  • .NET Application using a native DLL (build management)

    I have a .NET app that is dependent on a native DLL. I have the .NET app set as AnyCPU. In the post-build step, I plan to copy the correct native DLL from some directory (x86 or AMD64) and place it in the target path. However, this doesn't work. On a 64-bit machine, the environment variable PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE is "x86" in Visual Studio. My alternative right now is to create a small tool that outputs the processor architecture. This will be used by the post-build step. Is there a better alternative? (Side Note: when deploying/packaging the app, the right native DLL is copied to the right platform. But this means we have two separate release folders for x86 and AMD64, which is OK since this is for a device driver. The app is a utility tool for the driver).

  • How do you uninstall old custom installs of Xcode?

    Hi, When I install a beta, I do a custom install into a separate folder to the latest release version. I have several old beta installs. How do I uninstall the old custom versions of xcode? Can I just trash the folder? Our do I need to use Terminal? The release notes suggest to use this: $ sudo /Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all But will this just uninstall my original official release version 3.2? Thanks.

  • Bug: files uploaded via desktop or web client have hidden tag when listed via API

    Files uploaded to Google Drive sometimes incorrectly have a hidden tag when listed via the Document List v3 REST API: <category scheme='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005/labels' term='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005/labels#hidden' label='hidden'/> This happens if: a subfolder is created via the Google Drive desktop client and files are copied in, or a folder is uploaded via the Google Drive web client. The folder does not have the hidden tag, but the files that were uploaded do. The files do not have this tag if: they are individually uploaded via the Google Drive web client to the subfolder, or they are uploaded via the REST API to the subfolder, or they are uploaded via the desktop client to the My Drive root. The files and folders show up in Google Drive whether they have the hidden tag or not. We're using the API with the following scope: https://docs.google.com/feeds/ https://spreadsheets.google.com/feeds/ https://docs.googleusercontent.com/ I have verified and can recreate this with the OAuth 2.0 playground. Google Drive desktop client version 1.3.3209.2600 on Win7 32-bit I guess these must be bugs in the API...

  • Problem pushing multiple view controllers onto navigation controller stack

    Hi, I am trying to push three view controllers onto the navigation controller. [self.navigationController pushViewController:one animated:YES]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:two animated:YES]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:three animated:YES]; The desired behavior is that view three will show, and when the back button is pressed it will go to view two and then to view one... What actually happens is that view one is visible and pressing back goes to view two and then back again it goes to view one. Which is to say that view one is shown instead of view three. Very strangely, looking at the viewController array of the navigationController after the calls above show the right entries, and looking at the visibleViewController property shows that it has view three in it... even though view one is visible. If i navigate to a sub view from the visible view one (that shows in the place of view three) and press back from that sub view... it goes to view three. It looks like it is showing view one, but knows it is on view three... I am completely confused... any ideas? Jim

  • Help creating custom iPhone Classes

I'm trying to create my own class which will provide a simpler way of playing short sounds using the AudioToolbox framework as provided by Apple. When I import these files into my project and attempt to utilize them, they just don't seem to work.     I'm trying link 40 buttons to one event handler method and then do the processing work from one method instead of 40. I know how to link it but once I get there I don't know how to distinguish what button was pressed. Does anyone know how to reference the button object sender id or is there another way to solve this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I wanted to read images only from the Camera folder of the device. Since the folder might be different for different devices, how can I write a simple application for it). So far I have written the following code, which does read from Camera folder, but it also reads from other places on sdcard as well.   • Background problem on UITableView

    Hi ! I have come to a problem, wich I have no idea how to solve. Can anyone think outside the box and point me to right directions? I would be very thankfull ! The problem. I have a UITableView containing a first row wich is always the same (a empty row with repeating background) Next rows are bounch of dynamic data rows. I have set the yellow background on my UITableView in IBuilder, My cells (except first row) have white background with code: UIView* backgroundView = [ [ [ UIView alloc ] initWithFrame:CGRectZero ] autorelease ]; backgroundView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithRed: 0.96078431372549 green: 0.96078431372549 blue: 0.96078431372549 alpha: 1.0]; cell.backgroundView = backgroundView; for ( UIView* view in cell.contentView.subviews ) { view.backgroundColor = [ UIColor clearColor ]; } The example yellow background, I only want to be showed at the top. As u see img example below. The thing is I dont want to have yellow background under the last datarow, I want to contain same white color I have on the cells. This should be white as the cells.   • Giving another object a NSManagedObject

    Alright, so I'm running into an issue with my code. What I have done is subclassed UIButton so I can give it some more infomormation that pertain to my code. I have been able to create the buttons and they work great. Capiche. However, one of the things I want my subclass to hold is a reference to a NSMangedObject. I have this code in my header file: @interface ButtonSubclass : UIButton { NSManagedObjectContext *context; NSManagedObject *player; } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSManagedObject *player; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSManagedObjectContext *context; - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame andTitle:(NSString*)title; //- (void)setPlayer:(NSManagedObject *)aPlayer; @end As you can see, it has a instance variable to the NSMangedobject I want it to hold (as well as the Context). But for the life of me, I can't get it to hold that NSManagedObject. I run both the @synthesize methods in the Implementation file. @synthesize context; @synthesize player; So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. This is how I create my button: ButtonSubclass *playerButton = [[ButtonSubclass alloc] initWithFrame:frame andTitle:@"20"]; //works playerButton.context = self.context; //works playerButton.player = [players objectAtIndex:i]; //FAILS And I have initilaized the players array earlier, where I get the objects. Another weird thing is that when it gets to this spot in the code, the app crashes (woot) and the the console output stops. It doesn't give me any error, and notification at all that the app has crashed. It just... stops. So I don't even know what the error is that is crashing the code, besides it has to do with that line up there setting the "player" variable. Thoughts and ideas? I'd love your wisdom!

    I am using ListView with ArrayAdapter to filter items in list. I have implemented onListItemClick() method to get clicked item position and call second activity using that value. For example I have countries in my list: Australia Belgium Botswana Belize ... Belgium has position 1 here. However, if i type "Be" to filter items, I get one item as a result: Belgium Now if I click on this item, I get position 0 in onListItemClick(). But this behavior does not fit my needs. How can I get this item's unfiltered position (eg. 1 instead of 0)?

  • iPhone: Navigation Bar button indefinitely links to it's own view.

    Hi there, When I navigate from the root view to another view, it works. However, when I want to get back, the navigation button links to itself. This goes on for about 6 taps, until it eventually goes back to the root view. This only occurs on one view, and the rest are working fine.   • How to recognize the touch of a non regular sprite image ?

    I have a sprite and if it is touched the touch should be recognized. I used the coordinates to do so. I took the coordinates (min x, min y, max x , max y)of the sprite image. But The sprite image is not a rectangular shape. So, even if I touch the coordinates outside the sprite and inside the rectangular bounds the sprite is recognized. But for my application I need only the sprite to be recognized. So, I have to take only the coordinates of the sprite, but it is not regular shape. I am using CCSprite in my program. So, what can I do to for only the sprite to be selected ? Which classes should use for this? Thank You.

  • Debuging to simulator crashes with "exited with status 5" unless I debug

    For some reason the app I am working on has very bad PMT! Literally! Most of the time I cannot debug using the simulator without putting a breakpoint in my AppDelegate. If I don't it exists with "status 5". If I put a break point in and simple continue it works perfectly well, it also works if I run the app in the simulator when not connected to the GDB. I have tried the source on a second machine with exactly the same results. I dont have this issue building to the device?!?!?! Thanks

  • Designing DAOs around a JSON API for iPhone Development

    So I've been trying to design a clean way of grabbing data for my models in iPhone land. All the data for my application is coming from JSON API's. So right now when a VC needs some models, it does the JSON call itself (asynch) and when it receives the data, it builds the models. It works, but I'm trying to think of a cleaner method whereby the DAO's retrieve the information for me and return the models, all in an async manner. My initial thought is build a protocol for my DAOs, such that the VC would instantiate a DAO and make itself the delegate. When you requested data [DAOinstance getAllUsers] the DAO would do all the network request stuff, and then when it had the data, it would call a method on its delegate (the VC) to pass the data. So I think that's a cool solution, but realized that if I needed to use the same DAO for different purposes in the same VC, my delegate method would have to branch logic depending on which DAO instance initiated the request. So my second thought was to be able to pass 'handler' selectors to the DAO object a la typical javascript patterns. So instead of an official protocol, I would say something like [DAOinstance getAllUsersWithSelector:"TheHandlerFunctionOnMyVC:"] Then when the DAO completed its network activities, it would call the passed selector on the VC, and pass the data back. So am I headed in the wrong direction entirely here? Seems like maybe an ok way to go. Any pointers or articles on designing this kind of data layer would be sweet. Thanks! Bob

    I've run into the same problem as found in this question. However, I have a follow-up question. I seem to be in the same situation as the original asker: I have a plist with a hierarchy of dictionaries that define a configuration screen. These are not mutable and will stay the same throughout the application. Since the original discussion seems to focus on problems arising from mutating the dictionary, I must ask for comfirmation: is the order of a dictionary guaranteed the same as they are in the plist, i.e. as it is read (with initWithContentsOfFile)? Can I use allKeys on it in this case to get a correct-order array of keys if the dictionary never changes?

So i thought it would be a good idea to split at least the model from the view/controller(the asp.net project). What Visual Studio 2005 Professional Projecttype is most suitable for this requirement and why?
