• Send ESC commands to a printer in C#

  My application needs to print invoices, then a get the invoice from database, insert informations os the invoice in a big string (tellling the line, column, etc). after this a have the string ready to be sent to a printer. My problem is: I need to put some ESC/P commands/characters in my big string i try to do something like this: char formFeed = (char)12; Convert.ToChar(12); MyBigString.Insert(10, formFeed); whit this, the line 10 will do a FormFeed, but this not work NOTE: i send the MybigString all at once to printer. to make my code works i need to send the data line by line to a printer ?   I have a query that runs in less than 1 ms: SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int LIMIT 10 However, when I combine it with another query using INTERSECT, the query now takes more than 250ms: SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int INTERSECT SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int LIMIT 10 This can't be right. I've tried several index combinations, for example an index on all columns I use in my query, but to no avail. I've tried compound indexes as well, but they only slow things down even more. I have read a few things about SQLite and how it treats indexes. I know SQLite is capable of delivering sick performance, and surely I must be overlooking something.

• iPhone - Web Access Authentication

  I am building a secure app for our exec's... here is my setup. It's a somewhat Macgyver approach, but bear with me :) There are only 10 users, I have a record of each uniqueIdentifier on my backend in a database table. (This is internal only for our users, so I don't believe I am breaking the public user registration rule mentioned in the API docs) Through adhoc distribution I install my app on all 10 devices My app is simply composed of a UIWebView. When the app starts it does a POST to our https site sending the uniqueIdentifier. (Thanks to this answer) The server page that recieves the POST, checks the uniqueIdentifier and if found sets a session cookie that automatically logs them into the site. This way the user doesn't have to enter in their credentials every time. So what do you think, is there a security hole with this? Thanks

  I have a Windows 2008 server. This has an instance of IIS7 installed and a website, accessible only via an internal hostname defined in the the servers hosts file. e.g. the server IP is 10.0.6.11 and the hosts file contains an entry 10.0.6.11 hl7.ourname.org I would like to call a URL on the website, e.g "http://hl7.ourname.org/updatestatus" from a Windows service. I can call the web site from an instance of IE7 running on the server. However, if try to call it from a Windows service I get a "Socket Error # 10061 Connection refused." This looks like a permission issue. The service is running as "Network Service" ,but maybe I should be running as a different user. Thanks

  I'm trying to create a ggplot2 plot with the legend beneath the plot. The ggplot2 book says on p 112 "The position and justification of legends are controlled by the theme setting legend.position, and the value can be right, left, top, bottom, none (no legend), or a numeric position".   Hi, I'm coding an application on Ipad, in a certain point of my application I present a ViewController with the presentModalViewController. My ViewController is a UISScrollView who take the larger of the modalView and inside it I display some images, I allow pagingEnabled so I can see all my images inside the scrollView. Sometimes I have to display more than 10 images inside the scrollView, so I have this error RECEIVE MEMORY WARNING LEVEL=1 after this one RECEIVE MEMORY WARNING LEVEL=2 and finnaly the debugger exited due to signal 10 (Sigbus). What can I do? is there a way to unload the image thats offscreen? or others things to do? Thanks,

• AJAX call in for loop won't return values to correct array positions

  I need to get a range of pages using AJAX and put them into an array, where their given place in the array is equal to the i of a for loop (it's a caching-like function for blog pages, and the range of the for loop is entirely variable). I'm doing something akin to the following: var bongo = new Array(); for (i = 0; i < 10; i++) { jQuery.ajax({ type: "GET", url: http://localhost, data: queryString, success: function(request) { bongo[i] = request } }) } The problem is, that unless I add async: false to the .ajax options (which would make it... SJAX?), which causes the requests to basically pause the browser, going against what I'm trying to do, the i in the success callback will always end up being 11, whereas I of course want it to pour the returned data into each slot of the array from 0 to 10. I've tried replacing the line with this: bongo[i] = jQuery.ajax({ type: "GET", url: http://localhost, data: queryString }).responseText But that made no difference.

  How do I add padding, or some space between the textboxes when using dockstyle.top property? for(int i =0; i< 10; i++) { textboxes[i] = new TextBox(); textboxes[i].Dock = DockStyle.Top; mypanel.Controls.Add(textboxes[i]); } The code above puts textboxes right beneath each other. Can't figure this out without using mass panels or fixed positioning. How to do the following? 1) I would like to add around 10-20pixels between boxes. 2) How to change size (height,width) of the textboxes, since when using dockstyle.top it ignores the size commands ?
