• WCF Service timeout in Callback

  I'm trying to get to grips with WCF, in particular writing a WCF Service application with callback. I've setup the service, together with the callback contract but when the callback is called, the app is timing out. Essentially, from a client I'm setting a property within the service class. The Setter of this property, if it fails validation fires a callback and, well, this is timing out. I realise that this is probably to it not being an Asynchronous calback, but can someone please show me how to resolve this? • Export Multiple Crystal Reports ASP.NET

  Hey all, I want to export 2 different reports when I click an Export button. The problem is the routine only fires once and I only get one report to print out. Am I doing something wrong? I think it has something to do with the HTTPResponse, but I'm not sure. • What is the behavior of a WPF 4 ControlStoryboardAction trigger?

  Hi all! I have a question that's been bugging me for a while: I have a lengthy IO operation which I invoke asynchronously, and I want my UI to show a blinking text to tell the users that the data is loading. I have an IsLoading boolean property in my ViewModel, and I used a ControlStoryboardAction to kickoff the blinking animation, which is set to repeat forever. For my ControlStoryboardAction trigger, I configured a data trigger to see if IsLoading is true, and start my storyboard if true. My problem is, when my IO operation returns, and I set IsLoading back to false, the animation continues to play. I thought once the trigger condition evaluated to false, it would stop the animation? I then added a second ControlStoryboardAction to stop the animation if IsLoading evaluted to false, but this didn't have any effect. The animation continued to play after IsLoading was false. Can anyone explain to me how trigger works in ControlStoryboardAction? In normal data triggers in WPF, once the condition evaluated to false, the property would be set back to its original state. It seems triggers in WPF actions don't work the same way? Thanks in advance for your help!

• Microsoft Entourage/Exchange Server problem: all objects disappeared from server - still in some for

  One of our employees works with Entourage on his MacBook Pro (OSX 10.6) accessing Exchange Server 2007. Last Friday morning, I think while working over a VPN, Entourage (I think it was Entourage) deleted all his objects (mail, calendar, contacts) on the server and while creating a lot of strange folders (starting with underscores) on the client. The local data seems to be there, but not in a consistent form. Since the user's mailbox is rather big, I suspect, that there was some kind of "move" operation which did not complete. I tried to export the data, but the export stops because of a corrupted object. Is there a tool or another way to export or retrieve the local data? Edit - FYI: we solved the problem getting his data from the previous night's backup.

  Have you seen anything like this before? Not always but permanently shows up this strange behaviour. What's the name of that problem? And - ofcoz:) - how can I solve it?   I am hoping someone can help me with this problem. I am moving to a new server and not using mod_pagespeed any more. However We not that we have lots of external links that link to images on our server using the strange mod_pagespeed filenames. This is not an issue but we do not want to have lots of 404 errors. • wmic output well formed xml on remote queries

  I want to use the WMI command line tool (wmic) to get information about windows computers on the network and output it as valid xml. However, I can't seem to find the right way to do this as the outputted xml currently contains invalid tokens for which I think I should use the /TRANSLATE:basicxml switch. The command: wmic /NODE:"tech-demo" /IMPLEVEL:Impersonate /USER:MyUser /PASSWORD:MyPassword /PRIVILEGES:DISABLE /AUTHLEVEL:Pkt /AUTHORITY:"ntlmdomain:companydomain.local" PATH Win32_LogicalDisk GET * /FORMAT:rawxml This command runs but returns invalid xml tokens ('<' and '' I think? edit: it appears to fail parsing at ‹) When I add the translate switch I get the message: Can not use credentials for local connections a bit strange that it tries to query the local pc when I add the switch.. It seems like HandleScope is not designed to be used in multithreaded applications. I can use the v8::Locker and v8::Unlocker methodes but that would always give me execution traces as this: t1: a = 1 t1: b = 2 t2: a = 1 t2: b = 2 I hope someone can give me a hint on getting this code multithreaded so that a possible execution trace could like this: t1: a = 1 t2: a = 1 t1: b = 2 t2: b = 2 Thanks already in advance! • sudo displays typed password in bash script

  Hullo, I have a bash script that uses sudo a few times. There's a couple of strange points about it though. It asks me for my password a few seconds after I've already entered it for a previous command. The second time I enter my password, it's echoed to the display. Here's the relevant bits of the script. sudo service apache2 stop drush sql-dump --root="$SITE_DIR" --structure-tables-key=svn --ordered-dump | grep -iv 'dump completed on' | sudo tee "$DB_DIR/${SITE_NAME}.sql" > /dev/null sudo svn diff "$DB_DIR" | less sudo svn commit -m "$MESSAGE" "$DB_DIR" sudo service apache2 start The first password is to stop apache, and it works as expected. As mentioned, the sudo tee doesn't 'remember' that I have elevated privileges, asks for the password again, and echoes it to the screen. Given that tee is all about echoing to screen, I've played around a little with simple scripts which have | sudo tee, and they all work as expected. Ideas?! TIA Andy

  I'm implementing simple "grade book" application where the teacher would be able to update the grades w/o being allowed to change the students' names (at least not on the update grade page). To do this I'm using one of the read-only tricks, the simplest one. The problem is that after the SUBMIT the view is re-displayed with 'blank' values for the students. I'd like the students' names to re-appear. Below is the simplest example that exhibits this problem. (This is poor DB design, I know, I've extracted just the relevant parts of the code to showcase the problem.   In a web app developed in PHP we are generating Quotations and Invoices (which are very simple and of single page) using TCPDF lib. The lib is working just great but it seems to generate very large PDF files. For example in our case it is generating PDF files as large as 4 MB (+/- a few KB). How to reduce this bloating of PDF files generated by TCPDF? • Embedded Vimeo Video Callbacks

  This post is kind of a follow up to a post I made earlier in regards to HTML5 video callbacks. In that thread, I was given a great piece of code that would allow for the browser to be informed of when the video stops playing and then fire off an action (with jQuery). This is the code I'm currently using: $('video.normal').bind('ended', function(){ $(this).fadeOut().queue(function(){ $(this).siblings('.post-video').fadeIn(); $(this).dequeue(); }); }); Which basically fades the video out when it's completed and brings a poster frame of the video (or similar image) back into view. Well, the scope of the project has changed and now the client is asking for true full screen video and different size videos to be delivered based on user connection speed, something that's a little over my head and a lot over budget. So I've been researching and a Vimeo Plus player seems like a great alternative for visitors using a desktop browser (HD embeds, true full screen, and more). Thing is, I need that above code to continue working in some capacity or another, so does the embedded Vimeo player offer a similar callback that I can utilize? Or am I SOL here? Thanks in advance!

• Wordpress thumbnail creation question

  I'm trying to use Wordpress' built-in thumbnailing and image re-sizing in my Wordpress 2.9.2 installation. I'm trying to get various sizes (post listing/results 160x160 & "single.php" 618x150) and for some reason the single.php one works, but only half way. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong here. I have it working…sorta. I’m totally stuck and there seems to be a lack of documentation on the Codex for this feature so here goes. The small 160×160 thumbnail for article listings/search views works fine. It crops it, all’s groovy. The issue comes when I go to format the image for the single.php article details view. It crops, but then scales down even further for some reason. • Comparing two collections for equality

  I would like to compare two collections (in C#), but I'm not sure of the best way to implement this efficiently. I've read the other thread about Enumerable.SequenceEqual, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. In my case, two collections would be equal if they both contain the same items (no matter the order). Example: collection1 = {1, 2, 3, 4}; collection2 = {2, 4, 1, 3}; collection1 == collection2; // true What I usually do is to loop through each item of one collection and see if it exists in the other collection, then loop through each item of the other collection and see if it exists in the first collection. (I start by comparing the lengths). if (collection1.Count != collection2.Count) return false; // the collections are not equal foreach (Item item in collection1) { if (!collection2.Contains(item)) return false; // the collections are not equal } foreach (Item item in collection2) { if (!collection1.Contains(item)) return false; // the collections are not equal } return true; // the collections are equal However, this is not entirely correct, and it's probably not the most efficient way to do compare two collections for equality. An example I can think of that would be wrong is: collection1 = {1, 2, 3, 3, 4} collection2 = {1, 2, 2, 3, 4} Which would be equal with my implementation. Should I just count the number of times each item is found and make sure the counts are equal in both collections? The examples are in some sort of C# (let's call it pseudo-C#), but give your answer in whatever language you wish, it does not matter. Note: I used integers in the examples for simplicity, but I want to be able to use reference-type objects too (they do not behave correctly as keys because only the reference of the object is compared, not the content).

  I have a very strange shell extension folder which I just can't get rid of. How can I get rid of this? I already downloaded ShellExViewer, but I cannot find any extension called "X64", nor are the other extensions which reside in that folder anywhere in the Viewer. I am also not able to find that folder in the registry, but that's probably because I don't know where to look. How can I edit this so the contents of the folder are put in the "default" menu and not in a subfolder?

• Can't log in via SSH to any accounts set to use /bin/bash as a default shell

  I'm trying to install bash as the default shell on a ARM Linux running on an embedded device (Synology DS212+ NAS). But there's something really wrong, and I can't figure out what it is. Symptoms: 1) Root has /bin/bash as default shell, and can log in normally via SSH: $ grep root /etc/passwd root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash $ ssh root@NAS root@NAS's password: Last login: Sun Dec 16 14:06:56 2012 from desktop # 2) joeuser has /bin/bash as default shell, and receives "Permission denied" when trying to log in via SSH: $ grep joeuser /etc/passwd joeuser:x:1029:100:Joe User:/home/joeuser:/bin/bash $ ssh joeuser@localhost joeuser@NAS's password: Last login: Sun Dec 16 14:07:22 2012 from desktop Permission denied, please try again. Connection to localhost closed. 3) changing joeuser's shell back to /bin/sh: $ grep joeuser /etc/passwd joeuser:x:1029:100:Joe User:/home/joeuser:/bin/sh $ ssh joeuser@localhost Last login: Sun Dec 16 15:50:52 2012 from localhost $ To make things even more strange, I can log in as joeuser using /bin/bash using the serial console (!). Also a su - joeuser as root works fine, so the bash binary itself is working fine. In an act of despair, I changed joeuser's uid to 0 on /etc/passwd, but also didn't work, so it doesn't seem to be anything permission related. Seems that bash is doing some extra checking that sshd didn't like, and blocking the connections for non-root users. Maybe some sort of sanity checking - or terminal emulation - that is triggering the SIGCHLD, but only when called via ssh. I already went through every single item on sshd_config, and also put SSHD in debug mode, but didn't find anything strange. • Overlay only draws between first 2 points in Android
