    I have created a small navigation element that is positioned right on top of another element. It is only shown when a user mousenters/mouseovers the main element. I am having some trouble with the prototype. I would like this small nav element to be hidden when a user mouses out of the main box, but I would also like the small nav element to remain visible if a user mouses out of the main box but mouses into the small nav at the same time. This is my attempt so far with some pseudo-code to hopefully explain: $('main_box').observe('mouseenter', function(){ $('small_div').show() }) $('main_box').observe('mouseleave', function(){ if this element is $('small_div') then Event.stop() $('small_div').observe('mouseleave', function(){ if this element is $('main_box') Event.stop observe $('main_box') mouseleave else $('small_div').hide(); }) else $('small_div').hide(); }) The main thing I'm having trouble with is figuring out what element the mouse is over at a given point in time.   • Building a Monopoly Board with GridBagLayout

    I have been building a Java version of Monopoly in my spare time and am having some trouble understanding layouts etc for Swing. Each one of my spaces on the board is a essentially a custom JButton and I have been trying to lay them around the edge of a frame (like on the monopoly board itself). I can't seem to find a useful explanation of how the layout system works and so am having trouble do so. Could someone please give me an example of how they would lay the buttons around the edge of the frame? Should I be using a different layout?

  • How do I stop Safari from caching my Servlet response?

    I'm having trouble testing a web app with Safari. My app returns wave audio data. The problem happens when I change the application and hit it again from Safari. Safari caches the original response so no matter how many times I hit refresh it seems like I've not updated anything. I can almost get around this using force refresh with Firefox but because I'm having trouble generating the wave headers using the javax.sound API Firefox only plays the first second of audio returned. A few weeks ago I tried setting the HTTP header in my servlet to prevent caching but I don't think I was setting it correctly. (What is the header for browser cache control?) This is becoming a real pain and I'm looking for any ideas, comments, or alternative approaches. I'm getting ready to try again but I figured I'd ask here in the interim to see if someone can provide help.

    I'm having a bit of trouble with ReferencePropertys in App Engine (Python). For a bit of fun, I'm trying to model a folder/file system, but having trouble getting folders to reference folders. My first attempt was this: class Folder(db.Model): id = db.StringProperty() name = db.StringProperty() created = db.DateTimeProperty(auto_now_add=True) folder = db.ReferenceProperty(Folder, collection_name="folders") But that fails as "Folder" isn't defined when "folder" is trying to be defined. I've also tried defining "folder" outside of the main declaration for "Folder", like so: class Folder(db.Model): id = db.StringProperty() name = db.StringProperty() created = db.DateTimeProperty(auto_now_add=True) Folder.folder = db.ReferenceProperty(Folder, collection_name="folders") But that fails with: AttributeError: 'Folder' object has no attribute 'folders' I'm kind of stumped. I've always had trouble figuring out xpath with Java and I can never find any good tutorials or references for this. If anyone could help me figure this out that would be great.

  • border highlighting loop with jquery

    I'm having trouble coming up with a loop that changes the border color of an image from black to yellow and yellow to black over x seconds. Then applying an interrupt to the loop when the image gets clicked on. I don't know where to start, can someone point me in the right direction? I think I may be using the wrong tools to properly write this. Here's what I've come up so far, though if there's a better way to write this, do share! for( i = 100; i >= 0; i--) { $("#imgid").css("border-color", 'rgb(' + i + '%,' + i + '%,0)'); } I'm having trouble picturing how I could combine two loops so that I can also count upwards as well so that it will turn into yellow and back to black. I also don't know how to go about controlling the amount of time it takes for that loop to execute and creating an interrupt when #imigid is clicked. Which is where I'm not sure how to write.

    I am trying to perform some composition-based filtering on a large collection of strings (protein sequences). I wrote a group of three subroutines in order to take care of it, but I'm running into trouble in two ways - one minor, one major. The minor trouble is that when I use List::MoreUtils 'pairwise' I get warnings about using $a and $b only once and them being uninitialized. But I believe I'm calling this method properly (based on CPAN's entry for it and some examples from the web). The major trouble is an error "Can't use string ("17/32") as HASH ref while "strict refs" in use..." It seems like this can only happen if the foreach loop in &comp is giving the hash values as a string instead of evaluating the division operation. I'm sure I've made a rookie mistake, but can't find the answer on the web.   • how to tesselate bezier triangles?

    My concern are quadratic bezier triangles which I'm trying to tesselate for rendering them. I've managed to implement this by subdividing the triangle recursively like described in a wikipedia page. Though I'd like to get more precision to subdivision. The problem is that I'll either get too few subdivisions or too many because the amount of surfaces doubles on every iteration of that algorithm. In particular I would need an adaptive tesselation algorithm that allows me to define the amount of segments at the edges. I'm not sure whether I can get that though so I'd also like to hear about uniform tesselation techniques. Hardest trouble I have trouble with calculating normals for a point in bezier surface, which I'm not sure whether I need, but been trying to solve out.

  • What's a good FOSS java servlet session replication solution

    I work on a very high volume public website running on Tomcat 5.5. Currently we require stickiness to a particular server in order to maintain session. I'd like to start replicating session, but have had trouble finding a good FOSS solution. I've written my own Manager (using memcached as the store) but am having trouble dealing with race conditions if more than one server is handling the requests for the same user. Is there a solution out there I should be looking at? I'm looking for not just something that works as a fallback if stickiness fails, but that would work if user requests are regularly spread to multiple servers.

    Hi, This is probably a very simple question but I'm new to nHibernate and I'm having trouble working this out. I have a Page object, which can have many Region objects. I also have a Workflow object. Page and Region objects both have a relationship to Workflow and it's this double association that I'm having trouble with. The PageMap has HasMany(Function(x) x.Regions).Cascade.All() And the RegionMap has: References(Function(x) x.Page) And this all seems to work. But how do I define the relationship between Workflow and these two objects?

    In C++, I have a certain template function that, on a given condition, calls a template function in another class. The trouble is that the other class requires the full definition of the first class to be implemented, as it creates the second class and stores them and manages them in similar fashions. The trouble is that naturally, they fall as one class, and thus have some tight interop, except that I need them to be two classes for threading reasons. A sort of, master for all threads, one child per thread, system. Any advice on how this can be implemented?

  • Browser-Incompatability with image alignment in CSS using YUI grid (Firefox + Opera)

    I'm having trouble with the alignment of two images on the footer of my temporary website (http://www.rotimioyewole.com). I'm new to the YUI grid, which I think may be a factor. It should look roughly like this (works correctly in Chrome and Safari, haven't tested IE yet): (http://cl.ly/44fH) But on FF and Opera look like this: http://cl.ly/44aO If I can have some sort of consistency then the website would at least be presentable. I'm loading another C++ dll using hInst = LoadLibrary(TEXT("mydll.dll")); and I came to realize that this looks for the dll I'm trying to load in 'C:\' or in 'system32'. Can someone show me how to load the dll from the current directory (without knowing what the current directory is ahead of time) ?? I know I should be using something like GetFullPathName but I'm having a little trouble getting it to work on my own...

That commented "if" is for excluding the trouble making contact on which I get this error. If I uncomment that the program runs fine without any problems. The problem is that this test is made on a small number of contacts and if I add more contacts to the test I get more errors of this kind. this should be a synchronization job so excluding all the "bad" contacts won't work

You can choose which style of warning that you would like to receive when encountering a “less then reputable” website.     I have just installes ubuntu 14.04 in my macbook pro, and I already configure all but the keyboard and screen brightness. In OS X, the brightness is controled automatically, I want to know if this is possible to do the same on ubuntu, if can't, then how can I set that do not start with all the brightness, this has been a great bug in ubuntu since the start, a lot of time has passed and this keeps been a real trouble.   • Efficient way of drawing outlines around sprites

    Hi, I'm using XNA to program a game, and have been experimenting with various ways to achieve a 'selected' effect on my sprites. The trouble I am having is that each clickable that is drawn in the spritebatch is drawn using more than a single sprite (each object can be made up of up to 6 sprites). I'd appreciate it if someone could advise me on how I could achieve adding an outline to my sprites of X pixels (so the outline width can be various numbers of whole pixels).
