• Adding AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute To Paypal ASP.NET SDK

  Currently, I cannot use Paypal Pro on my host (GoDaddy) because it requires Full trust level. After digging in Google, it seems a workaround is possible by adding AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute to the Paypal assembly. I have seen code samples that use AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute in their AssemblyInfo.cs file, however, I've yet to run into a code example that also happens to be using PayPal. My question is where should the AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute be added in my project if my objective is to make the PayPal assembly work? I have tried adding it to my AssemblyInfo.cs for the project that contains the entire website, but I have not been successful. At this point, any insight or shot in the dark would be greatly appreciated. Even if someone could point me in the general direction of some documentation I would be grateful. • Implications of not forwarding http:// to http://www.

  Hi, my company is running IIS and DNN (I'm not a server guy, so color me ignorant), and I've read previous that you should either redirect your .http://www.mydomain to .http://mydomain or Vice Versa. Can anyone give me reasons to do this? (periods "prepended" to remove href) From what I understand, it's because search engines see those as two different 'sites' (Even when visiting one or the other, I can be logged into one but not the other). I also heard it can be a duplicate content problem, which search engines dislike. Just looking for some professional insight, will help me and others. Thanks!

• How do I get a full Magento session in an external script? (Specifically, Catalog Rules)

  I'm running an external script that loads up a Magento session. Within that script, I'm loading products and grabbing a bunch of properties. The one issue is that getFinalPrice() does not apply the catalog rules that apply to the product. I'm doing everything I know to set the session, even a bunch of stuff that I think is superfluous. Nothing seems to get these rules applied. • How can I embed a PDF in a Word Doc, and access that PDF with VBA?

  I have a word doc with some ActiveX buttons on it. When one of these buttons is pressed, a UserForm pops up with a corresponding PDF displayed, like so: This is exactly the behavior I want. However, the problem is that for this to work, the user of the word doc needs to have each of the PDFs saved on their machine as well. Here's the code for one of the buttons: Private Sub AC1Button_Click() DisplayForm.AcroPDF1.LoadFile ("C:\Users\arose\Desktop\Security Control Doc\Sub PDFs\AC1.pdf") DisplayForm.Show End Sub As you can see, the path is hardcoded in. I need to be able to distribute this word doc without needing to distribute a bunch of PDFs along with it, so is there any way to embed PDFs in a word document in such a way that they're accessible by VBA? I've discovered here that it's reasonably easy to embed a PDF in any office doc. And I've tried that: But I can't figure out how to access that PDF object in my VBA code, in order to display it on the UserForm. Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

• How to find NSOutlineView row index when using NSTreeController

  I'm using an NSTreeController to manage nodes for an NSOutlineView. This seems logical: NSInteger row = [entityCollectionOutlineView rowForItem:newNode]; [entityCollectionOutlineView editColumn:0 row:row withEvent:nil select:YES]; However, row is always -1 indicating the object isn't found. Poking around reveals that the tree controller is not actually putting my objects directly in the tree, but is wrapping them in a node object of its own. Anyone have insight into how I would go about getting a row index relative to the outline view, so I can do this (without, hopefully, enumerating everything in the outline view and figuring out the mapping back to my node?)

  I can't seem to call this executable correctly in my psake deploy script. If I do this: exec { "$ArchiverOutputDir\NServiceBus.Host.exe /install" } It simply outputs this (and is clearly not calling the executable - just outputting the value of that expression): c:\ReloDotNet2_ServiceEndpoints\Archiver\NServiceBus.Host.exe /install But if I do this: exec { c:\ReloDotNet2_ServiceEndpoints\Archiver\NServiceBus.Host.exe /install } I get the expected output from the executable. How do I correctly call an executable with a variable in the path to the executable in psake? If this is actually a PowerShell issue, please feel free to correct the question to reflect that insight. • Executing a DTS package from Sql Server 2005

  I am trying to run several DTS packages from a sql 2000 box. The DTS calls will originate from .net 2.0 - 3.5 code. I have been unable to find a good way to programmatically accomplish this. What I have read is running a sql job from a stored procedure that calls the DTS package. Does anyone has any experience with this or know of a good way to call the DTS? Note: For the forseeable future these packages will remain DTS. Eventually we will convert them to SSIS. Any insight or experience would be very helpful.

• Hudson build defaults

  This has been a fairly long-standing problem for us with our Hudson installation, and searching around the Hudson Wiki / Issue Tracker hasn't yielded any insight to this. The question: Is it possible to set certain default values for a maven2 build in Hudson? For example, we want all our projects to run the "clean" goal before a build, we want all our builds to poll the SCM hourly, and we want all our builds to deploy to our maven repository on build success. Right now, we have to manually set these setting for every project individually, which can be rather time consuming as we have 30+ different projects all being managed by Hudson. This is especially annoying if we need to change a particular setting that will affect all projects (e.g. change the repository URL). Given that I couldn't find any mention of this on the Wiki or Issue Tracker leads me to believe that I'm missing something obvious, but I cannot find an answer on my own.

Is there an easier way to do this than to create a custom "inserter" iterator? such that I could do something like: std::set<Id> resultSet; set_difference( idToStringMap.begin(), idToStringMap.end(), idToDoubleMap.begin(), idToDoubleMap.end(), resultSet.begin() ); My experimentation results imply that it will be necessary to create a custom inserter and perhaps a custom key comparer to do this, but I want for some insight/shortcut before doing so.

• Is there anyway to enable MultiSelect in the StyledTextCtrl

  I've noticed that the StyledTextControl (Scintilla basically) in wxWidgets has a great feature that allows multi-selections of text, just like TextMate. However wxRuby doesn't seem to have the function calls to support that feature. I'm wonder if there is a way to enable it or if there might be a way I could rewrite that wrapper to include that function. It seems strange that they would purposely omit that since they are seemingly pretty exhaustive on most functions calls. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to write an open source TextMate clone in Ruby and it's gonna be pretty hard without MultiSelect, I could probably hack something together but it'd be ugly. Thanks ahead of time.

• CakePHP: Why does adding 'Security' component break my app?

  I have a strange problem -- of my own making -- that's cropped up, and is driving me crazy. At some point, I inadvertently destroyed a file in the app/tmp directory...I'm not sure which file. But now my app breaks when I include the "Security" component, and works just fine when it's not included. I'm thinking it might be related to the Security.salt value somehow, or possibly to the saved session info, but I don't really have a deep enough knowledge of CakePHP to figure it out. Can anyone offer any insight here?

• Can ActionScript tell when a SWF was published?

  I'd like to write a little class that adds a Day/Month box showing the date a SWF was published from Flash. The company I work for regularly produces many, many SWFs and many versions of each, iterating over the course of months. A version-tracking system we've been using to communicate with our clients is a Day/Month date-box that gives the date the SWF was published. Up until now, we've been filling in the publish date by hand. If there's any way I can do this programatically with ActionScript that'd be fantastic. Any insight? Basically, all I need is the call that gives me the publish date, or even.. anything about the circumstances under which a SWF was published that I could use to roll into some form of.. automated version identification, unique to this SWF. So, can ActionScript tell when a SWF was published?

• -sizeWithFont Functions Differently on Device

  So I am seemingly encountering some strange behavior when using NSString's -sizeWithFont family of method calls depending on whether or not I'm invoking it on the iPhone Simulator or an actual device. Simply enough, when the receiver of the -sizeWithFont method call is nil, the resulting CGSize passed back on the Simulator is {0, 0}. However, on the device, it is the size of the bounding rectangle I specified in the method call. See the following log statements: Simulator: someString: (null) someStringSize: {0, 0} Device: someString: (null) someStringSize: {185, 3.40282e+38} The behavior on the Simulator is what I would expect. Not that this issue is difficult to circumvent, but 1) I'm a little confused why this family of functions would behave differently on the Simulator and an actual device, and 2) why does calling a method on a nil receiving return a particular result? Thanks for any pointers or insight you guys can provide! EDIT: I suppose I should mention that I'm building against the 3.1 SDK.

• how to prevent hacking of a WP site

  I have a WP install, and every few weeks some hackers keep adding some bunk script to the bottom of certain files, making the WP site not function. I've changed the user/pass to WP and this obviously isn't working. I'm thinking since they are effecting files that are not visible via the WP login files (which are just theme files) then does this mean they are getting access to the FTP and making their hacks there? If they are getting into FTP then why wouldn't they just remove all docs? Any insight would be greatly appreciate it. While I appreciate the billable hours to find/remove this code every few days the client isn't as excited about it as I am.

  I have a couple of questions about connectivity on Android, if anyone has any insight it would be great. What is the default when an application wants to wirelessly connect? Is it wlan? And if wlan is switched off or there is no access points around is it 3g or gprs? Is a device always ip connected? Or when its disabled from wlan or 3g does it lose its ip address? Is an application, for example the browser only ever connected to one ip address? Or can it be connected to multiple addresses for each radio such as gprs or wifi (wlan)? Can an application decide which connection to open a socket to? For example can I create an application and decide whether to connect the socket to the wlan or gprs? Or does the OS decide? Finally how do native applications handle connectivity? In the same manner?

• Can I specify which VCS module or adaptor is used by a Luntbuild buiulder or schedule?

  I have luntbuild set up and working great for my project, with several different builder schedules running on trunk. Now, I just created a branch, and I want to add at least one schedule (and corresponding builder, if necessary) to build that branch (I want the branch built separately from trunk). Is this possible? Some others in my company have just created separate projects in Luntbuild for their branches, but I feel like that might not be the ideal solution. So, to reiterate, I want to build this branch continuously. If I just add a second module to the current setup, it tries to build both trunk and the branch together. I want them build separately. Thanks for any insight! EDIT: The bounty is about to end, and still no answers. I have worked around the original problem by creating a new project in LB, but I feel like there must be a better way.

  Hi all.. I wrote this program, that is supposed to read about 5000 email address and send an pre-defined html mail. I am using the background worker component. The problem is this: I have wired up the method who is supposed to send the mail. But I am calling another method that is supposed to append the body html to the salutation, like public string GiveMeFullHtml(string personname) ... "Dear Mr. John Doe" + HTML ... It seems that when it hits this method call, operation completes. IUt only sends the first mail and completes. I think because the HTML string method is on another thread or sth like that. Can you give me a little insight. Do I have to get everything done in the very same method when using multi-threading? Thanks in advance

• Knockout.js nested sortable bindings

  I am working with the knockout.js sortable plugin; however, I ran into a problem that I have so far been unable to solve. I have two sortable bindings, one for buckets and another for bucketItems. I am able to reorder bucketItems between buckets and between buckets; however, I am unable to reorder buckets. Would you have any idea why this would be? I am also using nested with bindings, but as far as I can tell, this is not what is causing problems. I would greatly appreciate any insight you have to offer. Thank you so much for your time!

Anyone have any insight as to why this transition won't run? Something I need to import?

• Slow page unload in IE

  I am developing a site which creates many table rows dynamically. The total amount of rows right now is 187. Everything works fine when creating the rows, but in IE when I leave the page, there is a large amount of lag. I do not know if this is some how related to the heavy DOM manipulation I am doing in the page? I do not create any function closures when building the dynamic content's event handlers so I do not believe this problem is related to memory leaks. Any insight is much appreciated.

• Release a retain UIImage property loaded via imageNamed?

  In my class object i've defined a (nonatomic, retain) property for UIImage. I assigned this property with an image loaded via [UIImage imageNamed:@"file.png"]; If at some point I want to reassign this property to another image, should I have to release the prior reference? I am confused because by the retain property I know i should release it. But because imageNamed is a convenience method (does not use alloc), im not sure what rule to apply here.   I know this may end up getting closed quickly. I could not find this in my searching through APIs. And this is probably a very simple question but here we go... How do you store data on a google application you create in which you and others in a specific group or more specifically the people who can edit a specific calendar, can reach this data? Person A,B,C have read/write access to a calendar, and lets say they want to co-ordinate information. I want this information to not be accessible to modify by all 3 though it is not stored in a calendar? (Though I thought about just creating an event in 1900 and then that fullfills that, but at the same time is a very hack way to do it) I would appreciate any insight you can give me when it comes to data handling in google applications, I am very new to it, but have been looking into it.
