  • How do I make menus like these?

    So I'm looking at slickdeals.net and amazon.com, and I found something very intriguing. It's basic for most of you guys out there, but it's new to me. For slickdeals.net, when you click login, a login box pops up like so. Also for Amazon.com, when you hover over the left navigational menus, a new menu pops up! I think it's JavaScript, but how does this work? How can I do something like that?

  • How can I make Google Maps icon to always appear in the center of map - when clicked?

I want to add some style to head tag in html page using javascript. var h = document.getElementsByTagName('head').item(0); h.innerHTML += '<style>a{font-size:100px;}</style>'; But when I run this code in IE8 I see this error message: Could not set the innerHTML property. Invalid target element for this operation. Any ideas?

For now I am not pasting my code because I just started, the first problem is when i type some text in firefox and even before I click enter or calling any function firebug inserts <br _moz_dirty=""> under the entered text. If I use the console and type: d = new Date(Date.parse("2010-05-28")) d.format("yyyy-MM-dd"); "" d._toFormattedString(); "Fri May 28 2010 00:00:00 GMT+0200 (W. Europe Daylight Time)" Anyone got any clue why I get an empty string? And it's only in Chrome, didn't happen in Chrome 4, and it doesn't happen in IE8/Firefox3.5

When we scroll that page down, older posts will be added to the end of the page (and maybe some posts at the beginning of the page but outside the view port will be removed). My questions are: - how to know if the user scrolls down/up with javascript/jQuery? - how to know if the user is at the top of the page (they click Ctrl + Home)? Thank you.

    Part of my code I get the OuterHTML propery "<LI onclick="TabClicked(this, 'SearchName', 'TabGroup1');">Name " so I can do stuff involing parsing it. There is no OuterHTML property in javascript on firefox though and I can't find an alternative way to get this string. Ideas?
