• iPhone: Using static library in an application crashes the device but not the iphone simulator

  I have a library I made, and now I want to utilize it in an application. I've believe I've properly linked to the library. Here are all the things I've done: Set the header search path Set other linker flags to "-ObjC" Added the static library xcode project Made sure the lib.a was listed as a framework target Added the library as a direct dependency Like I said in the title, I've successfully run the app with the static library in the simulator. • Visual Studio Crashes when using Crystal Reports Group Editor

  I have a crystal report in my Visual Studio 2008 ASP.NET project, and when I choose "Group Expert" from the Crystal Reports - Report menu, Visual Studio crashes / hangs and I have to use Task Manager to close the program. This happens no matter how many times I try, and oddly enough it seems to work fine on another computer with the same project. Any help at all in the right direction would be greatly appreciated as I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. I am using Visual Studio 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2005 Developer SP2, Windows Vista Enterprise SP1, and the version of Crystal Reports that came with the Visual Studio installation.

• After making a call programatically, my android app crashes

  Hello! The title explains all... I have this snippet of code in my application: String url = createTelUrl("3112007315"); Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_CALL); intent.setData(Uri.parse(url)); context.startActivity(intent); It does make a call, but once the call ends, my application crashes. I'd like to return to my application once the call has finished, but I read this post and it seems not to be possible. So... is there anyway to at least pause my application and resume it once the call has finished? Thank you so much for reading.

  We are running visual studio 2008 (with the service pack) and having troubles when we are debugging an asp classic website. We can attach to the w3p process and debug just fine. breakpoints work, we can view variable values. The difficulty arises when it comes time to detach or stop the debugger. Every time we take either approach (detach or stop the debugger) we get a series of crashes from Visual studio. Has anyone seen anything like this? Any suggestions on what to look at?

• Memory leak found with clang but cant release and autorelease crashes

  I have a class that builds a request based on a few passed in variables. The class also has all the delegate methods to receive the data and stores it in a property for the calling class to retrieve. When the class initializes it creates a connection and then returns itself: NSURLConnection *connection; if (self = [super init]) { self.delegate = theDelegate; ...some code here... connection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:theRequest delegate:self startImmediately:YES]; } return self; So I can't release it normally and if I autorelease it crashes. Is it the job of the calling class to release? And if so does just releasing the initilised object also release connection or do you have to release it specifically? If so how would you? Thanks

  Hello, I'm using Visual Studio 2008 (programming in c). I've a weird problem I worte a program that has 2 threads that runs simultaneously, a recording thread (using audio card to record into memory) and a translation thread (using a speech engine to recognize the words). when I run my program in debug mode (aka setting a breakpoint in the code) it runs great, however when I run in debug mode or release mode (outside the visual studio enviroment) it crashes and give me the following exception: "Unhandled exception at 0x7c911129 in LowLevel.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x014c7245." • Eclipse crashes during SVN merges

  I am currently using Eclipse Version: 3.5.1. It works perfectly in normal conditions, even with the SVN plugin, the faulty component that I am about to talk about now. The thing is that whenever I am conducting a merge, eclipse shuts down. It just crashes without even leaving an error message or anything else. It happens too often so that I can hardly normally. I am now using RapidSVN for merges. However, I would still like to know if there is any way to improve my eclipse condition.

  I have created an account type using the AccountAuthenticator stuff as done in the SampleSyncAdapter tutorial. I am now trying to get account preferences working.   How do I set up gdb on window so that it does not allow a program with assertion failure to terminate? I intend to check the stack trace and variables in the program. When I create a new Windows-based universal app with Core Data (File New Project Windows-based Application --- select Universal in drop down and check the "Use Core Data for storage" check box) the app launches fine into the iPhone simulator but crashes in the iPad simulator. • XCode Developer Documentation crashes after clicking any link on the startup screen

  I just installed XCode 3.2.1. When I open the Developer Documentation and click any link on the startup screen, XCode crashes. Has anyone run into this problem? Also hints as to how to debug would be excellent -- I've only been using XCode for a week. I can still get into the documentation if I open some code and then right-click a symbol and choose "Find in Documentation." But its annoying that I can't just open the docs and browse them.

• Shark tool on iphone crashes

  Hi, I am trying to use Shark to profile my app. However, it crashes after I hit "stop" and it analyzes and then goes to "load session". Only once when I decided not to select my app but chose to target "everything" did it actually display some trace. However, I could not reproduce this case. Does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong? Could it be something to do with the wrong version of Shark or my SDK or some other detail? I have the latest SDK and am running 3.1.3 on the phone. The various documentation I've found on google or via Apple's docs don't seem to be terribly helpful, so if anyone has found some that's useful, I'd love to see it. Thanks.

  I just upgraded to SDK 3.2. My application runs in Simulator 3.0 in debug mode but when I change the Simulator to run with 3.2 it crashes with EXEC_BAD_ACCESS. • mySQL database password change now crashes Joomla.

  I have a mySQL database behind a Joomla install. I changed the database password because I forgot it but now Joomla crashes looking for the database. I guess joomla has the password written somewhere - if anyone knows I might be able to manual edit it and enter the new database password. Otherwise I'm hoping a manual install of a backup of the original database will work. I need to know does a backup include the database password. • Mysqld Crashes immediately on running on Windows 7...?

  I am trying to run MySql 5.1 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I have downloaded the MSI installer from the MYSql website and installed it. The installation is successful, but the service does not start. If I try to run MySql manually using the mysqld executable, it crashes immediately on running (error: mysqld.exe has stopped working). Earlier mysql was running on the machine, but I had some problem with it (wasn't executing big queries) and installed it again which somehow broke the program. I had installed it to work as a service which started giving me this isse, and now it won't work even if I don't install it as a service. I have tried removing the mysql folder and re-installing. Is there somewhere else where Mysql saves configuration info or other data? Has anyone else found this problem and solved it? How can I find out why the process is failing to run?

  I am having a bit of an issue with this problem. I am taking a Pascal programming class and this problem was in my logic book. I am required to have the user enter a series of (+) numbers and once he/she enters a (-) number, the program should find the sum of all the (+) numbers. I accomplished this, but now I am attempting part two of this problem, which requires me to utilize a nested loop to run the program x amount of times based on the user's input. • ADB crashes when device attached with eclipse

  I am trying to get a development environment setup and having some problems with adb. I have eclipse installed and can create android projects and run/debug them in the emulator. But if I attached my device (HTC Evo) and try running on it, adb crashes. My device shows up so adb sees it. Everything is updated to the latest version. I even went and reinstalled my system so I had a clean start. It would still crash when I connect to the device. I restart adb but it just shuts right back down. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? Running on Windows 7.

  I am creating an app using ARC but my app is crashing due to Received memory warning. The App is working fine in simulator. But in case of iphone device, If i run the app for few minutes then on doing anything, the app crashes straightaway. I have checked my app by xcode instrument. My app folder size is 6 MB but all memory allocation is showing 63 MB on xcode instrument. Because of this reason, presentViewController-Animated-Completion is getting slow during navigation. • Visual Studio 2008 Create Word 2007 Template Project Crashes

  I've got this weird crashing happening when creating a C# Word 2007 Template Project in Visual Studio 2008. The IDE tells me that it's creating the project (it does create the solution and C# vsproj as well as the dotx and cs files). Then the IDE just crashes - no errors, messages, etc. When I try devenv /SafeMode it still doesn't work. I've also tried devenv /log but I don't really see any smoking guns. I have VS2008 SP1 and VSTO 3.0 SP1 installed. Anybody know why this is occurring or more importantly, how I can get it to stop?

• Chaining jQuery animations using recursion crashes browser

  Here's the basic idea of what I'm trying to do: Set the innerHTML of a DIV to some value X Animate the DIV When the animation finishes, change the value of X and repeat N times If I do this in a loop, what ends up happening is, because the animations occur asynchronously, the loop finishes and the DIV is set to its final value before the animations have had a chance to run for each value of X. As this question notes, the best way to solve this problem is to make a recursive call to the function in the callback handler for the animation. This way the value of the DIV doesn't change until the animation of the previous value is complete. This works perfectly...to a point. If I animate a bunch of these DIVs at the same time, my browser gets overwhelmed and crashes. Too much recursion. Can anyone think of a way to do this without using recursion?

  Hi. I have been asked to update a program written in 1987 in Delphi (I guess). I have no documentation about this program only a few side notes the programmer took that don't make too much sense to make. The cd show this files: Size | Filename - 19956 VP.DTA - 142300 VP.LEX - 404 VP.NDX - 126502 VP.RCS - 131016 VP.SCR - 150067 VP.XEL - 101791 vp.exe Is anyone of this files a database? If so can I access it's data? I tried several code decompilers but they show a message saying it was not a Win32 compatible application. The program run in MS-DOS. Is it possible to obtain the source code? Can I use this code in any way to build a new application? Thanks Update01: I can run the program in MSDOS. The program conjugate verbs and shows an example sentence where the verb can be used. The GUI is a little bit confusing and there is no help menu so I can't see all the capabilities of the program.
