  Hello, I would like your advice about how best to solve my problem. In a Web server is running. NET Framework 4.0. Whatever the methods and technologies you would advise me. applications built on the basis Asp.NET MVC 2. I have a database table in MS SQL Server. For each database, I must implement the interface for viewing, editing, and deleting. So code generator must generate model, controller and views.. Generation should happen after clicking on the button. as model I use .NET Entity Framework. Now, I need to generate controllers and views. I want to do it using a lambda expression. I am aware what I typed above will compile and will bring back all Persons matching the search criteria with their addresses and each addresses' mailbox eager loaded, but it's in a string which irritates me.   I work with code written by other people, occasionally I am left somewhat confused and at these times Stack Overflow saves me. Please, save me again. Our site allows people to upload images and later embed them within text in our site like so: <img src="http://site.com/image_script.php?p=some_image_identifier"/> My question is: If the identifier, "p", does not lead us to an image should the server return "500" or "404"? I would have thought it should be "404", but that's not what is happening right now.

• XSLT: Is there a way to "inherit" canned functionality?

  i am once again having to cobble together a bit of XSLT into order to turn generated XML into (rather than simply generating HTML). i'm having huge deja-vu this time again. i'm once again having to solve again basic problems, e.g.: how to convert characters into valid html entity references how to preserve whitespace/carriage returns when converting to html how to convert to HTML as opposed to xhtml how to convert dates from xml format into presentable format how to tear apart strings with substring This is all stuff that i've solved many times before. But every time i come back to XSLT i have to start from scratch, re-inventing the wheel every time. If it were a programming language i would have a library of canned functions and procedures i can call. i would have subroutines to perform the commonly repeated tasks. i would inherit from a base class that already implements the ugly boilerplate stuff. Is there any way in XSLT to grow, expand and improve the ecosystem with canned code?

Can someone tell me where is the mistake? In advance : the entity reaches the point of update with all the properties correctly set. EF just fails to update the FK in the Database (no exception though)

On top of that my boos is really looking into a tool called CodeOnTime http://codeontime.com/default.aspx because he likes their good UI support. I am asking here because I really want an unbiased opinion. I am not sure if LLBGen can also generate the UI. So far all the development in the house we do it the classic way coding each layer manually. However we are in need of a fast prototyping tool. • Caching generated QR Code

  I use zxing to encode a qr code and store it as a bitmap and then show it in ImageView. Since the image generation time is significant I'm planning to move it to a separate thread (AsyncTaskLoader will be fine I think). The problem is - it's an image and I know that to avoid memory leaks one should never store a strong reference to it in an Activity. So how would you do it? How to cache an image to survive config changes (phone rotation) and generally avoid generating it onCreate()? Just point me in the right direction, please.

I was wondering if anyone knew a best practice for the design of the code generator portion. I currently have everything parsed into an abstract syntax tree.   CodeSmith has a nice StringUtils class that can be used to change database object names to singular, plural, camel case, pascal case, etc... Very useful for creating data access layers in their code generation tool. I'm trying to port some CodeSmith templates to the T4 template files used by Visual Studio, and I'm trying to find a similar library to do these things. There must be one somewhere in T4, since that's what is used to produce the LINQ to SQL classes, and it does a nice job of pluralization / singularization. Does anyone know where this library exists, or if a free library with similar functionality exists somewhere? Thanks!

  Hi All, I have this custom written CMS built on XAMPP. I'm trying to test the same on lighttpd to benchmark the so-called performance gains... but am stuck at the rewrite rules. I use the default rewrite rules of WordPress in my .htaccess which hands all url parsing over to my script as long as there aren't any files or directories same as the URL structure. • A PHP regex to extract php functions from code files

  I'm trying to make a PHP regex to extract functions from php source code. Until now i used a recursive regex to extract everything between {} but then it also matches stuff like if statements. When i use something like: preg_match_all("/(function .(.))({([^{}]+|(?R))*})/",$this-data,$matches2); It doesn't work when there is more than 1 function in the file (probably because it uses the 'function' part in the recursiveness too). • Cannot find code completion and suggestions in Aptana 2.0

  Greetings, I recently started using Aptana 1.5 to work on a site via FTP, developing pages in .php format with a mixture of HTML, CSS, jQuery, and -- naturally -- PHP. I develop a page with all of these elements together to save time, then separate them. One thing that I really liked about Aptana 1.5 was that it completed code (brackets, parentheses, etc) and suggested things as I typed. I upgraded to 2.0 today and cannot figure out for the life of me how to bring back all of these capabilities -- or remember if I had to do anything in 1.5 to get them. Here is a picture of what I am looking for Notice the suggestion for margin: and the "HTML, Js, CSS" up top. Any help with getting this to work in 2.0 would be greatly appreciated. Ever since installing 2.0, 1.5 has been throwing error messages and I can't seem to get my FTP settings to stay locked in.

• Code/Approach Golf: Find row in text file with too many columns

  Given a text file that is supposed to contain 10 tab-delimited columns (i.e. 9 tabs), I'd like to find all rows that have more than 10 columns (more than 9 tabs). Each row ends with CR-LF. Assume nothing about the data, field widths, etc, other than the above. Comments regarding approach, and/or working code would be extremely appreciated. Bonus for printing line numbers of offending lines as well. Thanks in advance!
