    Hi. I am writing an android app. I want to pass some data across the intents/activities and I feel that a conversion to and from JSON is probably a more optimal way at this point. I am able to convert a java hashmap to a json string successfully using JSONObject support. However i need to convert back this JSON string to a java object or a hashmap. What is the best way to go about it. Is parcelable really a change worth doing; if I have simple 5 field object? What are the other ways to transfer data between intents. Cheers

    using ImageMagick, what command should i use to convert a PDF to PNG? I need highest quality, smallest file size. this is what I have so far (very slow by the way): convert -density 300 -depth 8 -quality 85 a.pdf a.png Looking at what Gmail does when a user "view" a PDF, the quality is awesome and the file size very minimal. The DPI is just 96 (I have to set a density of 300 to get anything decent). Anyone know how GMail does it? Thanks.

    We are using PD4ML library to convert HTML to PDF. Is there any way with which I can include a image from the internet in my HTML to convert it into PDF. I am having problem in getting the image into PDF. I tried using base parameter in the PD4ML library but that didn't worked out. May be I am doing something wrong or PD4ML doesn't support including image from the internet. Because when I discussed my problem with other colleagues, found out that when we use the image from local server it gets to the PDF but image from internet don't. I am bound to use PD4ML, so solution with PD4ML only will be highly appreciated.

  • PHP Convert C# Hex Blob Hexadecimal String back to Byte Array prior to decryption

    I have a piece of data that I am receiving in hexadecimal string format, example: "65E0C8DEB69EA114567954". It was made this way in C# by converting a byte array to a hexadecimal string. However, I am using PHP to read this string and need to temporarily convert this back to the byte array. If it matters, I will be decrypting this byte array, then reconverting it to unencrypted hexadecimal and or plaintext, but I will figure that out later. So the question is, how do I convert a string like the above back to an encoded byte array/ blob in PHP? Thanks!

    I know this probably is not strictly a programming-question (well maybe it is, i don't know) but i'm having serious problems trying to convert a regular pdf (with hyperlinks, bookmarks, images, embedded fonts etc.) into a PDF/A-1 format. I get all kinds of errors when i check it with pdfaPilot. How can i prepare a pdf so no problems will occur when i try to convert to PDF/A-1. Most problems can be fixed with pdfaPilot but apparently not all. One of the problems i get is with the XMP Metadata which are "not properly defined". Wat exactly does this mean, and can i do something to prevent this. Another one is: "Syntax problem: Array with more than 8191 elements" (i hope this one is solvable) I hope someone can help me out here, since i'm in a tight spot right now with deadlines that are killing me.

    I've opened up my 2008 solution file for the first time but it only offers to upgrade one of my projects (a database project). All the other projects are ignored. The conversion wizard runs and I see the Welcome screen. I click next. I then see the Ready to Convert screen but it only offers to convert the solution file and the one project. There is no mention of all my other projects. I click Finish and all of my other projects are unavailable. What can I do?

The Layer is a Polygon, but the code won't convert it to a IPolygon. Can anyone help me out? This is the code I am using to try and convert it to a IPolygon...     I'm having difficulty using reinterpret_cast. Before I show you my code I'll let you know what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get a filename from a vector full of data being used by a MIPS I processor I designed. Basically what I do is compile a binary from a test program for my processor, dump all the hex's from the binary into a vector in my c++ program, convert all of those hex's to decimal integers and store them in a DataMemory vector which is the data memory unit for my processor. I also have instruction memory. So When my processor runs a SYSCALL instruction such as "Open File" my C++ operating system emulator receives a pointer to the beginning of the filename in my data memory. So keep in mind that data memory is full of ints, strings, globals, locals, all sorts of stuff. When I'm told where the filename starts I do the following: Convert the whole decimal integer element that is being pointed to to its ASCII character representation, and then search from left to right to see if the string terminates, if not then just load each character consecutively into a "filename" string. Do this until termination of the string in memory and then store filename in a table. My difficulty is generating filename from my memory.     The argument my C# function is getting is a string which is merely a Date or a DateTime. I am suppose to convert this String to DateTime, to carry on furthure calculation. Now I need to test whether the incoming data is a Date, if it is date(examle:"12/31/2009"), then I need to add "00:00:00" (24 hours format) to it, so that it will become "12/31/2009 00:00:00". If string manipulation is one possible way, I want to confirm whether there is some other way where we can automate the testing and conversion within DateTime.TryParseExact() method.
