can not use XML attributes for specifying default values on properties. So I think I need to set all properties and sub properties to their default values recursively and then serialize. ( Please let me know if there is any better way ) Followed this : Activator.CreateInstance(propType); but above line complains about not having a parameterless constructor for some types. Tried this : subObject = FormatterServices.GetUninitializedObject(propType); but this one gives an error "value was invalid" with no inner exception. Please let me know if you need any further information.

  Hello I'm trying to run JUnit4 test cases on Eclipse 3.4.2 but it's not even starting for me. I am sure that I properly have junit-4.7.jar in my build path and the test application. Here is a simple example that illustrates my problem package test; import org.junit.Before; import org.junit.Test; public class UTest { @Test public void test() { } @Before public void setUp() throws Exception { } } This compiles fine Then I do "Run JUnit Test case" from Eclipse and I get an error dialog with this message "Launching UTest' has encountered a problem An internal error occurred during: "Launching UTest". java.lang.NullPointerException I'm not sure how to figure out what exactly generating this NullPointerException. • Does Java Mac OSX native look and feel respect UIManager font changes?

  I have a java applet and the only look and feel that works properly is the native mac one. I wanted to make the fonts a bit larger and tried using the standard UIManager methods UIManager.put("Label.font", new Font("Georgia", Font.PLAIN, 18)); This produces no change. It does not throw an exception, of course. Does anyone know if the native mac look and feel ignores these? I know there are specific ways to make controls different sizes on mac but these only seem to make them smaller. You cannot make the controls larger than regular.

  I have a Linq collection of Things, where Thing has an Amount (decimal) property. I'm trying to do an aggregate on this for a certain subset of Things: var total = myThings.Sum(t => t.Amount); and that works nicely. But then I added a condition that left me with no Things in the result: var total = myThings.Where(t => t.OtherProperty == 123).Sum(t => t.Amount); And instead of getting total = 0 or null, I get an error: System.InvalidOperationException: The null value cannot be assigned to a member with type System.Decimal which is a non-nullable value type. That is really nasty, because I didn't expect that behavior. I would have expected total to be zero, maybe null - but certainly not to throw an exception! What am I doing wrong? What's the workaround/fix?

So securityGroups is in many-to-many relationship with User table and one-to-many with LookupApplciation (FK) Now I want to select all application linked to a specific user. I have follow criteria: public IList<LookupApplication> GetApplicationByUser(User user) { return this.Session.CreateCriteria(typeof(SecurityGroup), "sg") .CreateAlias("Members", "u") .CreateAlias("Application", "al") .Add(Restrictions.Eq("u.Id", user.Id)) .List<LookupApplication>(); } It trows an exception The value "Edi.Advance.Core.Model.Security.SecurityGroup" is not of type "Edi.Advance.Core.Model.Lookups.LookupApplication" and cannot be used in this generic collection. Parameter name: value and it is right. How can I transform the result to IList<LookupApplication>? Thanks

• Updating only .dll of a reference in my ASP.NET Application

  Hello, I have a deployed web application project that references my Utility.dll class library. I want to make a change to the Utlity.dll and roll only that .dll out. The problem is that when I do that, I get the following error when I try to launch my site: Could not load file or assembly 'Utility, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3766481cef20a9d1' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) Is there a setting I can change so I don't have to roll out the entire web application project - only the Utlity.dll? Thanks!

• C# property in a form class only accessable after formload event

  using vs2008, c# Howdy, Im instantiating and calling Form B from Form A. FormB has some custom properties, to allow me to pass it things like sqlAdaptors and dataset instances. When i instantiate and show Form B from Form A as a dialog form with a Using statement, it all works fine, but i find the properties i pass are not available in Form B until after the form_load event has fired. I was under the impression the properties when passed to a instantiated class should be available from a constructor, but this is not the case. If it try to access the properties before the form load event i get a null reference exception. Is this correct behavior ? It is very annoying. thanks for any help

  Howdy all, I'm running into a problem with some InfoPath C# code while trying to remove an attachment from a form. Basically the process is: User opens form User clicks button File attachment is cleared I've tried adding a blank attachment to my schema that never becomes populated, then setting the original field's value equal to that value by the method below. When debugging the form I catch an error: Schema validation found non-data type errors.   I have a class generated from a WSDL that has a bunch of public properties and a public event. I'm extending this class with my own and adding some properties to it. All of my own properties are declared virtual, but the base class properties are not virtual. I'm using Fluent NHibernate's ClassMap to map only the properties from my extended class. How do I prevent (Fluent)NHibernate from trying to persist all the base class's public members?   So I have a piece of code which parses and validates user input: DateTime myDateTime = DateTime.Parse(userInput,currentCulture); Current culture is being set (to en-ca or en-fr) and the user Input is always in ISO 8601 format "yyyy-MM-dd". If the user enters 1900-01-01 the date is created as expected. If the input is "1900-01+01" the date time created is 1899-12-31 6:00:00 PM No exception is thrown, the DateTime.Parse happily converts this to the wrong date. To make this work I am using DateTime.ParseExact(userInput,"yyyy-MM-dd",currentCulture). So my question is: whats up with the +01 or any + value? Am I missing something in ISO standard?

• Simple "Hello World!" console application crashes when run by windows TaskScheduler (1.0)

  I have a batch file which starts multiple instances of simple console application (Hello World!). I work on Windows server 2008 64-bit. I configure it to run in TaskScheduler, at startup, and whether user is logged-in or not. The later configuration means that the instances will run without GUI (i.e. - no window). When I run this task, some of the instances just fail, after consuming 100& CPU. Application event-log shows the following error: "Faulting module KERNEL32.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e0421d, exception code 0xc0000142, fault offset 0x00000000000b8fb8, process id 0x29bc, application start time 0x01cae17d94a61895." Running the batch file directly works just fine. It seems to me that the OS has a problem loading too many instances of the application when no window is displayed. However - I can’t figure out why... Any idea??

  I am running an application on Weblogic 9.2 MP3, currently having problem with connection pool. ERROR - UserBean retrieving user record. weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolLimitSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: No resources currently available in pool MyApp Data Source to allocate to applications, please increase the size of the pool and retry.. I also kept getting below error message, saying "Method not supported : Statement.cancel()" which I think it is the cause to the error above. <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001131> <Received an exception when closing a cached statement for the pool "MyApp Data Source": java.sql.SQLException: Method not supported : Statement.cancel()..> I went through the app source code, this method didn't seem to be used by the app at all. Just though it might be something to do with weblogic itself. Anyone have any idea to fix this error?

If I have a Company with multiple ProductLines and other companies can offer these same product lines, I have a Company entity, a ProductLine entity and an association table CompanyProductLine. • System.Data.DataException thrown when launching application after install

  I currently have a (Visual Studio 2008) installer that has a 'Primary output...' custom action under 'Install' with 'InstallerClass' set to false. During the install I get a System.Data.DataException. When I run the debugger I am getting an exception being thrown from a bit of database access code that runs when the application starts. The database access is using Windows Authentication and works correctly when the application is started manually. Is this something to do with permission settings not allowing db access when launched from the installer? (I'm out of ideas)
