• Drupal - Hide a single page from search index

  Hi, I've taken over an existing Drupal installation and have been asked to remove a single page from the site search results. I know about the lullabot tutorial through this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1748837/hide-drupal-nodes-from-search, but that talks about excluding a class of content when I really just want to exclude a single page. I've tried manually deleting the node from the search_index table, but that didn't seem to work either. Any recommendations for excluding a single regular content page from the search index?

• Cross-platform, cross-browser way to play sound using jQuery 1.4?

  I'm trying to get jQuery to play a sound on element hover/click. (It's like a flash website without flash) I've tried the methods recommended in Cross-platform, cross-browser way to play sound from Javascript?, the jQuery Sound plugin and a couple of other tutorials without any success. I'm assuming this is because they haven't been updated since 2008. Does anyone have any recommendations?

• php $_SESSION[document_root] too far down the tree

  Hi, I have multiple sub-domains within the document_root. And multiple folders/classes within those sub-domain folders. I need something that will help me with my include_once paths, but $_SESSION[DOCUMENT_ROOT] goes too far down. And if I were to use this, and transfer the website folder later, all my include_once paths will/might break. Hope my question is clear... Any recommendations?

  When I have a string like "0xd8 0xff 0xe0" I do Text.Split(' ').Select(part => byte.Parse(part, System.Globalization.NumberStyles.HexNumber)).ToArray(); But if I got string like "0xd8ffe0" I don't know what to do ? also I'm able for recommendations how to write byte array as one string.

  I've used the SQL Profiler to generate a trace file, and tuning advisor to take that trace file and provide some recommendations on db updates. However, the SQL Profiler doesn't seem to track the queries when running against a Reporting Server, the profiler doesn't seem to be capturing any of the queries. I'm logging the defaults (SQL:BatchCompleted and Starting, RPC:completed, and Sessions - Existing Connections) What events should I be capturing in SQL Profiler in order to run the tuning advisor?

• JPA and compatibility with persistance providers and databases vendors

  JPA promises to be vendor neutral for persistence and database. But I already know than some persistence frameworks like hibernate are not perfect (character encoding, null comparison) and you need to adapt your schema for each database. Because there is two layers (the persistence framework and database), I would imagine they're some work to use some JPA codes... It seems that Google Sites only simulates subdirectories on FileCabinet pages. Is there an alternative Google Sites approach? Or is there a way to set up a P2 site without subdirectories or so that Install New Software will reference a zip file? Any alternative recommendations?

  I have an executable (no source) that I need to wrap, to make sure that it is not called more than once at a time. I immediately think of some sort of queue wrapper, but how do I actually make it so that my wrapper is called instead of the executable itself? Is there a better way to do this? • What binary architectures should be cross-compiled when building Mac OS X packages?

  Currently, Apple's native binaries and libraries are distributed as fat files, with support for both i386 and x86_64 architectures. The SDK (Xcode 4.4 w/ command line tools) doesn't support cross-compiling powerpc binaries any more, so they can be safely ignored I think, but there doesn't seem to be any specific guidelines or recommendations about which Intel architectures to support. So, when compiling code for distribution on OS X, do people still cross-compile for the i386 architecture? Or are x86_64 binaries the only architecture worth bothering with nowadays?
