• Select parameter not working on SqlDataSource.

  I am using the stored procedure below for the select command of a SqlDataSource, and I'm trying to pass a query string parameter, but I get this error: Procedure or function 'ActivationCampaignGetById' expects parameter '@campaignId', which was not supplied. • Qt: Background color on QStandardItem using StyleSheet

  Hi I have a class that inherits QStandardItem and I put the elements in a QTreeWidget. The class receive notifications from the outside and I want to change the background color of the item based on what happened. If I do not use stylesheets it works just fine, like this: void myClass::onExternalEvent() { setBackground(0, QColor(255,0,0))); } However as soon as I put a stylesheet on the QTreeWidget this has no effect, the stylesheet seems to override the setBackground call. So I tried : void myClass::onExternalEvent() { this-setStyleSheet("background-color: red"); } but this is probably all wrong, it changed the color of some other element on my screen, not sure why. So anyone have an idea on how I can alter the background color like with setBackgroundColor but still be able to use stylesheet on my QTreeWidget?

• Synchronize model in MySQL Workbench

  After reading the documentation for MySQL Workbench I got the impression that it's possible to alter a database in the server (e.g. add a new column) and later incorporate the DDL changes into your EER diagram. At least, it has a Synchronize Model option in the Database menu. I found it a nice feature because I could use a graphic modelling tool without becoming its prisoner. In practice, when I run such tool I'm offered these options: Model Update Source ================ ====== ====== my_database_name --> ! N/A my_table_name --> ! N/A N/A --> ! my_database_name N/A --> ! my_table_name I can't really understand it, but leaving it as is I basically get: DROP SCHEMA my_database_name CREATE SCHEMA my_database_name CREATE TABLE my_table_name This is dump of the model that overwrites all remote changes in my_table_name. Am I misunderstanding the feature?

• Foreign key reference to a two-column primary key

  One of my tables has a two-column primary key: CREATE TABLE tournament ( state CHAR(2) NOT NULL, year INT NOT NULL, etc..., PRIMARY KEY(state, year) ); I want a reference to the tournament table from another table, but I want this reference to be nullable. Here's how I might do it, imagining that a winner doesn't necessarily have a tournament: CREATE TABLE winner ( name VARCHAR NOT NULL, state CHAR(2) NULL, year INT NULL ); If state is null but year is not, or vice-versa, the table would be inconsistent. I believe the following FOREIGN KEY constraint fixes it: ALTER TABLE winner ADD CONSTRAINT FOREIGN KEY fk (name, state) REFERENCES tournament (name, state); Is this the proper way of enforcing consistency? Is this schema properly normalized?

  I am working on my first desktop app that queries LDAP. I'm working in C under unix and using opends, and I'm new to LDAP. After woking a while on that I noticed that the user could be able to alter the LDAP query by injecting malicious code. I'd like to know which sanitizing techniques are known, not only for C/unix development but in more general terms, i.e., web development etc. I thought that escaping equals and semicolons would be enough, but not sure. • How to map old paths to Drupal paths

  I'm converting a Wordpress blog to Drupal and need to map the WP paths to the new Drupal ones. What's the best practice for doing this? There are only around a hundred pages to map. I've been experimenting with the URL Alter module, which provides an alternative to messing with custom_url_rewrite functions settings.php but keep getting 404. Waiting to hear back from the module maintainer if this is what the module is intended for. In the meantime I am wondering how others do this? Should I be using .htaccess?

• Labeling connections using Oracle Universal Connection Pool (UCP) doesn't seem to work

  I'm evaluating the Oracle Universal Connection Pool (UCP) included with their 11.2 JDBC driver, but cannot get the labeling functionality to work properly (which I'd like to use to minimize the amount of ALTER SESSION statements). I'm basically following their sample code to implement the ConnectionLabelingCallback interface. The callback method cost(Properties reqLabels, Properties currentLabels) is called as expected, so the callback seems to be configured correctly. However, the other callback method configure(Properties reqLabels, Object conn) is passed arguments that make it impossible to provide a meaningful implementation: reqLabels is always null, so the callback method has no way of knowing what labels need to be set. conn is of type oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CConnection, which cannot be cast to LabelableConnection, so the callback method has no way of inspecting or manipulating the labels attached to the connection. My code is running on Java 6 and using ojdbc6.jar and ucp.jar version 11.2.0.1.0. The database is actually 10.2, but that should not be a problem according to the docs, since the UCP functionality is completely implemented in the JDBC driver. Thanks in advance!

• Why does this jquery slideToggle code not work?

  I am trying to alter the button text for a expand/collapse button. Basically, a user clicks "Collapse" and I perform a slideToggle and when the slideToggle is done, I change the button text to "Expand" and vice-versa. The following code works great however if you click the expand/collapse button rapidly, it looses its mind and shows "Expand" when it's already expanded or "Collapse" when it's already collapsed. Any tips are appreciated. • using WP_Query with custom SQL in wordpress

  Hi. I am writing a plugin for wordpress and I want to create my own search. I have tried to alter the wordpress search, but what I am doing is very specific with the SQL query. I am comparing lat and long coordinates and getting posts based on that. I can display posts by using the standard wpdb query, but then I don't get the other features like paging. I'd like to be able to use my SQL statement with the WP_Query function. If I'm right in thinking, I should then be able to use the paging and other features which come from the $posts global variable. Is this right?? I've googled for hours but can't find anything for plugins outside of using args to select categories etc. I simply need to send a complete SQL command - nothing else. Many thanks....

  I´m trying out entity framework included in VS2010 but ´ve hit a problem with my database/model generated from the graphical interface.   Hi, i have a validation class which needs improving. If I require some custom validation I need to specify a custom function. It works a bit like this: The controller tells the validation that a custom validation function is required. The controller runs the validation. --- Gets iffy here --- Validation class creates a new instance of the controller class.... Validation class runs controller-custom_validation_function() Validation class returns true / false Is there someway that I can alter this to do something like this? $validation = new validation; // Insert rules here. $validation-function() = $this-function(); By doing this I could get rid of the step of creating an unneeded class instance.

• Can django's auth_user.username be varchar(75)?

  Django's auth_user.username field is 30 characters. That means you can't have auth_user.username store an email address. If you want to have users authenticate based on their email address it would seem you have to do some wonky stuff like writing your own authentication backend which authenticates based on (email, password) instead of (username, password) and furthermore, figuring out what you're going to put in the username field since it is required and it is a primary key. Do you put a hash in there, do you try to put the id in there... bleh! Why should you have to write all this code and consider edge cases simply because username is too small for your (farily common) purposes? Is there anything wrong with running alter table on auth_user to make username be varchar(75) so it can fit an email? What does that break if anything?

• Spring redirect: prefix issue

  Hello, I have an application which uses Spring 3. I have a view resolver which builds my views based on a String. So in my controllers I have methods like this one. @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "tiles:tileName" } I need to return a RedirectView to solve the duplicate submission due to updating the page in the browser, so I have thought to use Spring redirect: prefix. The problem is that it only redirects when I user a URL alter the prefix (not with a name a resolver can understand). I wanted to do something like this: @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "redirect:tiles:tileName" } Is there any way to use RedirectView with the String (the resolvable view name) I get from the every controller method? • Test Column exists, Add Column, and Update Column

  I'm trying to write a SQL Server database update script. I want to test for the existence of a column in a table, then if it doesn't exist add the column with a default value, and finally update that column based on the current value of a different column in the same table. I want this script to be runnable multiple times, the first time updating the table and on subsequent runs the script should be ignored.   For a project I need to automate creation of business cards. Now, they have a InDesign file for each business card template. They insert the info of alle the people in the indesign file and then generate a pdf of it. Now, entering the information of customers in a web application is no problem, but how will I generate a pdf and how will I alter the indesign file at runtime? I think that altering the indesign file will be not possible programmatically? Could I generate a pdf from the indesign with one card template in it. At runtime I would copy the card in the pdf x number of times. Then I would need to inject the information of the people (name, address, ...)? What's possible here? The final pdf is used by a machine that automatically creates the business cards, cuts them, ...

• Locking on an object...

  I often see code like that which is shown here, ie where an object is allocated and then used as a "lock object". It seems to me that you could use any object for this, including the event itself as the lock object. Why allocate a new object that does nothing? My understanding is that calling lock() on an object doesn't actually alter the object itself, nor does it actually lock it from being used, it's simply used as a placeholder for multiple lock statements to anchor on. So my question is, is this really a good thing to do?

  I'm trying to use Shark to determine which method(s) are taking the most time in my iPhone app. After sampling, I get this: Clicking the "!" button yields: Shark was unable to find symbol information for this address range. Typically this happens because the application was compiled without symbols or they have been subsequently stripped away. In Xcode, make sure the "Generate Debug Symbols" checkbox is selected (passes the -g flag to the compiler). Note that this does not affect code optimization, and does not typically alter performance significantly. However, the extra symbol information does consume significantly more space and may bloat the size of the executable. But I AM using the Debug option, and I am running on my Device. And Generate Debug Symbols IS checked. So what's wrong?

  Hi, I use Drupal 6.x. In my own module I alter each node form an add my own validation handler to it using $form['#validate'][] = 'my_own_validation_function'; Then I have the function function my_own_validation_function($form, &$form_state) { //if validation fails, i would like to rebuild the form to add additional form elements in hook_form_alter $form_state['rebuild'] = True; } My problem ist, that the validation functions does not respect my 'rebuild' = True becaus the form is never processed by hook_form_alter after validation. But I need hook_form_alter to add my additional form element. Is there a solution for my problem? Or are form_state changes in an own validation handler not respected even if I set &$form_state as a "pointer"? Thanks and cheers.

  EDIT Taking COST 100 out made the command go through, however, I'm still unable to run my query because it yields this error: ERROR: function group_concat(character) does not exist HINT: No function matches the given name and argument types. You may need to add explicit type casts. The query I'm running is this: select tpid, group_concat(z) as z, group_concat(cast(r as char(2))) as r, group_concat(to_char(datecreated,'DD-Mon-YYYY HH12:MI am')) as datecreated, group_concat(to_char(datemodified,'DD-Mon-YYYY HH12:MI am')) as datemodified from tpids group by tpid order by tpid, zip This function seems to work fine locally, but moving it online yields this error... Is there something I'm missing? • Batch View updates

  I want to load a bunch of view definitions into SQL Server 2005 & 2008. I am using IF/ELSE logic to dynamically building Create or Alter statements that I then EXEC. This works fine. However, unless I get the order of the statements correct, I get errors if a view is dependent on another view that would be created in a later statement. Is there a way to turn of the valiation of the SQL statements until after they have all been entered? It seems like the worst of both worlds. SQL Server does late binding and so it won't propogate changes to tables and views, but you can't create a view without all the pieces being in place.

• Database Version Control SQL Server 2008 Drop SP's and Functions

  I'm working on versioning our database and now searching for a way to drop all stored procedures and functions from a C# Console Application. I'd rather not create a stored procedure that drops all stored procedures and functions. I has to be some sql executed from C#. I tried to drop the stored procedure before creating it, but I get this message: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: 'CREATE/ALTER PROCEDURE' must be the first statement in a query batch. Script for one SP for example: DROP PROCEDURE [dbo].[sp_Economatic_LoadJournalEntryFeedbackByData] SET ANSI_NULLS ON SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[sp_Economatic_LoadJournalEntryFeedbackByData] @Data VARCHAR(MAX) AS BEGIN ... END So I guess before creating all SP's and functions I'll need to drop all SP's and functions first with one sql script.
